I called friday to see if they can fit her in but they said no, and her injury was getting smelly. I went in saturday and they told me “Next time it happens bring her in earlier and not wait so long”…… I didn’t say anything but I was stressed and overwhelmed, even now bc she has an infection in her ears, she needs to take in liquid medicine for the injury and her infection and she wont let me give her medicine, we have tried to scruff her, wrap her in a towel, hold her still- idk what to do anymore at this point. I live alone & this video was super helpful. The first couple attempts were a struggle but then I started giving him his favourite treat while wrapped up. It’s been 2 weeks & I think it’s his favourite part of the day now. Doesn’t flinch at at all with the eye ointment & even likes to chill in the burrito for a little while afterwards. This is adorable!! Glad to see that you love your cats and they were given medicine in the least cruel way possible. If only they used the towel wrap for administering medication to cattle on farms!!
This is the most helpful video I’ve seen yet. The old girl I adopted from The RSPCA has ongoing ear problems and the vet supplied cleaning fluid treatment is proving to be quite stressful for us both. I’ve been doing the towel wrap on my lap, but will definitely try your method next. Thank you.

We’ve been chasing our cat around for 2hours. We’re moving today. We bought 2kinds of cbd calming treats, tried them out ahead of time to make sure they’re ok. We’ll today Miss Nala says no way,no how. She won’t take either. We tried tuna in the carrier. She jumps out too fast. I have severe arthritis and limited in how fast I move and how much I can bend. I’ve used the towel but have to grab her quick. She won’t just sit there. Oh well. Our cat is a sweetie. She was a stray for a year (as a kitten) and probably wasn’t picked up much. She is a love bug otherwise.
It's very different when they don't feel well and have been to the vet and tired of people messing with them. Of course they are going to cooperate when it's not important. But we get the idea. Thanks!
Jason thank you so much for showing the towel technique. It is the only way I can administer eye drops or liquid medicine. You are a life saver thanks thanks thanks😀
I just gave my kitten part of her worming syringe and I really had to hold her down to get that liquid medicine into her house. Now I feel awful. I have to give her the same for 2 more days, so I will definitely try this towel trick as I think the quicker I can give her the medicine, the less distressing it will be for her. I really don't want her to hate me. Thanks for the tip
I cracked up when the orange cat wouldn't come out from under the desk! Definitely have had that experience before. Also, grey cat's face when he was wrapped up was priceless.
My cat is extremely anxious so this video was an absolute God send I had no idea how I was going to get meds into her today...,,3 different meds and twice a day.. I will attempt it tomorrow with soft food Thanks million again🙏
It's great to think back when I subbed at a couple hundred subs. It's so awesome to see how your channel has grown. It was like yesterday when I watched a video with 600 views and I was like: wow! That's way more than usual! And here we are, it's 3,000 subs. Your channel is amazing and you dserve much more than this ev n still. Luv ur content, and just realized how long this comment is😐but anyway, keep creating, ur doing great!!!😸👍
Thank you for supporting me from the early days! I'm really excited with the rate I've been growing, especially the past month or two! I'm hoping to keep up the rate and grow faster, and it's all thanks to supportive people like you :D Haha and don't ever worry about long comments! Sometimes there is a lot to say!
I tried this, it worked! The most important step is getting the cat used to the towel as he mentions. I never thought it would work but it did... they were hungry so when i knelt down at the towel they came right up to me!
I just tried wrapping with a hand towel because it was handy, and I can vouch for the need of a larger size towel. My cat just peed from the "terror" 🤭and I think the larger towel would have caught it. So I thank you for your video and will def use large towel next time. An added benefit of a towel wrap, not only to protect yourself from scratches or bites.
Hahaha it was so out of character for her to be the chill one! And they were all cute, but Moo Moo especially looked like a cute little Porg in the towel! With big old dough eyes :) :) :)
Great video, but my problem is partially ME because I'm "older' (ok...old) and if I get down on the floor to capture them in the towel, THAT'S where I'm gonna' be until the cat has been freed from the towel 'cause some of us older folks have knee problems that make it nearly impossible to get up from the floor. I have an old feral boy (with s TINY tame streak) who needs to go to the vet for a prednisone injection, but since the LAST time he was coerced into a cage to take him, he's gotten "wiser" and he's NOT going into the cage for his food. Been trying for over 2 weeks at this point! He's NOT gettin' on a raised surface if a human is around EITHER! But, your tip about getting them used to the towel under them is a VERY good one... I'm sure it will come in handy with my inside cats when it's vet time; they'll be easier since they all get on the bed! LOL
Yeah!!! Your method worked with my Shih Tzu needing oral medication. There are cats larger than her so thought I would watch your video and super glad I did. I'm not even sure what I put in the search bar but there you were with your kitties, wrapping them up. Just used your method and it's the first time her medicine was going where it's suppose to go rather than every where else. Much appreciation to you!!!!!!!
