That is my Aunt Patsy playing the part of the waitress -- her full name is Pat Crawford Brown. I love this movie so much and the first time I saw it I didn't realize Aunt Patsy was in it, and it was a great surprise. There are no small parts. If Aunt Patsy hadn't asked them, "What kind of business you girls in?" they wouldn't have come up with post-it notes. So it was a crucial part. Aunt Patsy is retired now, but says all her movie acting helped support "her Shakespeare habit."
If that's your Aunt, that's cool. I have seen her in many movies and TV. I do remember her in an episode of TV's "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"(called the Doublemeat Palace, 12th episode of the 6th Season, air date 1/29/2002), where her character, was well a monster(Wig Lady)and would eat the employees who worked in the fast food joint. Good stuff!
@@annabanana8700 Yeah, lol, I almost like her better in this movie than I did on Friends. I liked her in that too though. But like Jennifer Aniston, Lisa wasn't just strictly a sitcom actress. Lisa was great in Romy and Michelle's. And Jen Aniston was great in Office Space and Along came Polly
Yeah, that was funny, lol, they got themselves cornered with the lie they told. If you're going to make a lie to a stranger about what your career is, then you must practice the lie beforehand and think up of an answer to any possible follow-up questions the stranger may then ask you, particularly if they ask you what your career is 😂
@@alvexok5523So right. That’s why this scene is so important in the movie because after they leave they plans for the big lie at the reunion and come up with the posted thing lol
@@shantagees9425 Yeah, I liked that scene, particularly when Lisa explains what the post-it notes adhesive is made from since she actually described what it really is made from accurately. Too bad that turned out to be a dream sequence before they really got to the reunion, lol. I edited my first comment you replied to, but just slightly. Also, and you may get a laugh out of this, but I at one time thought that you pronounce lol like a word instead of just saying the letters lol 😂
I love this movie! The girls look so cute in their businesswoman outfits. I always get the same reaction when I ask for the businesswoman's special. Maybe because I'm a man.
That's the whole joke. In the 60s and 70s, it wasn't uncommon for diners to have a "businessmen's lunch special". They were riffing on that outdated practice.
iCONIC! This was a strange movie choice for Mira Sorvino at the time after having just won an Oscar to do this B-Movie type super camp comedy but i'm so glad she did it because it's her most fun movie ever. They are gay icons for sure!
"GOD THIS UNDERWEAR IS TOTALLY RIDING UP MY BUTT CRACK" 😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂 God, i absolutely love my girl Pheebs, absolutely hilarious line by her in this scene, so adorable and sexy line delivery, and it also might be by new favorite quote from Pheebs ever
I generally have no interest in chick movies/romantic comedies, or whatever they're called, as they are usually too predictable and I honestly just can't stand them, but this is one of the very few that I actually like. It's a childhood favourite, it's very funny, has a great soundtrack, it's the 90s, and the two female leads are almost 30 - it doesn't get better than that... and Mira Sorvino has the greatest accent. I love how she says "hello" 😂 At least we don't have annoying teenagers that make you want to bang your head off a brick wall.
whats lisa kudrows hairstyle called ? if it has a name because i really want to watch a tutorial on how to do it but can't if i don't know what to search for
You are missing the point....there isn't really Zombies, Monsters, Mermaids, True Love, etc..but they still make movies about it....it's a movie...made for entertainment....they aren't supposed to know what business they are in to make it funny...
Nope. Just 2 ditzy girls that didn't do anything after high school and for their 10 year reunion, they try to makeup a lie that they are some business hot shots with a cool car, cool suits....and no business plan...hence why they were speechless when asked what business they were in...they never thought about having to explain beyond the name " business women"...it's a super fun coming of teenage adult age movie.
but that's not realistic. I mean they think by just saying they r business women, it actually means something? It's like saying I'm an athlete but don't know what sport, or I work out but don't know what type of exercise I do, or I'm on a diet but I don't know what kind. Nobody is that stupid.

I was actually wondering who she was today and came to check the scene. Thanks for sharing!

Aww this is sweet.
love your Aunt! Shes been in so many things I love! That Buffy episode springs to mind...
The looks on their faces is priceless when asked by the waitress on what kind of business they're in !!
I swear this movie is so underrated
Yes, it's my pick for one of the funniest films of all time.
With a surprisingly touching and honest message.
Yeah I just love it
yes one of the funniest movies
Yeah it's amazing to me when I find out someone hasn't seen it even heard of this.
Love this film and Sorvino and Kudrow, in addition to having great comedic chops, have excellent chemistry.
"What kind of business are you in?" *silence* lol classic! x
No matter how many times I watch this I can never survive that last stare by Mira Sorvinos. Leaves me dead every single time 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
And the way Lisa Kudrow looks to her in a panic😂😂😂

Mira Sorvino nails it by just doing nothing.
I love how Lisa scrunches her lip in confusion as she turns to Mira. That's such a Phoebe.

