Hi there.I'm in an enviable position where I have a pass from the XYL to get a new radio and I've always wanted a 5000, now I'm looking at the prices I'm starting to wonder if I should be a little more sensible and go for the 3000. In your opinion as you've used both what would I miss out on if I went for the 3000 & saved £1800 odd pounds. Thanks in advance for any thoughts, Martin - M0MLZ.
Honestly - The 5000MP pips the 3000 on almost every level. The 3000 is a very good radio but as said for my money the 5000MP would be a better all round radio in any respects.

A MD-1 mic think is a better mic than the MD-100 I have had them both and your right the MD-100 does have a higher pitch to it.
it looks like the buttons are NOT backlight!! can this be??
