Brilliant
Konrads visions is him knowing he can't change what GW wrote about him! He was so edgy because only he can see the meta and that one time Horus did.
lol this is good
the batmandeadpool offspring in 40k
I absolutely love the fact that not even Russ wanted to tangle with him, saying "Kurse was given the strength of insanity".
Under no stretch of imagination can Curze be considered the greatest primarch, and that is why he’s my favourite.
He might be the greatest Warden lol say what you want about him, but he did a really great job keeping the worst of humanity in lineish, after turning them into 7 foot six biological war machines. I personally can't stand him or his logic, that said he definitely enriched the setting and he is the best warden followed only by El'johnson.
I respect it
One could argue that he was the only primarch that "won" in the end. He accomplished his only goal - which, to be fair, was a very easy goal - and he found the closest thing to peace he or any of the other primarchs would ever reach. It's heavily implied that his crown held a soul stone, which may well be where his soul is now (which is a damn sight better than being tormented eternally in the warp). That at least counts for something.
He easily could've been, with a proper upbringing.
Endlessly wise and intelligent, his approach was efficient and pragmatic, obsessed with order and justice, all he needed was tempering.
Remember this, many primarchs had their focus in the wrong place, vain, shortsighted, emotional...
Meanwhile, Konrad, even in the depths of insanity, still focused on the big picture, on the Imperium as a whole, on the meaning of it all.
He had the perfect mindset, he was born to rule, but the torture of his visions and Nostramo completely dominated his existence.
Of all the Primarchs, Curze maybe the most human. Not because he aspired to fulfill his potential or because he personified nobility - but because he was so so broken.
He was never perfect, always flawed and fatally pessimistic. Curze represented the basest traits of our species. Cruelty, vindictiveness, nihilism, resentment, anger, fear, pain.
We hate him because we see the worst of what we are in him, and because of his fatalism he does not believe he can be anything other than a monster.
He does not believe he can change, so he does not try.
In my opinion, that is the true tragedy of Konrad Curze.
I like Konrad because of his tenacity and his ability to literally climb up from the deepest depth and still get results, unlike a couple of his brothers who were pampered or just whiny. Konrad had a lot to deal with and tried for a very long time to be the best version of himself and faced a lot of setbacks. That makes him one of the most human and relatable Characters in the Whole setting and that's why he will be forever my favorite. It is interesting to see probably one of the best of the 21 to fall and fail so hard over time. Imagine what he could be under different circumstances. Easy top 3 of all of them.
What a character, brilliantly written so tragic and powerful in equal measure. It must be said though that in his haste to conquer mankind the Emperor neglected one important duty which was mentoring his troubled sons like Conrad,Angron,Motarion and Logar
I’d absolutely love to see a non crazy Konrad leading Terran born nightlords legion. They’d be complete beasts
Only in our headcannon, brother
Read the Dornian Heresy. It’s an alternate take where all those we know as loyalists fall to Chaos, and the heretics remain loyal. Curze overcomes his demons, and learns to harness his psychic visions. He uses them to allow many Marines to escape that realities Istvann Massacer as he could see which ships would be shot down, and which would make it to safety. In the end, he is a hero of Terra.
@@davidmacon1138 ain’t that the truth friend
What would non crazy Konrad be like you think ??
@@LemanoftheRussIV Read the Dornian Heresy. It’s an alternate take where the loyalists become the traitors and vise versa. Curze gets his visions under control, and isn’t crazy.
Now this is what "Mission Impossible" looks like...
In his primarch book, he chooses to kill a boy he pursued when he could have taken him under his wing and taught him about the necessity of justice, the punishing of the guilty etc and found something of a family, the one thing that could have made the biggest difference to curze growing up. That, imo, was the turning point for curze, where he could have become completely different from what he went on to be. A primarch who would have been able to pass on his lessons to those he took under his wing and open up to them about himself, something he felt he couldnt do with the other primarchs, and when he did with fulgrim his confidence was betrayed
Nobody likes Robin! Who in their right mind would like evil robin?
Between him and angron , talk about tragic.
