Interesting way of trying to get it right for one's voice. Thanks for the "boring" presentation, very helpful.

Finally, simple and perfect "orientation" for Yaesu Parametric EQ!!! Thanks a lot for "boring"" explanation. 😉👍👌

As a DR editor, i am able to relate 100%, even though you thought it was boring, this was super helpful. I copied my recordings from the radio and worked in DR to see what the result was.
Since I edit my own voice already, this was a perfect example of how to view the process and it really helped me to understand what the radio wants. I am really happy you took the time to make this video in the way you did. Thank you.

Thanks for this, I have had my 3000-D for a little over 4 years now. There are some things that took me a while to figure out. MOSTLY, the EQ for the processor WILL NOT work unless the MIC EQ is ON. The MIC EQ will be BYPASSED when the Processor is ON. What most don't know, is the Processor also has a LIMITER / COMPRSSOR! Took me over 4 years for another Yaesu owner to point that out to me.
I have an EV-320E on my radio. I use the compressor at #1 which helps keep your audio drive in check and evened out when you move back from the mic during use. I am a net controller 4 nights a week, and go for a 'broadcast' audio character, you can really do it with this radio (O:
You can also run this radio in ESS (4K TX band width) which really gives the radio a nice upper clarity.

      Hi Gary!
Thanks for your comment. Not sure I understood you correctly. The FTdx3000 has two independent sets of equalizer parameters. One that is used when PROC is off and one that is used when PROC is on.
      So there are 4 options:
all off, only proc, only mic eq (with Parameter set 1), proc + mic eq (with Parameter set 2).
So with MIC EQ enabled, when you switch on PROC, then the eq switches to the other set of parameters. If you had not set them up both (probably differently) it may seem like the processor enables or disables the MIC EQ. (Whether PROC enabled without any MIC EQ enabled works and makes any sense I don't know.) In the menu system the EQ settings used when PROC is enabled are prefixed with "P-" if I remember correctly.
Yes the radio is VERY nice for Ragchew and wide audio... Getting it Narrow and staying well within 2.4k with maximum energy within is a bit trickier. The IC-705 does that by just setting the TX bandwidth. I have the feeling you need to keep an eye on both TX bandwidth AND EQ settings on the FTdx3000 to achieve that. Alas maybe I am talking nonsense. I would need to do waaaay more SSB QSOs to be allowed an opinion on that. 😉
      Enjoy the hobby! 73
