The song "Haifisch" by Rammstein is a powerful anthem of solidarity. The text says that even those who appear tough or stoic on the outside can hide their inner conflict. The refrain says that the "shark" has tears, but these remain invisible under water. This is related to the idea that expression of emotion should not be forgotten and should be embraced regardless of a person's outward appearance. The idea of belonging is illustrated throughout the song, with the other stanzas emphasizing the idea that everyone belongs together, no matter their difficulties. The song ends with a reminder that despite the hidden turmoil, we are all here together and in that shared strength we can find optimism.
the song "Haifisch" it is another great song about the band sticking together and being there for each other. I read that if even one member left the group that would pretty much be the end of Rammstein.
no matter what personal problems/issues they were going through....relationship problems...drugs...alcohol etc. They have always stood by and supported each other and they made it so no one member is better than the rest or what one member says goes.. no..they are all equal.

Haifisch is about the band, they cannot continue without one, no one is replaceable, they are all togheter in that family. Here the keys to understand the song

"Und der Haifisch, der hat Zähne" is a reference to the "Ballad of Mack the Knife" of the Threepenny Opera by Bertolt Brecht
I love how clever the video was to tie in all the previous videos. And even though I know it's just acting, I feel a little bit sad everytime I see Paul and Richard fighting. I much prefer to see them kiss 😍

There are so many references in the video, but also in the lyrics and the music: 'Mack the knife', just to mention one.
It's also partially inspired, for the lyrics, by a song written in 1928 by Kurt Weill and Bertold Brecht called "Die Moritat des Mackie Messer" for his "Dreigroschenoper". It was covered in English (Mack the Knife), but the lyrics are not a translation of the original, which has a very dark humor: "Und der Haifish, der hat Zähne, und die trägt er im Gesicht; der MacHeath, der, hat ein Messer, doch das Messer sieht man nicht" (And the shark, he has teeth, and he sports them in his face; MacHeath, he has a knife, but the kife, you don't see). You can check out the original by Lotte Lenya, but there are more recent covers by Ute Lemper, for instance.
I think it's also about the hypocrisy of funerals in general, were people make a huge fuss about how much they loved the deceased person, and everybody goes there, but when the person was alive, they either didn't visit though they knew he/she was lonely, or didn't do anything to help with any problems they might have had (they even often were the source of the problems).
It's about them, and the problems they had to overcome during the years of being a band :)
I think if you have any family issues you can relate to this video. The band has been together so long they are like family for better or worse. 😂 so I found this amusing in parts. You can love and hate at the same time. To be together so long as a band it’s impressive. You can see the emotion yet they still need each other. Interesting how we can all get something different out of their songs and videos. Love them. Great reaction ❤
the live version is also worth seeing, fun at a concert and fans are happy 🤘🤘😎
The catch is, that they sing how united they are - but the video shows just the opposite 😂
And the chorus is quite straightforward: they are the Haifisch, and noone sees their problems or their sadness - everything is concealed by their fame
Like a family. The good, bad and the ugly. They don’t hide it. Refreshing they are so honest in the video. Everyone has issues but work through them because you need others
The video shows how everything's unravelling if even one of them is missing. It's either Rammstein with all 6 of them, or no Rammstein at all.

Did you catch all the references to their previous videos? :D There's Du Hast, Sonne, Keine Lust, Ohne Dich and Amerika. Just all around great.

Rammstein song and videos often tell other stories, or other interpretations of them, and still leave room and thoughts for the viewer : this is art (should be)!
To really love the video you should know Brecht and Weill, like the Three Pennies Opera. Maeckie Messer was also an international hit of Frank Sinatra, and so many others for example.

It's been shared by some people before that the chorus to the song is an allusion to the lyrics of "Mack the Knife", a song written by Berthold Brecht for his play The Threepenny Opera. There are a lot of famous english versions of the song ( Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Daring, Robbie Williams, Nick Cave and so many more )
Since the original "DIE MORITAT VON MACKIE MESSER" it's musically very far from what we're dealing here, It's very interesting to go and listen to an 1983 minimal wave / synthpop version, simply titled 'Mackie' by André Szigethy th-cam.com/video/Zu_9luPPXKc/w-d-xo.html Maybe its the language but it vibes alot along with tha Haifisch (event if it's another genre) !!!

AFAIK this video/songwas a kind of belated reply to rumours that RAMMSTEIN would split.
In fact there was a period when they had thought about it (especially after the "Mutter" video, because only Till did planned video shooting and the others didn't come because they were to exhausted 1 days after after a long oversea-tour ended) which has pissed some members off when they saw the video. Their "holy" rule everybody has to agree was broken and has caused trouble within the band but thank god they have fixed this later.

I saw an interview by till that he was hunting sharks in Mexico and after idk how many months the band was reaching out to him but sense they couldn’t get ahold of him they just assumed he was dead. That’s why you see clips of different videos of the members killing him. I love the song it’s one of my favorites for sure.
I love, love, love you two reacting to these official videos! I get it when you say it's not always obvious. When you've already seen it and had time to digest and think about it it's easy to say to someone who has just seen it "don't you get it?" haha. It can take some time and maybe two or three viewings to really grasp Rammstein's art. I love them so much. Have you done Mein Land yet??

If you see the making of the band explains everything. They said that what we see in the video it's exactly the opposite in real life. I mean about their relationship. It's a song about them. The live version has subtitles.

I think the lyrics of the chorus are so strong. my personal interpretation: even though you pretend to be "strong", (like a shark) you can be sad. you cannot see from the outside how someone is feeling or what they are going through. because you have to go through with everything (the water is your life / environment) I have the word haifisch tattooed on my arm. Because I like the meaning. (Or my meaning) 😅

The lyrics reminds me to a song from the „Dreigroschen“ stage play by Bertold Brecht, a left wing composer, written in 1928. This stage play contains a song „Mackie Messer“, with the following lyrics : „Und der Haifisch, der hat Zähne
Und die trägt er im Gesicht
Und MacHeath, der hat ein Messer
Doch das Messer sieht man nicht…“
In my opinion, the Rammstein song is about, being strong in political beliefs, friendships etc.
Maybe it's a time for feuer frei? Also, amigrate (the guitarist band) the grate project 😉

It is possible a song about the internal conflicts in the band and with Till.
