    Imagine searching "setting up RHH135" and finding a a video from the Yamaha master posted literally an hour ago; It's like you've read my mind. Just got a DTX6 and your deep dive on the DTX PRO have been invaluable, thanks so much.

    Hi there! I have a problem. When I play my hit hat spins so I hit with parts of the pad that aren't where Yamaha logo is so the sound is so weak. I need to put back constantly to keep hitting where sound is okey (Yamaha Logo) How can I set up to stop spining? Need help!!

      Hi. Are you using a Yamaha hi hat stand? The best thing I can suggest is get some PTFE (plumbers, white) tape and wrap a little around the thread of the pull rod of the hi hat stand to lock it into the receiving nut on the bottom part of the pull rod. Undo the top rod, take out the top tube and you'll see the nut where the pull rod screws into. Wrap the PTFE tape around the thread of the pull rod, screw it in, and then put the top tube back on the hi hat. You might need to experiment to get the correct amount of tape, but that should help.

    Yo mr simon, i need to set my hi hat height around 1 inch from that black thingy... Else i will get open hi hat sound even though i press the pedal... Is this normal?
    Unless i press the pedal really hard...
    I don't know which one is wrong, the hi hat or the stand
    If i remember correctly i don't think i need to press that hard on acoustic hi hat to produce closed hi hat sound

      I am using yamaha dtx 6k3x
      I set the black thing just like you did
      I bought a used one though, so the sensor might be degraded a bit or maybe the stand's pedal
      But i don't know which one is the problem
      I don't want to buy both

    • @edruminfo
      @edruminfo  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm sure you appreciate that, even if I had that information, I couldn't just randomly go on TH-cam and say when in the future Yamaha were going to release a product. Companies dont work like that and dont give information like that away I'm afraid. Yes, it's old, but it's still more powerful on the MIDI front than other multi pads out there. Let's see what happens.

    I replaced my HiHat to one similar to this - (I have a Yamaha kit). It’s got all the same features and inputs as the RHH135 so assumed it would be okay for my kit!
    But it’s stuck on closed hi hat all the time?
    Any ideas on how to fix this? Maybe I need to calibrate this new pad to the kit in the settings somewhere?
    Tried different cables and that didn’t work either…

    • @edruminfo
      @edruminfo  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TomDrummerAndSkater Hi. I’m afraid that unless it is a Yamaha hi hat pad, it won’t work as Yamaha use a different control system to most other companies. Which kit do you have?

    Thanks for the video. I have a DTX10 on order and have been reading the online manual ahead of arrival. I noticed that you left the big felt washer in place on the cymbal support, but STEP 9 in the assembly manual under "Assembling the hi-hat stand" states be sure to remove the felt washer when assembling the electronic drum kit. If you leave it on, you will not get the proper playing feel.
    Is it best to leave this felt in place or to remove it?

    • @edruminfo
      @edruminfo  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thats because not everyone will be using it with a Yamaha hi hat stand. Some hi hat stands have a much thicker (and softer) bottom felt, which can slow the open and close response. Yamaha stands generally have a thin bottom felt and I've found it makes little difference whether it is left on or not. You might find different and prefer the feel without it, but try it and see. The bottom washer already has a neoprene bottom, so its not essential to remove the felt. As with all these things, try it and see for yourself. See what works for you.

      Not directly as they use a different mechanism, but if you use something like an edrumin5 as an interface you can use them with the DTXpro.