Conrad is nowhere near as bad as Angron, Fulgrim, Lorgar, Magus, or Mortarion. All of those are far worse than Conrad Curze. He held the 1st Legion for months... A prime Lion. He then wages a one man guerilla war on Ultramar with three of his brothers chasing him. He then stands toe to toe with Sanguinious. Sure he's a sick fuck but he is by far one of the most dangerous primarchs hands down.
@@captainviktorgrim261 he IS the most dangerous. Unpredictable, skilled and insane.
I like konrad because he's nearly capable of getting the last word/laugh or escaping any situation just like Cypher. He can be the biggest pain in people's
But I don't like granting him any sympathy. He had plenty of examples and time to console with people who were paragons of humanity, humility, fairness, etc....for him to change to readers "he could been..." he's Vlad the Impaler. He's got brothers and legionaires in his life who hard it way rougher and no daddy time who were not all jacked up. He was the way he was by choice like he was told in his head by his dad lol. He just didn't like the fact that he was considered by all, a degenerate psycho. Instead of changing himself he blamed it on his visions and maker, then leaned into that which he realized that didn't work and when he realized he wanted to change he had gone too far and all that his legacy was had been just as damned as he was. If he's actually dead, he took the cowards way out.
well written character nonetheless.
Does Dorn ever think back about confronting Curze as an oopsies?
Ave Dominus Nox. My favorite traitor, primarch #Conrad Curze, truly did nothing wrong. Unlike a cyclopian jackass we shall not name. Night Lords works as intended, not bug but a feature.
Curze just vibed in his own twisted way
Woo! My favourite primarch being covered surprisingly early in this series!
many events conrad could not possibly influence came true, i believe conrad never had a vision which would not come to pass. So can u blame him for believing in an inevitable future
Quantum physics proves that Konrad is an idiot.
But Konrad did have visions he could influence. When he was chasing a gang youth across a roof, he had 2 visions; one where he spared the kid, raised/taught him, learned empathy and found kinship. The other vision, the kid tried to hurt him. Being the ultimate pessimist, Curze killed him. True, he had visions, like Sanguinius, where he wasn't involved. Unlike Sanguinius, when he had influence over events he foresaw, he chose the evil path. Konrad can be pitied for his lonely upbringing, but he was still a broken, vile Primarch who made choices to follow the worst outcomes of his visions.
@@jonpaulevans31 And that's exactly one of the main reasons why the Primarch Konrad Curze book is so, so bad. It robbed him of a very interesting aspect. Most NL fans don't really acknowledge the book because it's just that horribly written.
Curze is the primarch we need the most
Is that a batman joke?
Yes@@davidburnett5049
"This one is gonna be a tough sell"
He is deffently the most crazy one.
Ave Dominus Nox!!!
If the loyalists had Curze on their side (which is laughable) but if it did happen he would be the boogie man for all of the traitors because though he hates Chaos, he is more than willing to got full psycho on them unlike any of the other loyalist primarchs.
A Interaction for the Interaction God, a Comment for the Comment Throne, for the Almighty Algorithm
For the future, I say good luck in talking about Ferrus Manus. And I say that as an Iron Hands fan!
As a Night Lord enjoyer, let me tell you. Curze could never be the best primarch even if he was the only one existing.
Then you missed everything about him and why it was that way. Nuance is everything
@davidmacon1138 Conrad in my opinion, is the Sanguinious of the traitors. His legion fought and held the Lion and the 1st legion at bay for months bleeding each other white. Then he terrorizes Ultramar by himself stand before Sanguinious and they are matched. Conrad is probably the most underrated and underestimated of all his brothers. He then never retreats to the eye of terror and faces his death like Sanguinious before him with full knowledge of that end. Death means nothing compared to vindication.
@@captainviktorgrim261 WELL SAID
@@davidmacon1138 To sum it up: Amazing character, awful primarch. Sevatar was god tier when compared to him. How different would the story have been were him the primarch instead of Konrad.
@@fortheswarmlord3250 That's a very interesting opinion of a base level astarte versus primarch. Gifts or not. Sevetar would have made an awful primarch fo rthe simple reason he was abently present. He didn't care. About ANYTHING. This alone makes for a terrible leader in the best of circumstances.
I was just thinking, Angron isnt a good primarch. He sucks.. but. If he had been given a chance, i bet he would have been good and kind, and great and beloved primarch.
