Man, my library generally gets added 1-2 games/month cuz of you Splat... last purchase was Dustland Delivery which was dope as hell and PRETTY deep mechanics once you get to play around!
Been so excited for this one to come out since you first covered it. SPLAT stop spending my money. You find such great gems and provide some great coverage, keep up the amazing work and look forward to more streams and videos.
There is a basic priority system for managing drones etc. Using the market to complete contracts to get research points works too if you are only missing a few items.
Even though I'm neither into Factorio type games, looks like I would get addicted to this one as well, with those Sci-fi complements, questing & exploring. You were super possesed on that second half of the video after the 18 hour journey 😂
Been looking closely at this, wasnt sure what to think about it. Been burned a lot by games lately. So thx for the look at. To be honest, looking at the screen captures and such just makes me just wanna play Surviving Mars instead.
It does scratch the same itch as Surviving Mars. And the mining production chains are clearly inspired by Satisfactory. It's got a bit of Deliver Us The Moon as well, since you need to solve the mystery of the accident. What splatt isn't capturing because he's playing Sandbox, is the storyline and atmosphere. You eventually get a big mining machine that goes out into the world to get resources, which you bring home to process then export to Earth. The initial deposits on your map eventually run out, they are basically just to bootstrap you into the production chains and sustainability.
That's good to hear. It looks great in this video, but that's not a small price it's listed for and with no current demo available it's a big ask to even consider buying it without more info.
Batteries not being safe underground was driving me nuts. Same with clumped Solar. One good spacerock as night starts and goodbye power systems. Looks interesting though!
i played surviving mars and played demo on last steam fest , 12+ hours of this , and similarities are mostly surface level at most , while likely devs played or seen surviving mars it more reminds me anno 2205 crossed with captain of industry/satisfactory/factorio i currently not have steam money to buy this;o pain
Hope the AI is better than surviving Mars... That was such a bug fest on release. Drones that would go into infinite loops of moving same resource between two locations, people moving to jobs that they hate/bad at and getting depressed because there was no way to manually move colonists and game just signed whomever... it took a year of patches for it to become playable. Funnily enough, the game logic broke down only after certain complexity - it worked well enough to get you through steam refund period.
@@lucidnonsense942 for the most part AI has been good. There are times you'll be looking at the drones asking "why are you doing that? Put it down and go do thing I NEED you to do now". There are certain tasks that take priority even when you raise priority in something time sensitive like getting them to load a cargo ship or build a solar panel before the sun goes 🤦♂️ Considering some of the rando stuff self driving cars get up to irl kinda adds to the realism 😂
I hope it isn't a mistake to watch this. I want this game. This and Satisfactory is going to lose me my job. Luckily, Satisfactory doesn't come out until around when my contract is over.
a Kickstarter game (that game me the energybasegame feeling at the start) that goes into early access to ask for more funds buying it before is complete? damn.
I loved that game back when it first came out so much. I bought the disk. I still have the game. I all ways wished someone would take it and update it. Here we are right….. I love how they added ppl into it with the research tree etc. don’t get me wrong it’s still glitchy. I hope they do finish it more! If not do a remake like total war etc, something. I still see room for growth like outpost! If you could do an open world and hop planets and moons. For at the least one solar system. Maybe add military etc to the tech tree and fight others for your spot etc.
Splat, if you haven't, give Factorio an honest go in private. It's quite addictive. The next thing on your docket can keep you playing an unhealthy amount of time. *Sees conveyor belts behind closed eyes.* 🤪
the thing about power is that you would much rather have too much of it than too little. unlike some countries on our irl planet ... that i currently live in -_-
Much better than the other channel I was watching that was havin a rally a couple nights ago. But only through inner strength can one learn to embrace the darkness.
I hope it'll be better than Surviving Mars (which it resembles a fair bit), that, six years and many patches and expansions since release, remains a wretched hollow shell of a game.
What embargo do you mean? Funny you show the game just now - Subsurface cave systems were just detected on the moon IRL. Right mood for it and instahype for science geeks. 😁
I'm with you on the radials dislike. Nested radial menus are one of those design trends that needs to go for PC games, right behind the overuse of press & hold key interactions. Both are very unfriendly for the end user.
it's just captain of industry "the industry" doesn't make any sense, which industry? where? I guess some languages are weird and everything is a "the" in those, and you carry that over to english reflexively?
Splat on a role for the last couple of weeks. This one looks interesting, but not crystal clear. Would need to be more than just making a lunar mining colony.
I really want to honor you again, on your planning and intelligence. I truly believe you're one of the greatest content creators in this genre. Exceptional.
There is a day/night cycle on the moon; it's 28 (Earth) days long. This is what causes the phases of the moon. The "light" and "dark" sides of the moon have nothing to do with this (or actual illumination, for that matter) they are the side that is visible from the Earth and the side that faces away from us, respectively.
Tidal lock doesn't mean it doesn't rotate, it means it rotates in about the same amount of time it takes to do a full orbit. This means that the moon rotates around its axis in about 28 days and also orbits earth in 28 days. Thus, from our perspective, we always see the same side of the moon, ish.
Suprise! It's cheap and decent so people are gonna use it, same with voice acting eventually. When it gets to the point you cannot distinguish it you won't care anymore...
Nope still working my way down the chain, it's definitely a slow burner and the tech tree might need reorganizing there's a lot of useless stuff that takes a while to churn out to get to the nodes that make moves.
@@Splattercatgaming Well good news then, its hard to find some decent games with depth these days,it did look ok,familiar to some other mars games weve played,i cant give you a hard time about the learning curve, recently went back to transport fever 2 with a ton of mods and its like learning it all over again,no dwarf mods yet tho

Glad to hear this one's playing so well. It looked neat
I saw this earlier on steam. It gives me big Outpost/Outpost 2 vibes. I hope it finds some good footing.

Surviving Mars was pretty simplistic. This looks like it has more stuff. Not necessarily interesting stuff, but quantity at least.

Well if it rotates it's at least not Earths moon. Earths moon Luna is tidally locked.
