that citronelle is some amazing stuff. I wish it came in bigger pieces. Hands down my favorite rock to work. It gets such good color and becomes so slick with heat.
Great job; it would be beautiful to see mama point and her little babies. Beautiful material, at the start of this video I had no inkling of the success and results that would come from this river cobble. ❤
Your work while splitting flint is a world championship. I haven't seen this type of work before. If you believe Scientists, this is how "primitive" people built our civilization. However, the various structures rather confirm an advanced civilization. It's hard to say precisely. Congratulations and warm regards 💖👋😀.
I am interested in replicating small handaxes from chert river cobbles but I can not use modern hammers. Any suggested videos showing the reduction of chert cobbles using only stone and antler hammers?
Thanks for posting, I have learned a lot from your videos. Will you do a video of your keepers, I would love to see your favorite points from the past.
Hello, I stumbled across your video and find it quite interesting. I am curious as to why you rub the edges down with that flat stone. What is the purpose of that?
That was some pretty Rock inside wasn't it? That was one heck of a flake you took off with that first bump. Yeah that's why the heck of a Bopper. Good show.
Though most of my ms chert is small I love working it and seeing what the next one looks like inside. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
@@bracoop2 Flint/Chert is good, Obsidian no good, to fragile. I'm sure I could shoot out of your scrap pile the rest of my life haha. 3/4x7/8 is what my rifles use. You could probably do a good business with just your scrap pile.
I have a video on bopper construction. Basically it's just a copper cap taped to a plastic pipe with electrical tape also between the cap and the pipe. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
For just a moment there, I almost thought you were human, when I saw a few edges get crushed. Then you spent the rest of the video showing what sets you apart from the rest of us boys and wannabes!
It would be much more benefiting if u would just not explain what ur trying to do and instead just do it in silence thats a much better way to learn from
love your stuff, one of the guys i watched early on to learn to knap

Great percussion thickness reduction. I look forward to some pressure and maybe indirect percussion.

Awesome work. looks like a yam. Lol

We abrade the sharp edges to prevent crushing which spoils the chip formation. Thanks for watching!

So cool! What kind of tape are you using on your fingers?
Nexcare water proof tape. Very grippy grabby but not perfect protection. Does a good job for me.
Nice video. Just starting again after a twenty year hiatus
Good luck
Is what kind of rock is that
Great video. Your fingers look like you night have a BP issue.
Scraps would work well in my flintlock.
Does it have to be flint or can it be other stones? I have a massive amount of scrap pieces of flint chert obsidian

I dig that bopper. Looks like it works nice. How.did you make it?

@@EDBO23 I will be looking for that bopper creation video.
Excellent video Edbo.....where is Scooby ?
This is an older video. I put him in all my new ones.
That's pretty not too bad.

Hi Edbo - What type of fishtail are you referring to?
Bayogoula fish tail is a small true arrow head found in southern Mississippi and Louisiana. Look in the Overstreet arrow head book. Or online search
@@EDBO23 Thanks! I’ll pull out my Overstreet’s.
Or rather what's the name of the type of rock
Citronelle chert from south Mississippi
Planning the Brown Bear knapin fourth week October
Ok great!
