This brings back memories from my time at RS. (1989) Being Air Force made it a bit more challenging but you just keep going...and a good sense of humor also helps. If you can keep the guys laughing, that goes along way...and always be doing something. Don't just sit around! We would have these skull sessions, going over things in the handbook, especially when the RIs were making their rounds. Thanks Austin for the memory shake!
These videos are great! Really enjoy watching them and getting an idea of what I'm getting myself into more and more in detail. I'm going to Air Assault after our jrtc rotation, then putting in my PRC packet. Trying to get all the knowledge I can before hand specifically for leadership skills, patrols, etc.. definitely keep making these videos for me and everyone like myself.
Class 4-83: We were told Go or No Go by the RI after we were switched or before the RIs swapped out. The only time that was different was in Florida to make sure guys don’t “tab out”.
Did you guys do Utah? My class almost went to Fort Bliss due to something going on at Dugway. Never found out what happened but we were re-routed to Utah at the last minute.
Hey man. I would indeed like a video to explain the 5 principles of patrolling more if you got time. Thanks man.
Agreed

5 Principles of Patrolling video please!
One of my main Darby memories is how everyone was a bit sick, with coughing and sneezing on patrol that would have been fatal in the real thing.

@@dvabio We missed the "new" desert phase by 3 classes. I'm pretty sure 7-83 was the first Desert Phase class.
That would be extremely helpful video if you went through the five principles of patrolling
Planning
Reconnaissance
Security
Control
&
Common sense
The way you wrote this, you should put it as a book.
Dude you inspire me to
Go back 😂 It’s funny because I remember heads nodding away during the Warno briefs we called it (bobbing for diks)
Great videos! But how does one know in which order to watch these videos? I guess there is some preferred/chronological order?
They are all part of a playlist…
