@@Northstar-Media I think you'll find if people know they're being filmed, they're less likely to cause any trouble, generally speaking of course! Fair enough, it's not a patch on what is happening in Ukraine but right now in the UK it's about as close to a war zone as we'll get. I grew up just south of Manchester and a trip into Stockport town centre or Manchester on the train was a regular weekend thing. I've seen the changes, back then it was a lot safer, less trouble, no open drug taking like there is now, maybe it was there but it wasn't as public, it was hidden away. There certainly wasn't as big a homeless or mental health issue back then on the streets as there is now. It's a huge problem now and is often the catalyst to other problems, like theft, fighting, assault, general disorder and breaches of the peace. Charlie getting in the thick of it and filming it, highlights the issue and gets people discussing the problems which we all know our city centres are suffering but we all often just step over the problems or walk around them and ignore, hopefully getting these videos in the public domain helps to shine a light on the issues and shames the authorities into actually doing something about it. A bit like what is happening with the moped gangs that go out robbing people and businesses in London. Hearing the addicts speek brings back so much memories for me. I was never a drug addict or drinker but I did have 2 friends no just one that was drug addicts and watching/hearing them talk to each other was like a brand new language so I got my phone out and recorded for a few mins. I showed the friend that is still alive it and that moment she decided she had, had enough. that was almost 7 years ago now, and she has never looked back even with the hardest thing any woman/parents could go thro she still stayed clean. I asked why she decided right then and her answershocked me " I have never seen myself like that and it scared me". Thank god it did as 5 weeks later her then ex for 5 week died of a overdose. She never thought about it but that would have been her too. I am so proud of her. I wish I could let her know but I don't think she believes me.
