When Prof Irwin Corey died at 102 years in 2017, my heart broke. Yes, he was working after 100, but if he’d left us after working ‘til he was 130 it *still* would’ve been too soon! We *need* him!

Shelley Berman told me it was wonderful working with him in those last years. Larry Monroe told me that the Prof could smoke anyone under the table (reefer-wise, of course). And never forget that "air raid" spelled backwards is "diarria"!

I never heard of this guy until about 20 minutes ago. He was a mystery guest on What's My Line. This video was shot about 10 years after that and he looked exactly the same. He lived to age 102 in 2017 and was working past age 100

Back in 1977 I was a cook at the playboy club . In Dallas Professor Corey performed at our showroom. The
walkin cooler was in the hall where the performers dressing rooms were . That's where I first met Corey. He asked me if I had joint. Well it just so happened that i did. So he invited to his dressing room and we smoked that joint. Over the next few years I. would smoke dobees with him. We had many good talks . He was kind of a leftist and I was a capitialest. We never got mad at each other. Anyway i really liked and respected him. He was a good man! Rest in peace professor . Thank you for enriching my life!

One of the 3 most unique comedians ever, along with Brother Theodore and Andy Kaufman. Working for the airlines in the late 1970's I saw a lot of celebrities coming in or going out on flights. I remember seeing Professor Corey coming down the walkway one night with a friend, and I was too far away to hear what he was saying but the arms were going and obviously he was in the middle of one of his incomprehensible soliloquy's cause the other guy was laughing his ass off. Saw the "Professor" live at Corry Station in Pensacola, Fla in early 1968. He was part of a show put on by Operation Entertainment hosted by Ed Ames. He did a routine on "Why is there air?" He said, "That is a 2-part question. First, 'Why?' is the eternal question." He then rambled on for quite a while on "Why?" Finally, he said, "The second part of the question is 'is there air?' Of course!"

Late night guests seem so straitlaced and overly prepared these days. I love Letterman and how he was able to invite people on the show that danced along the edge and made things feel a little more wild.
