The 65 was me and I built it. I have totaled it twice. The last time rebuilt the car was 23 years ago. New motor and transmission recently but even the paint job is 23 years old.

I am the Black, non R owner in this video with the Ford Performance banner. I run amsoil 5w50, 16k miles. No oil consumption or issues. Over 10 track days on the car. I'm also a Ford tech at a local dealership for reference as well.
I think this was more so the older models like the 15-16 or so the newer 18-20 ones or maybe it was 19 on they did some stuff to remedy the issues the earlier cars were having and I've heard the newer ones hold up better but the older ones can too theyee hit and miss kinda like Andrew said. If i was in the market for one I'd try to get at least an 18 or newer.
Engine issues are overblown with this car cuz the internet can’t appreciate anything. Buy one and enjoy it, best drivers car for a mustang ever made. It doesn’t matter if you get a gen1 or gen2 either, they both have the same problems.
We had a chance to buy a GT 500 in Reese read. But the dealer jacked up the price so high that it was like the price of a track pack GT 500 I told the guy I bought like six or eight cars from you do you really think I need to pay a $20,000 premium for this car? And his response was I’ll split the difference with you 10 grand I said screw you when I left LOL

@@tteuvky Shelby American is a company, they do custom mustangs under the name of Carrol Shelby, who founded the company and was modifying mustangs back in 1964 for racing. A Shelby GT350 is a car made by Ford , with the name Shelby on it. A Super Snake is a Mustang GT or GT500 that’s been sent to Shelby American (the company) to be modified and added to the registry. A Boss 302 is a callback to the run of cars from 1969 and 1970 that were beefed up, redone again in 2012 and 2013 as track cars. They aren’t associated with Shelby, just a better mustang GT. The terminator is a 2003 and 2004 “Cobra” that was what Ford called them from 1969 to 2007 because Shelby didn’t want his name on them. The terminator is a really beefed up mustang with a supercharger and many many other changes. The coyote is the 5.0 engine from 2011-present in the mustang GT and the F-150 pickups. Shelby allows his name on mustangs again because they basically are just beefed up mustangs with better parts and his name on them, and they make a lot of money of any of the cars they made together.

It’s kind of a hit or miss thing if you get a good one or not. Our GT350R has been great no oil consumption issues and holding good power

The GT350 has a 5.2 naturally aspirated, the GT500 is a 5.2 with a supercharger, a mustang is a 4cyl or a 6cyl and a mustang GT is a V8.