Lol imagine just communicating these visions to those in question. Hey dad horus is gonna betray you I saw it in a psychic vision which I have often I saw a bunch of other stuff too listen to this"proceeds to spoil every chaos plot in a single conversation" but no he keeps it to himself id pick angron over this idiot anyday.

Glory to the Dark Prince!
What sweet slaaneshi irony.
All Dante's Circles of Hell start from the Second: the Sins of Lust and Pride!
Fulgrim and Emperor's Children become Serpents, Konrad Curze and Night Lords become Dragons, Alpharius/Omegon and Alpha Legion become Crocodiles.
What is the excessive power of the Emperor's Children, the Night Lords and the Alpha Legion under Slaanesh to have bodies of pure flesh and bone fused together (like the bodies of the Tyranids)?
Genestealers (Tyranids) and Beastmen can find excess only with Slaanesh!
I think I've solved Slaanesh's Necromancy!
Ghosts and Skeletons of Slaanesh are of Ice, moved by Lust and Pride.
A pearl of Slaanesh please: Ice Magic of Slaanesh.
Does it have a classic look or does it have a more snowy look?
The (humanoid) Dark Kroxigor for Slaanesh?
How can they be?
Circle of Avidity is a hell of gold, Circle of Gluttony is a hell of blood, Circle of Carnality is a hell of sand, Circle of Supremacy (Paramountcy) is a hell of ash, Circle of Vanity (Vainglory) is a hell of water, Circle of Indolency is a hell of snow.
But why is it called that and not simply Supremacy?
Furthermore, the gold pearls of the Circle of Avidity must be Gold Serpents or Gold Elementals, i personally say gold pearls (the magic water that can turn everything into perfect gold).
And shouldn't the Circle of Vainglory simply be called the Circle of Vanity (example the Princes of Vanity)?
"Vanity, definitely my favorite sin."
(The coral/seaweed Forest of Vanity)
💜🟣
I have an interesting theory about the V Circle of Seduction, Vanity (Vainglory).
As Nurgle is nature on Earth, Slaanesh is nature in Water (example the sea gardens of the Laer).
And by logic the fragrant and flowery Forest of Vanity is of perfect coral with spikes and seaweed with spines, dominated by serpentine Demons with spines.
You like it?
Sun Dragons in the Circle of Carnality, Moon Dragons in the Circle of Indolency, Fire Dragons in the Circle of Supremacy, Ice Dragons in the Circle of Indolency, Metal Dragons in the Circle of Supremacy, Ash Dragons in the Circle of Indolency, Earth Dragons in the Circle of Supremacy, Sea Dragons in the Circle of Vanity, Storm Dragons in the Circle of Supremacy, Blood Dragons in the Circle of Gluttony.
You may be a Primarch, but can you flay 100 still living rats in tiny crucifixes? Curze can.
Now your speaking my language
Another super hilarious hot take, Wolf Lord Rho is on a roll lately 😂
Dude, thank you for telling me about Dread Weapons. I can't believe I haven't read that.
He’s the most human, because he knows his imperfection.
The Santa Claus of mutilation
Definitely one of the best. Maybe even second best. The Night hunter was a legend above other legends. And his legion is no different.
You're pushing it with this one ^^"
Then flee, loyalist dog.
Konrad lives (in a gem)... And is coming for all you law breakers
A question: If raised on Terra under the guidance of both the Emperor and Malcador would Konrad have truly become the figure of fear he was in the Great Crusade? Was his ruthlessness in dispensing justice innate or “nurtured” by the horrors of Nostramun society?
This is the character that I want Henry Cavill to portray. This hinges on M'shen not actually killing but simply incapacitating Curze when the camera feed cut out. I'm hoping that he's spent the last 10,000 years being rehabilitated and can return as a Loyalist Primarch.
Literally the one Primarch that has nothing going for him, atleast Angron has an excuse of being lobotomised. But hey, I appreciate a good trolljob.
Let me guess... Dark Angels player? Ultramarines perhaps....Ah that's it. You're a custodes player.
Curze saw the actual future as it would actually be. Mutable fate/immutable fate, doesn't matter. What he foresaw is what actually ended up happening. I think if you did change fate somehow, he would still see the actual future as it will be, regardless.
Best things:
- He saves lorgar and made corax fly away.
