Simply the most exquisite display of French artistry masterfully displayed that I’ve seen in a long time- amazing, heaven. I want much more time in each room, it went way too fast for me.
I'm saving this video so I can use this as my reference for my future home. I am tired of the minimalist aesthetic -- cold, sterile, and office-like, doesn't feel like a home to me. Thank you, Jean-Louis, for showing us your passion. There's absolutely nothing like European decor as every piece has a history to it. Old world charm at its finest. 😊
I’m usually not interested in collections and collectors, but this collector is something ☺️ I can feel how much joy and appreciation he has in all his collections
My kind of house and furnishings...he has exquisite taste. Love those red chairs and lots of gold guilt. Painting horse pictures ,is one of my favourite animals to paint.
How lovely. Just to sit and be in view of the whole of all the parts together. Simply speaks of one's taste. People do have money with no taste to show their interior originality.
I like his final sentiment, that treasures ought to circulate and have new homes to be appreciated by others. It is good to collect beautiful things for themselves and not as an obsessive acquisitor.
Thank you very much, for the opportunity to see details and learn more about the topic. Open-minded people showing us this outstanding documentary, subtitled in English....
He has a lot owning two homes one in Sicily, and one in France, his collections are very vast, selling some of his objects d' art to do further repairs❤ I love your chateau, and when I come to Paris I will come to see your home. From Ms Diana LaFleur Oakland CA USA
I view this MAGNIFICENT collection of Historical treasures every chance I get... It is ABSOLUTELY, SWOON WORTHY!!! OH, how I would LOVE to stroll through these STUNNING gardens! The studios! Just to travel back in time... It's just breathtaking!
Jean-Louis Remilleux is the collector of other's stories; stunning display of priceless chandeliers, mixing periods of history and design into menagerie which whispers of the past, but that's timelessly modern.
LaDivinaLover people feel happy if they have money, but it’s the mindset of people with money risky. If a person grow up with ton of money, he suffers empty. People want to have a good taste because they want to be a socialite, or because they need that to live with money. But when they have too much of good taste in mind, it’s like an idiot.
Your comment reminds me of a movie dialogue a british wife ask her husband when he says I did all this for you. She replies to him, " For what? To bury me in this palace?". LOL!
Money are necessary but not enough ,dear. To have a house like that one also needs good physical and mental health and the good taste that only high education promotes. Otherwise you end up with Trump tower.
Why not opening the Castle for the public? Like a small museum? It will generates tourism in that area, and you will be able to carry on with the theatre refurbishment and so on. Stunning collection.
Good lord.......all that beautiful exquisite art, furniture and other collections sold to the highest bidder. I think I'm going to pass out!! That would break my heart to see all those items go.
And all to Middle Eastern or Chinese billionaires no doubt to never be seen again. To be frank though, these sorts of things always disgust me. How did this one man get all of these extraordinary things to 'collect' only to disperse them in a manner which will likely cause them to never be seen again or never even be able to be sold again since people like Middle Eastern Princes and Chinese billionaires see everything as disposable and merely buy to buy, regardless if they leave them to dryrot.
@@caligulalonghbottom2629 Your comment has more than a whiff of racism. He himself bought those items from various other wealthy people who collected for their own pleasure. No one got to see them then and only now we get to see them when he is ready to flog them on to raise money for his own chateau. What difference does it make the others are Middle Eastern princes or Chinese billionaires? Money is money and he needs it and they have it.
@@lilMissF0F0 I appreciate your comments. I think you misunderstood what I was trying to convey. In my country although, there are many, many people who deal in antiques and old items all the time. It's generally not just sold on a whim!! Again, as I said I appreciate your comments and thoughts on the matter. However, I can do w/o the profanity, and unfairly being called a racist. These types of remarks are unwelcome and unwarranted on this platform.
For centuries, art has fascinated people. The sensitivity of the audience resulted from being stimulated by cultural events, social changes, wars, etc. This is how new directions in art emerged. Today's world needs something else, and that's why Compmaturism. The works of the Compmaturists relate to today's human needs; they are emotional, devoid of routine and calculation. They are filled with art juice. That is why I love COMPMATURISM
Inoubliable ! ^_^ Merci pour le partage !
A wonderful idea to convert it into a museum. I’ve never seen so many treasures displayed in such hood taste and it’s sad to think future generations can’t see it. Not even the Lourve or the Metropolitan have such well designed displays.
I am relieved but I understand why he has to do what he must. You could say objects come and go, but the building needs to remain for future generations.
I also liked that the Russian artist Serebryakov captured in watercolors the marvelous interiors of this castle, and all this remained in the history of the great culture of France.
I'd hate to part with any of these treasures, too, but something tells me that this great connoisseur will start other collections, once he's done his restorations. He has too great a love of art, plus the collecting bug, not to start again.
i think most of you are missing the point here..he is selling a great deal of his collection..not all of it..to continue restoration on the chateau..as any owner of a chateau will tell you it is an endless moneypit to restore any chateau..he feels this one has historic significance and it is worth him selling his collection.
Very refined man with exquisite taste in art and historical artifacts. Every piece of art there has a story to tell, love to hear about it all.
Amazing, the taste of this one man, in paintings, sculpture and furniture! How did he learn so much, or is he simply blessed with exquisite taste?
And money! So, sooooo much money.
Not being american
Alice Bernedes 🤣
More like not being Trump
France has a rich legacy of institutional training in decorative arts.
Simply the most exquisite display of French artistry masterfully displayed that I’ve seen in a long time- amazing, heaven. I want much more time in each room, it went way too fast for me.
You're, sadly, mistaken. There were no great Masters (painters) or furniture makers of note. His collection is practically worthless.
Now this is a chateau! I could wander around in there for days just oogling everything....
jrgnc1......me too - isnt it gorgeous?.........Could get lost for a week in each room looking at everything in detail...its stunning.
Epitome of the good taste.

Wow ! Just an amazing building
Entire collection should have remained together its years of hard work bringing together
...it sounds like the tax man and the banks all want their money.
Merci d'avoir partagé c'est formidable.

Astonishing. Tho, to use real candles with that priceless collection-- was that wise?

I usually have to take off any program that has a French accentor ot the language in it. This guy actually sounds nice. That's a first for me.
Lol
Woooow i love this❤❤❤❤😢
Wish i could visit his chateau one day...
Something to dream for