My shih tzu is very dismissive. All I have to do is grab her name and push her down with my forearm. Now my cat on the other hand? She just spits out her medicine. 😞 it’s a pain but at least she’s getting a little bit of it.
I have just given Khloe her oral liquid antibiotic, using your method. It went really well. I'm extremely relieved, as this is day 5, and it's the first time it went smoothly. I'm very grateful. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. Hubby and I practically bathed in alcohol from all the scratches after attempting to give kitty THREE liquid meds this evening. Ouch!
I like how every video about how to wrap a troublesome cat in a towel doesn't involve a troublesome cat.. Good luck wrapping a cat which knows you're going to wrap him and doesn't want to be wrapped.
@@labraham1025 There's no easy solution, but you don't want to startle the cat or try to trick them. It only makes things worse later on because they are smart. Best thing to do is get your cat used to being held or touched. Then you place them on the towel. Grip them firmly with one hand and use the other to drape the ends of the towel over them. The cats head should be facing away from you. Using one hand you pull on the cats neck from the front toward you so they can't move forward or backwards.
Thanks for the details. It's been many years since I've had a really difficult cat and a cat demon next door who comes and attacks my cats in broad daylight. Hence the need to medicate. She's otherwise a very sweet and retiring kitty but with meds, it's scratch, claw, hiss and OW! BTW for judgy people I was outside with the cats; it still happened. *1/2 hour later* tried a trial run with 7 month-old very rambunctious male (neutered) kitten. Even with scruffing (he got insulted) I could NOT secure him in the towel. Those back legs were like clawed kicking stilts, no way I could wrap him. Good thing he's not the one I'll be medicating.
I needed this. I've got to give my cat ear medicine and I've been dreading it so this was helpful. Also, your black cat is my cat's twin🐈⬛. Thank you for this video✌🏾
Thank you. I appreciate your making this video. It was entertaining and educational. Also you are so good with your cats and they really trust you.❤ My cat is being an absolute nightmare to give oral liquid antibiotics to, and I've only recently gained her trust. She's so mad with me. Anyway, hopefully this will help.
Thanks for showing this method with actually difficult cats. I'm tired of vet videos with the most docile cats ever who basically sleep through the whole thing. If my cat were that easy, I wouldn't need the friggin towel! I have a young, wiggly, willful cat. I need to see how it's done in real life!
Hi is your cat a Bombay? We have our second Bombay by chance second one started coming to us outside and she's ours now. Our 1st one of 17 years passed away a month before. So God had his hand in it. Our vet confirmed she's definitely full blood Bombay! She looks just like your kitty.
We used to do this to our cats all the time, but we just basically put them in the middle, with one edge under their neck and grabbed the two ends of the towel with one hand over their back, and made sure to block them from backing up with our body, so they couldn't go forward or backward. Usually worked well. One does need to practice, but it's a great technique.
Thank you for posting this video! You shared some very helpful tips on how to do a purrito. I was successful in giving my uncooperative cat ear medicine with your great tips. Thanks again!
Eventually, what worked best for my cat & I was a tablet hidden in Easy Giver putty and coated in Lick-E-Lix chicken flavour. He wolfs it down without even realising it!
my cat has a wound thats bleeding again, basically we wrap it , spray it, sometimes after spraying it would bleed then it wouldn't. He is on a appetite stim and we gave him a little more to help him eat more, he hasn't been eating last few days much, we would lower the appete stim back and he doeskin eat but seems the bleeding on the wound stops. I think for some reason I think above the wound there is a area that is hard like blood pooling into the wound or something.
Thank you guys so much! I'm gonna try this in a hour and comment how it worked out for me! My cat is the sweetest but bit the tech vet yesterday and I'm scared he will bite me when I give him meds alone today!!
I love your vibe. My cats let me do anything so im thankful but my 5 yr old big momma has started resisiting getting her nails cut so im preparing lol. Also Luna is GORGEOUS.
How I wish our kitty would sit on the towel and let us wrap her as yours did. There are lots of personalities in kitties. Ours doesn’t have that kind. Thank you, though.
How would you modify this to trim the nails, in particular the front paws? I have a 15 month old very long and strong Balinese that I trapped. After 10 months he has tamed down but is not used to being handled so he spooks easily. Any tips for this type of cat? I'm happy to share a video if that would be helpful. By the way, your video was really good. Most that show this technique don't do a very good job of showing the steps.
Would love to hear your suggestions for being able to get my cat to hold still and not bite me or scratch my arms all up so that I can trim the mats off of her. Thanks so much for your videos they have helped so far I love them
OK, I'll be doing this (or attempting to) in a couple of hours, with my very resistant cat who also refuses to eat wet food OR treats (I'll try butter). I might have to ask my husband for help, but hope not, since he's more resistant than the cat!