🤣
Lol
Fuck that, gender equality for all!
Oh em gee you are the best for asking!!!
words cant describe my love of this film x
Legend has it that Elizabeth Holmes saw this many years ago as research on how to pretend to be a business woman
Hahahaha
HAHAHA! Wow I am dying.
Hahahahah
OMG Romie even has a deep voice
Hahaha, yes!!! I came here just for this comment.
Lol never in all my life have I heard of any place anywhere that has a "Businesswomen lunch special"
that was the point. she was such a pretender and a dork. love them though.

Some places label their lunch offer asbussiness lunch
"What Kind of Business You In"......blank stares....
We don't have anything like that" 😅
My mouth dropped to the floor when they came out of that bathroom...hilarious movie too!
The looks, and the slight head turn like "Uh....Romy?" 😆 one of my favourite movies.
iCONIC!

The movie did not do well in theaters, but it received favorable reviews from critics and found an audience on home video.
The way she just stares blankly at her is SO fuckin’ funny. 🤣
I feel like they were going for the burgers and fries even if there was a business woman special. 😆
“We don’t have anything like that.” LOL! The look on her face!
She’s a businesswoman in town for business. You can find her in conference room B. She’s Regina Phalange.
this is just a perfect scene.
I’m already dying at Romy’s accent. What is that?!
Cali Valley Girl mixed with Philly
That head turn tho😂
One of my fave scenes from any movie!
"GOD THIS UNDERWEAR IS TOTALLY RIDING UP MY BUTT CRACK"
😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
God, i absolutely love my girl Pheebs, absolutely hilarious line by her in this scene, so adorable and sexy line delivery, and it also might be by new favorite quote from Pheebs ever
Mira Sorvinos voice does it for me
This movie was really the babe version of Dumb and Dumber lol
I saw this when I was like 20...seeing this now at 45 is waaaaay funnier. Wil need to go back and watch this
They actually look like Robert Palmer dancers.
This scene STILL KILLS!!!! 🤣😂🤣 #romyandmichelleforever 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Waitress: what kind of a business you're in?
Romy and Michelle: *dead air*
🤣🤣🤣
my friend actually asked the waiter this at red robin. he actually understood it. lol. :]
I love how the guy at 00:07 watches them 😂
I love that rattle of the plate at the very end.
very perceptive grasshopper
Elizabeth Holmes!
brilliant
- what kind of business you in?
- "silence"
Love this scene
My girl Pheebs looks absolutely gorgeous in that suit 😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hilarious. When you switch to businesswoman mode, therefore there will be lunch specials for businesswomen.
'We're doing Tucson later, for a business thing...you know...'
M Styles I think she says they're due in Tuscon lol
Heh, it just reminds me of the artificiality in the workforce, and how many people get by very well playing that part, faking it all 😄
funny ass movie. one of the funniest scenes in this movie
Lol when the waitress says "What kind of business you in?" she's so judging them, like, she's really saying "are you hookers?" haha!
never got that vibe
I'm 10 years late!
But NO .she was genuinely asking what business they're in
But the 2 genuinely got caught off guard with that question 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆

who else remembers the waitress as ida in desperate housewives
Fun Fact: The actress playing the waitress played Jill's piano teacher on "Home Improvement".
She also played Ida in Desperate Housewives
Were due in Tuscon later.
“Come again?” 😂
Mira Sorvino’s face 😂😂
still one of my all time fave (chick flick) movie moments
I was thinking how fitting of a reflection (and top favorite) what my 'career' has felt like, takes a small sliver off 😅
Anyone know where this scene was filmed? Would be so fun to go there and order a business woman’s special. 😊😂
Hahaha that would be great
Love how they think career women dress like they in a robert palmer video.
“Romy and Michelle Do Tucson”
my most favorite movie of all
LMAOOOOOFF
Lisa Kudrow looked fuckin' hot in this movie.
She got legs.
So funny
Pretty cool to see Phoebe Buffay doing stuff outside of friends
This was filmed when she was making Friends.
@@rayoflight6505 I know this was 1997
Came here because of Iggy Azalea's Fuck It Up music video. I was curious about that business woman discount.
Iggy brought me here
What kind of business you in? lol
LMAO! love it.
whats lisa kudrows hairstyle called ? if it has a name because i really want to watch a tutorial on how to do it but can't if i don't know what to search for
it is a MOVIE and meant to be a FUNNY movie..it wouldn't have been funny if they knew what business they had....
“What kind of business y’all in?” They shoulda quickly made up something, like Real estate
Or better yet, FASHION from Michelle!
Honestly even though I knew that question was coming, I couldn't think of anything 😂
Idk why but the waitress reminds me of George Carlin.
+steaksauce androb hahahaha what? that's kind of amazing, how does she reminds you of Carlin? the voice?
+Hanne Clausen idk maybe it's the size of her face?
that's really funny. but i can see that kind of squinch condensed face

@NotADood na there wasnt. haha. the waiter just understood the reference. lol.
here hairstyle is called a french twist
FIX THE VOLUME!
Can't hear it.. audio way to low
I love how the music ends and there’s silence after she asked the question...
We're doing Tucson later
@hco1 I agree, but she has no right to ask what business they're in. They could have just ignored it and played it cool
@aprizy haha yeah, i just went to it last night and it rocked XD!
