Hi, I followed your instructions and finally I installed my first Active Directory oin Windows Server 2012 R2 using a virtual machine - Parallels Desktop 10 yesterday! Fantastic. Still works, I'm doing this on Windows Server 2016. I was having issues with domain name .internal wouldn't work. Highly would recommend .local if it's for the same local private network.

Hi Samer, first of all Thanks for watching the videos, to answer your question, as it is a new setup on this machine where you would like to create a DNS and you have only one user which is default (administrator) to this machine, by default this user will be part of domain admin but it is not good practice to keep only one user (administrator) as domain admin, there has been cases when you forget or can not login as administrator so fallback strategy is always a good practice, I do not like to use domain\administrator user at target machine when I need to have that machine added or joined to the domain which is mandatory part whenever you want a machine to be added to your domain. You can create a local user on the machine where you intend to install DNS and add that in domain admin so that you can use that to join other machines to your domain. I am planning to put out more videos about Active directory so stay tuned for that - it will cover AD and DNS which is a complete set to work as system Admin - exploring domains and its object should be your next target (which will be uploaded soon) - it will cover advance level system administration.

I only have one question about DNS ; you said 8.8.8.8 Ip provider DNS is assign to you only for 1 hour and after it changed you will give the DNS that you've created here , what do you mean by that i Can't get it right .

Can you please do some research to why do we install active directory DOMAIN services. You might find your answer there. Scope of this video is to show you how to install active directory domain services. I really don't understand what Administrator has to do with Not installing domain?

Are you referring to forward and reverse Zones ? If so I completed that in this video.