How did you do? I have to start medicating my cat after finding out today that he has Caudal Stomatitis. His mouth is so sore that the only way he will eat is with this pain medicine. I'm so scared… I just wanna do right by my best friend :(
Wow never thought of that I’ve already become a professional cat grappler. My female cat who used to be feral really hates when I give her worming medicine for tapeworm she even yells at me while I’m doing it. We make up with a nice bowl of freeze dries. Had to learn she keeps the pill right in the back of her mouth and would spit it out so I have the check her after and make sure she swallows.
Another good way is the crush up the pill and put it in baby food, cats seem to love baby food ! You could even do that with liquid medicine but you may have to give it twice because if you put too much medicine in the cat will be able to Distinguish the taste.
I want to thank u!! This video helped me tons. I watched other ones. But this one has the tip to put the knees on the towel.thanks again!! It really helps when u have a lil rebel of a cat!!
3 outta 4 of mine are fantastic and so very sweet. Satin, Zoey, and Tootsie. They are the sweet females, but the solid black boy named Rhumba is not having it at all. His scruff doesn’t make him still and he can still claw you easily. He is scared to death of taking medicine even though he’s never been in a traumatic situation except for being fixed. He used to love car rides but after getting him fixed he now has super bad anxiety and pukes and has seizures in the car. He’s a good fat boy but he’s a super scaredy cat.
Thanks..going to give my friends cat liquid meds..hope I can do it as easily...he is usually fearful of people.. it not been feeling well and has become overly friendly due to it..so hope all goes easily
Great tips. I think the mistake I've been making is making my burrito then trying to move it to another location. Will try to make my burrito in the dosing area and see how that goes. Lol
What about a cat that is growling, hissing, striking out, and trying to bite? I noticed the hands are very close to the cat's mouth in the wrapping process.
Our cat turns into a dragon every now and again, applying ear drops being one of the times. We've tried your method and it worked surprisingly well. Thank you for the video! I think the key is to wrap the cat before it gets too mental
My cat has really bad feline acne its been like more then 3 weeks i took her to the vet and they gave me liquid medicine to apply on her chin but she doesn’t let me hold her to apply it i’ve trieddd everythinggg she runs away hides somewhere and scratches me idk what to do 😭
I used this it works. Our cat fights to the death when medication time comes. She has kidney disease and we get bottles of pre filled syringes of pain killer she needs twice a day. Without the towel it wouldn't be possible
I am so grateful I found your video! This one helped the most. I’ve been trying to give my cat liquid meds through a syringe for the last few days and have struggled to keep him secure and also to keep me calm lol. I feel so stressed every time, because he looks so uncomfortable and flinches when I put the syringe in his mouth. But, having him on the floor, placing him on the towel, and using your wrapping method really kept my cat still! One thing I’ll add too is to squirt the meds quickly into the back of your cat’s throat...I had to learn this hard way after attempting to give him a slow dribble (because I was afraid of choking him) but I think that’s much worse than a quick squirt, because then they taste the meds longer and get progressively more disgruntled and vicious. TL;DR thank you so much, you are a lifesaver for me and my cat!
I need to give oral syringe medication to a feral cat that I managed to bring inside over a year ago, yet she STILL remains feral. I don’t think there’s any way I can even catch her to get her wrapped in a towel! Wish me luck ~ tomorrow or the next day I’m going to get up my nerve to try!
Your black cat is precious. Looks like my baby Bloo. Thanks for this video. I'm desperately finding ways to make oral administration easier on my CKD kitty. She drives me crazy with how fussy she is. Worried parent thanking you here!
Winning WW2 was easier than giving my cat a pill.

Your cats are so cute! They are difficult in that you expect them to be difficult for this video but instead they are super sweet!
Thank you for making this video. It was very helpful and has saved my hands and arms from bites and scratches.
Black cat is a star in front of the camera.
Good real life tips! We've had to give medicine to our cat, so your video is helpful.
My cat is extremely anxious so this video was an absolute God send
I had no idea how I was going to get meds into her today...,,3 different meds and twice a day..
I will attempt it tomorrow with soft food
Thanks million again🙏
God bless you for this. I’m getting a Bengal soon and I know at some point I’m going to have to trim his nails which is a little daunting
I think it's personality and just getting them more and more used to it :)
I'm hoping to keep up the rate and grow faster, and it's all thanks to supportive people like you :D
Haha and don't ever worry about long comments! Sometimes there is a lot to say!
😁 happy to help!
Oh my goodness, most adorable kitty burrito. Thank you for these tips!
You're welcome! I hope they help!
