My only wishes for tonight are Belgium, Slovenia, Austria and Australia to qualify. I think your prediction is spot on. If there's any semi where a lot can change around it's this one though, it's really going to come down to how things look on the screen.
My prediction (10/10 in semi 1, im hoping for 8 or 9 today) 1. Slovenia (Its a masterpiece and will be in contention for top 5 in the televote in the final) 2. Austria (Very fun and Catchy will also have a great Televote in the final) 3. Australia (It is closing which boosts it a lot and its already a strong song) 4. Cyprus (The staging looks fantastic) 5. Lithuania (Huge diaspora voting, also a strong song and Likely Q without it) 6. Armenia (Amazing song, she is also very beautiful, Very likely Q) 7. Belgium (A party song in a semi with quite a few sadder songs, will stand out) 8. Estonia (Its a fairly strong Ballad and should qualify like Switzerland) 9. Albania (I had it as NQ before but the staging is amazing) 10. Georgia (This could NQ, it just doent feel like a televote song, with juries it would 100% Q) 11. Denmark (It has some audience but i dont think its strong enough to Q) 12. Poland (Poland have a hug ediaspora which will help it a lot but i cant see it doing very well, could borderline Q tho) 13. Greece (Great song but just not strong enough in any of the ways to qualify) 14. Iceland (She has great charisma but the song has nothing) 15. Im struggling so much with this semi. Romania is my absolute favourite and has been since i heard it, but im scared voting for it is just a waste of money at this point. I love Slovenia too (3rd for me overal, 2nd this semi) but i dont want to abandon Theodor like that. Guess I'll have to make up my mind after i see the performances but damn wish i had the money for more votes

@@dajzamajza Depends on where you live. Estonia you need €1,70 per vote while in the UK it's 15 cents or something. Also, i thought in Denmark you are not allowed to vote more than once per act? These are things i've read & might misremember. If Sarah is from Estonia i'd be tempted to send money, to have more votes for others ie, less for bl~nk~. Cannot vote in this semi & i so much want some things that are borderline to go through, not just because they are good songs, but also the other reason. before your final prediction. i talked to you about who will vote for whom on balkan. so here is some insider info why it is hard to predict for who will serbia vote. Singers from Slovenia and Austria (Teya) are Serbs and that is something which is mentioned on our TV during show. Croatian singer is also Serb but that is not mentioned becouse nobody in Let 3 care for their etnicity, they are punkers and they dont care about that. Of these 3 Teya grow up in Serbia and even tried few years ago to represent Serbia. So my opinion is that votes are going to be split between those 3 and of course Finland and Sweden. It is hard to predict who will get 12 points but i think it is going to be Austria. I think SLO and CRO will give Serbia 12 points. Our ppl whoes live in europe in majority like folk songs so we wont get much points from them but i expect few points from a lot of countries becose gamers live everywhere. I am not sure how will Romania vote, except that moldova gets 12 points :) , i guess 10 points goes to Ukraine. For Croatia the main problem is that majority of ppl would not know this is very serious song aginst warmongering dictators (khm, khm, putin, khm, khum) and it wont get a lot of points on west and central europe. I think they will get a lot of points in region and in east europe. SLO will be at bottom but 100% deserve to be in final. Albania is a tricky one to predict. This is realy good song by balkan standards but they are in bad relations with a lot of countries. Hey Tom! Last night was a bit of a bloodbath. I actually had the same concerns about Georgia after the rehearsal. And the vocals weren't great on the night. So I had 9/10 in my predictions, but I did say that I could see Georgia go out and Estonia or possibly Denmark take their place the final. I changed my mind in the afternoon yesterday, but because I stuck with my gut in predictions in SF1 and got 10/10 I thought I'd leave Georgia there. But I did have a 50/50 Estonia/Georgia. I really feel for Iru, it was such a pit for her :( I cried seeing Gustaph be announced, and have a video of our reaction watching it at my friend's place.

