In this video we go over the Asics Gelhoop V16:
Cushion and comfort continue to be balanced perfectly - there’s no surprises with the setup, featuring a full-length Flytefoam midsole with their signature Gel cushioning in the rearfoot. It gives you a nice and smooth ride, great court feel, no pinching or discomfort from the upper materials either. My only issue experienced with this pair has been the traction performance on a very dusty court. I’ve had a few instances where I was sliding out there, and my guess is that it has a lot to do with this “extra durable” version (grey colorway) putting an added layer on the outsole. Otherwise, this is a fantastic shoe to play in and you should be good to go with most of the other colorways - they’re light, fast, stable and responsive enough at the same time.

From what ive heard. V2 only has better courtfeel compared to v1, due to less cushion thickness.

Thank you! Tbh I try not to compare techs directly cause they can turn out quite differently on different models.
On the official Asics website in Taiwan, this model is called GELHOOP V16 S, and it's slightly heavier than the regular version(30g US9)
I guess that's the downside of having an extra durable outsole.
Yes and I’m guessing that traction on dust took a hit because of this specific version too.
i play volleyball with asics volleyball and hoop shoes and they’re all great, i haven’t tried this model yet tho i might cop the white and purple ones simple but clean, and did i saw the new gel burst at the end ????, thanks for the amazing performance review as always

As someone who plays both sports, I've found that volleyball players tend to explore basketball shoes more because basketball footwear has seen significant development lately, with many models offering comparable performance to big names like Sky and Netburner in every aspect (comfort, responsiveness, durability, aesthetics, etc.).
Asics produces basketball shoes that perform decently, but their pricing is quite unfavorable. In both videos about Gelhoop and Gelburst, as well as Nova Surge 2, the channel owner Tommy Liu praised their performance but criticized their high price and hard to buy. This sentiment holds true; in Vietnam, it's rare to find basketball players wearing Asics shoes, but Chinese shoes of Li-Ning, Anta, 361 are very cheap, half the price compared to the US because we ordered them directly from China, as it's like searching for a needle in a haystack. However, among volleyball players, the usage of Asics basketball shoes is much more common.

Where did you get your Asics fix from? Asics Japan carries 2E, 4E but they aren't selling them overseas. Not sure if any other countries' Asics are able to sell overseas.
Can't find a proper 4E pair in Singapore, most of their retail outlets here only carry running or lifestyle. Their factory outlets only carry limited old stocks and no wide sizes.
It's been frustrating hunting a proper Asics bball shoes for me. Haha
China. I see yeah their availability still isn’t great outside of Japan no doubt…

Good, more durable than other regular Asics hoop shoes. But traction for indoors is not as good unfortunately.
Do you know the netburner ballistic ff3? I plan on getting them for basketball because my playstyle is rooted in speed, whats your opinion on those?
Not sure sorry - just looked it up the setup seems quite different too from what I’m familiar with. But looks fantastic!
The net burner ballistics 3 can be used for basketball however, it lacks cushion in my opinion due to stack height being smaller.
The model is a netball shoe so it does do basketball decently well just not as much cushion.

@@TommyLiu4 I think something was wrong. May be you tried Gelhoop v16s. The "s" are outdoor version of v16 and traction of s isn't good for indoor. But v16 regular is very well