I love that Luna was like whatever. 😂
And they all made adorable purritos!
Hahaha it was so out of character for her to be the chill one!
And they were all cute, but Moo Moo especially looked like a cute little Porg in the towel! With big old dough eyes :) :) :)
Haha yes!
LOL
your cats are quite not like my cat it pit me and fight this blanket 😞
It may not work for everyone. My only guess would be to try to remain calm and work quickly :)
@@CatsandPats Repetition is also key. The more you GENTLY work with kitty the more he or she will accept it.
Scareface Leslie my cat is so strong
I just recently commented, try the baby food method
That's awesome Carol! I'm glad it worked for your puppy dog! :)
Have you gone through that? What worked for you? My cat is impossible
@@labraham1025
There's no easy solution, but you don't want to startle the cat or try to trick them.
Beautiful cats. Will be trying this on my beautiful gangster cat tomorrow.
Thanks bruh! You changed my whole I-hate-dosing-my-cat vibes
Different matter if your cat BITES! LOL! But yes great idea. Much appreciated.
Ha ha! I love watching your vids Jason! Those cats just LOVE YOU!
This worked great! My cat is super difficult although I love him of course. Anyway I had my fears but this worked perfect. Thank you!!
Thanks for the tips! :)
I have a cat who literally fights tooth and nails! This video was a huge help.
I have a cat who had blisters under her chin. She clenches her teeth an squims. Makes it impossible to get the liquid into her month?
Mine too. Clenches as to refuse anything coming into her mouth. So stressful for us both. HELP!
I don't have a cat but I'm watching all of these cat care tutorials anyways ...
my cat has a wound thats bleeding again, basically we wrap it , spray it, sometimes after spraying it would bleed then it wouldn't.
Haha I hope it went well for you Alice! :)
Thank you!! You saved my cat!!
it is not easy with an uncooperative kitty but i was able to get it done following your methods, thanks for that.
Last time I wrapped him with a blanket everytime he saw the blanket he would run. He's very resistant to medicine.
Another good way is the crush up the pill and put it in baby food, cats seem to love baby food ! You could even do that with liquid medicine but you may have to give it twice because if you put too much medicine in the cat will be able to Distinguish the taste.
I read about this technique in James Herriott's vet stories but never saw it demonstrated before. Thank you
I would like to see you demonstrate how to clip their nails with wrapping them in a towel. thank you
Thanks for making the video but What do you do when they refuse to open their mouth to get the meds in?
I want to thank u!! This video helped me tons. I watched other ones. But this one has the tip to put the knees on the towel.thanks again!! It really helps when u have a lil rebel of a cat!!
I just open gently my cat's jaw, giving her a medicine and she swallows it. Is she in 0.01%?😂 btw her name is Luna 😏
Haha I would say you are very lucky :)
@@CatsandPats Luna's are just unusual 😃
3 outta 4 of mine are fantastic and so very sweet. Satin, Zoey, and Tootsie. They are the sweet females, but the solid black boy named Rhumba is not having it at all. His scruff doesn’t make him still and he can still claw you easily. He is scared to death of taking medicine even though he’s never been in a traumatic situation except for being fixed. He used to love car rides but after getting him fixed he now has super bad anxiety and pukes and has seizures in the car. He’s a good fat boy but he’s a super scaredy cat.
Things that didn’t happen.
Thanks..going to give my friends cat liquid meds..hope I can do it as easily...he is usually fearful of people.. it not been feeling well and has become overly friendly due to it..so hope all goes easily
You are adorable with your cats
Great tips. I think the mistake I've been making is making my burrito then trying to move it to another location. Will try to make my burrito in the dosing area and see how that goes. Lol
With our black devil, you would already be missing your first finger at 5:25 😂
What about a cat that is growling, hissing, striking out, and trying to bite? I noticed the hands are very close to the cat's mouth in the wrapping process.
Luna is such an adorable baby!!!!
Our cat turns into a dragon every now and again, applying ear drops being one of the times. We've tried your method and it worked surprisingly well. Thank you for the video! I think the key is to wrap the cat before it gets too mental
My cat has really bad feline acne its been like more then 3 weeks i took her to the vet and they gave me liquid medicine to apply on her chin but she doesn’t let me hold her to apply it i’ve trieddd everythinggg she runs away hides somewhere and scratches me idk what to do 😭
Keep trying, hopefully it will get easier! Also, feel free to keep asking your vet, they may be able to give you good tips!
TY Mr. Mu, Luna and Big Orange for demonstrating
I used this it works. Our cat fights to the death when medication time comes. She has kidney disease and we get bottles of pre filled syringes of pain killer she needs twice a day. Without the towel it wouldn't be possible
Great Advice ! Thanks
Thanks, I will use this method.