- Trolling G-man on his home planet
- Avoiding the Lion as long as he did, and kinda beating him once
So, if that’s your highlight reel. One of them actually highlighting he is less impressive than the Lion.
Only to get killed by a lowly assassin. Of all the dead (aka missing) primarchs, he fell to the weakest adversary. Something thats multiple power levels below him.
Hey I love the guy. But many had it worse than him. And many did better.
He’s great because he is so inherently immoral that he comes across as evil, even when he was loyal.
He is a better combatant than many credit him for. And he actually would be more useful to the imperium in 40k than 30k.
He gave himself up to the assassin as he considered it his fate. If he'd fought back, the assassin would have been joining the flesh tapestries in his throne room.
@@wereshem-ankh9063 Don't waste your time, these people can only classify characters in media via the 'Official Dragonball Z power rankings chart v7.6' in their heads
Curze could take any of the other Primarchs in a fight. The Lion even cheap shotted him but Curze still could've killed him if his space marines hadn't shown up to save him.
"It's also a hammer."
Konrad the greatest? That's a tall order bub. However let it be acknowledged that all his premonitions were 100% correct.
When big E was making Primarchs he chose souls from the warp.
Konrad's was the one of Batman.
He's the only Primark capable of creating something that could defeat himself in an argument, sure it was just a big inanimate meat pile, but it was so good at arguing it made him rage quit
I often want curze to be resurrected somehow. But it's never gonna happen, and it would kind of ruin his whole death making him right schtick.
konrad fans are unironically the most well rounded primarch fans cus they know that konrad is a grade s bastard, he sucks, hes probably the worst but damn we would not have it any other way
He’s lowkey is mid AF and crazy … his sons are chads doe
Same with angron lowkey broken and mid but his sons were litty
Out of curiosity do y'all think Ctaan shards and Waarp shards we used to create primarchs? Like the more tech were ctaan the magic were warp and the more stable were a healthy mix of both?
Curze in his prime could have arguably won any duel with his brothers.
Finally getting to the good stuff.
“It’s a bold strategy Cotton, let’s see if it pays off for him.”
He's discount Corvus Corax. Beaks for life heaters!
Is that why Corax ran from him with feathers tucked in-between his legs at Istvaan
They somewhat ruined Corvax. Instead of making him silence itself, and his legion, they gave him and some very few chosen ones inate powers to be basically not being noticable until they wish for it. And that doesn`t even work on all the races or people.
@@CyrodiilCome Corvus fought for whole day straight, had no weapons left functioning and just assblasted another Primarch. Meanwhile Cruize just landed fresh in full gear and thought he was hot shit. That loser wouldn't have survived 5 minutes of what Corvus did

He’s probably the absolute worst primarch and therefore one of my very favorites
The greatest waste of potential in the worst way.
April Fools was 90 days ago… youre 3 months late
I mean all he had to do was hit the gym and he wouldve been unstoppable
15 min??? I guess that proves hes the greatest...

I'm excited to hear this one
How the Emporer found out about the Heresy...from Conrad's premonitions. Then using the forgetfulness psychic power hiding the 2 lost primarchs from the other 18, on Conrad attempting to help him forget that he has the power. But it didn't work! He still remembers his power and still has continued visions.
Had Conrad choose to make a diary for every day he sees the foresight, it maybe makes him better.
The diary itself become famous with its credibility, the best seller in Terra " Diary of space Batman".

To be fair; it wasn't his fault that he was born insane, bloodthirsty, and cannibalistic.

While the falls of the traitor Primarks are mostly great, I noticed that they seem to stem from bad roots.
Slaves, criminals and religious fundamentalists.
It all seems like GW are implying that you will turn bad, if you start off bad.
Without the chance to rebound and better themselves because the salvation was denied by betrayal or inactivity of others.
Tough one though, despite his brutal “upbringing” and exposure to such darkness, I still feel my top choice has to Corvus, he went through a great deal too many years later and despite everything going on, he still took the fight to enemy on their own turf even to the point of it corrupting him to mutation, he still kept / keeps his loyalty to the Imperium, to hunt down brothers like him for their betrayal, that for me is total and utter dedication and commitment against all odds and his anger, hatred and epic desire for vengeance has been his greatest weapon, but that just my opinion ✅