Cutting it fine, haven't been able to pay too much attention to the news about this Semi (so I haven't been able to account for anything that's come out today in particular) but my algorithm/spreadsheet goes for: Austria Armenia Australia Slovenia Belgium Estonia Cyprus Georgia Lithuania Albania Out of the overall 37, 9 of the bottom 12 were from this Semi, so I think that tells its own story, though. Those last three spots are a little wide open.
Yeah alright, 19/20 across both. Just Poland for Georgia (which I knew about the negative momentum for, just underestimated it, clearly). I did actually pop a little bet on Georgia NQing despite my spreadsheet results. The bookies were far to generous on that price and I could feel something wasn't right there.
Estonia blew my mind! She was nowhere near my qualifiers and after live I put her in my 3rd place in semifinal 2. Georgia... I knew she wouldn't qualify. I've heard the song at least 100 times on Spotify before I started skipping it. You can barely understand any words, and those you do make absolutely no sense. However, her vocals were on point so it's a shame. But to be honest, even though Solo is basic, I enjoy it much more and she didn't sang terribly like in polish NF. But the dance break... there was only one done amazingly this year and that was Israel. Hope you have enough rest and have time to actually enjoy yourself too.

I only disagree on Estonia and Belgium. I think Belgium is likely in while I fear Estonia might go the route of Sudden Lights and simply be too quiet a moment before a storm of fun obfuscates it. That plus Lithuania and Albania being on later makes me worry for Estonia, I do wish to be wrong though. Currently I have Australia, Austria, Slovenia, Armenia, Lithuania, Georgia, Cyprus Belgium and.... sigh Poland and Denmark as my predictions... my gut goes against belgium because the voting countries have more conservative audiences in SF2 compared to SF1 which had way more countries with liberal audiences. But i want them to get through.

Swap Albania and Estonia, and I agree with this prediction. Albania is the only ethnic entry and one of only three non-English entries. Plus Albania has lots of neighbors in this semi. But I could also see Denmark or Greece instead of Albania or Estonia or even Belgium. Hard to predict the borderline group.

Hey Tom! Last night was a bit of a bloodbath. I actually had the same concerns about Georgia after the rehearsal. And the vocals weren't great on the night. So I had 9/10 in my predictions, but I did say that I could see Georgia go out and Estonia or possibly Denmark take their place the final. I changed my mind in the afternoon yesterday, but because I stuck with my gut in predictions in SF1 and got 10/10 I thought I'd leave Georgia there. But I did have a 50/50 Estonia/Georgia.
I really feel for Iru, it was such a pit for her :( I cried seeing Gustaph be announced, and have a video of our reaction watching it at my friend's place.
Cyprus should sing with no backing vocals! Everyone shouted at Austria last year, but at Cyprus, Israel and Poland it's accepted!

Cutting it fine, haven't been able to pay too much attention to the news about this Semi (so I haven't been able to account for anything that's come out today in particular) but my algorithm/spreadsheet goes for:

Out of the overall 37, 9 of the bottom 12 were from this Semi, so I think that tells its own story, though. Those last three spots are a little wide open.
Yeah alright, 19/20 across both. Just Poland for Georgia (which I knew about the negative momentum for, just underestimated it, clearly). I did actually pop a little bet on Georgia NQing despite my spreadsheet results. The bookies were far to generous on that price and I could feel something wasn't right there.
Estonia blew my mind! She was nowhere near my qualifiers and after live I put her in my 3rd place in semifinal 2. Georgia... I knew she wouldn't qualify. I've heard the song at least 100 times on Spotify before I started skipping it. You can barely understand any words, and those you do make absolutely no sense. However, her vocals were on point so it's a shame. But to be honest, even though Solo is basic, I enjoy it much more and she didn't sang terribly like in polish NF. But the dance break... there was only one done amazingly this year and that was Israel. Hope you have enough rest and have time to actually enjoy yourself too.
If Poland qualifies and Estonia not, I’m done with Eurovision.

I only disagree on Estonia and Belgium. I think Belgium is likely in while I fear Estonia might go the route of Sudden Lights and simply be too quiet a moment before a storm of fun obfuscates it. That plus Lithuania and Albania being on later makes me worry for Estonia, I do wish to be wrong though.

my gut goes against belgium because the voting countries have more conservative audiences in SF2 compared to SF1 which had way more countries with liberal audiences. But i want them to get through.

I changed my mind about Albania because first the staging is way improved and second in the first semi final all non English songs went through I think the ethnic fans will go for it. Swap Albania and Estonia, and I agree with this prediction. Albania is the only ethnic entry and one of only three non-English entries. Plus Albania has lots of neighbors in this semi. But I could also see Denmark or Greece instead of Albania or Estonia or even Belgium. Hard to predict the borderline group.
