I didn't know the keyframe function so I was adding new layer every time I needed to move the mask position. Wish I have had searched for the keyword ""blur effect" instead of "mosaic effect" I was searching for the partial mosaic effect among different tutorials and had a hard time putting them together. I ended up made it but with a hard way with many fails.

If you are using mobile app, then you need to add 2 Blur effects layer and then when you click on layer your will see "Object" Button. Click on it and there you can select second video for second blur layer and first video for first blur layer.

Hi, I have one tutorial about tracking feature (Link: th-cam.com/video/CdtoLe0d8j4/w-d-xo.html). You can use tracking technique on image or sticker which will act as blur layer. So you do not need to add key frame. But I showed key frame approach because, tracking works fine if movement of object which you want to blur or track is slow and steady. If the movement is fast and dynamic then tracking result is not good in CapCut.
When I do it there is a rectangle that is blurred in the background but it doesnt shrink when i make the rectangle blur smalledr it just stays in the background. Help!
Please try using the invert mask button if you want the inside of the rectangle to be blurred. Please use keyframes if you want to change the size of the blur.
Though the sound quality could be better, and English is your second language, this tutorial is the best I have come across. Thank you! Sorted my knowledge gap. :)

This tutorial is for PC and can be followed for MAC also. To blur entire video, you do not need to use mask. That way whole screen will be blur. If you mean duration of blur video then you need to extend timing of blur effect for whole video.

hello again; what would you do if the part of your video that needs blurred, was only for half the duration of the video or for the second fifth and third fifth of the video, and you didn't need the blur for the other bits of the video? is there a way to blur for a short duration of the video and then remove the blur and then apply the blur again? thank you
Yes, you can do that, and you can split the video at that time. Only apply blur effect to splitted part. To make it more easy apply blur to complete video, export it, then create new project use video without blur and ad blur without as overlay, then split video at correct timestamp and delete splitted part where you dnt need blur from overlay layer.
@@Mr.Tutorials and if you need to make the mask bigger, let's say it's a license plate moving towards camera, would you make the mask bigger as the video progresses, or would you split the video and start with new masks that are progressively bigger for each split section?
@craigcolahan I think you can combine both in the same step using keyframes. You can change the position of blur to match the number plate position and also change the size of the mask as per the number plate size.
Hey hi! Are you using PC app or mobile? In mobile the button is called invert and found at bottom left corner if you want to reverse blur area. In PC app, there are 3 small buttons (if CapCut did not change layout). First button allows you to inverse blur area.
In the I phone copy layer of video one more time and add bkur effect with masking. Select effect and click object. For first effect, select first overlay video and for seocnd effect, under object select second overlay video.

@craigcolahan I am not aware of the effect like that. But you can add an image that will be a black censored bar as an overlay, and then you can use Keyframe to adjust its position. CapCut is updating tabs and their categories/names. Please check all the tabs. Blur should be available under the lens tab.

Can you make a video on how to blur the entire video on CapCut Mac and PC

Is video selected or not? Generally, video should be selected, and then only the mask option will appear.

You cannot merge layers in CapCut or most of the video editors. You need to export video and then use it again in new project.

There is no ,,basic'' tab in the effects section.
CapCut has updated category or tab names. Please go to the lens tab, and you will find a blur effect in that tab.

This doesn't work anymore, because the blur on the lens tab can't be resized.
For custom size you have to use mask. Are you sure that even with mask it is not possible?

My capcut is missing basic effects for some reason :(
CapCut has updated effects category names. Blur can be found under Lens. All effects are same as before only sorted in a new way.
