After learning a version of that song at an oceanography summer camp I later sang it to Boy Scouts for 20 years. Here are some added, maybe implausible verses:
Houndog, no puppies would it make = Pooched eggs
Redwood tree, no trees would it make = Eggplant
Waffle iron, no waffles would it make = Eggos
Wok, no noodles would it fry = Eggrolls
Bubblegum machine, no gum would it give = Chicklets

This is a traditional Shetland song not Irish at all, the tune is well known in Denmark also, the Shetlanders got it from the Norse/Danish vikings
