C.A. MIREMONT 1877, Artist Violin Test

Claude Augustin Miremont (1827-1887) was the son and pupil of Sebastien Miremont. He worked for C.L. Collin in Mirecourt, and Lafleur and Bernandel in Paris before moving to New York in 1852. He returned to Paris in 1861 and retired in 1884. Miremont had obtained the best distinctions at the Universal Exhibitions of 1853-55-62 and 67. His instruments are sought after, especially his cellos.
