Look forward to seeing them. Monsieur Farcy certainly did a wonderful makeover in his day. It has kept really well considering the period of emptiness.
Truly heartfelt beautiful the tears flowed from my eyes. My father, Uncle were right there during WW2 they were U.S. troops. Very happy to see your renovating it. Lovely.
There are sadly hundreds of these buildings in France, some are extremely rare, others are rather grand and would cost millions to restore, then come the upkeep and taxes and it never ends. Each chateau brought back from the brink honours those crafstmen who built them, thank you.
@@goslingfurnitureinteriorde4330 I do follow all over the place ! Such an incredible project by two such talented and tasteful people, I wish more people had your taste. I know that finances have something to do with it but taste is taste and cannot be bought. I'm sure that you go to sleep at night thinking about ideas for this room or that, maybe you get up and sketch or note them. I live in a huge old house that was unlived in for many years and I am bringing it back slowly, it keeps me up at night too. Hugs boys and mum. xoxoxo
Dear Both , I sent a message but obviously , did not appear ! I knew the castle for a good 20 years , neglected as the owner lived in the US . I myself have renovated a castle nearby and still doing it ! Have fun and courage ! Bravo ! I am deligthed you are going to revive this beautiful Château . - Best- Franck
Dear Franck. Wonderful to hear from you and to know you knew the chateau for so many years. We are really enjoying the incredible process of piecing it back together and learning about its amazing history. I think we need some of the courage you suggest! Tim

Magnificent! Speaking as a Yank, we are thrilled to see a little piece of our American history restored as well. Indeed fortunate to see it being saved from the ravages of time and neglect. Thank you. (thank you for sharing too!)

She does wonderful renovation work! Thankfully her roof and foundation were totally fine and there was only really modernization and cosmetic work needed there. Some of these chateaus in France have major structural problems and are unlivable and money pits because of how long they have been left to rot.
Michelle Bennett when Stephane moves in there were some big renovations needed, new septic tanks all the electrical wiring, all the downstairs floors were dug up and damp proofed. I think the first 5 years were tough as the heating didn’t work all the time and spent winters there freezing. It’s only now she starting to see it all come together. But as you said the roof was good which is a massive help. Xxx

Wouldn't this project be perfect for TV? It would be interesting to follow the story given the difficulty and detail, and a good example to young and old alike in perseverance!
Unsure of the specific history of this one, but many many homes in France and other countries with such high tax burdens force owners to simply leave for other countries, with abandonment the only recourse for survival.
