You are so strong and brave to be sharing your story and I thank you for that. I have been struggling for a while now, but hopefully I’ll be ok. Do you have any tips??
do as much research as you can and show your parents. visit the unsilenced website it has a lot of resources and information about residential and troubled teen facilities
I don’t understand why they treat youth struggling with depression like inmates. Seems counterproductive to the healing process. I just visited Newport about the PHP. I have a lot to think about now. Thank you for sharing.

hey, I was there a few months ago and I had a somewhat similar experience and I want to validate how hard this must be to post. I don't usually talk about my rtc or inpatient experiences bc of the trauma. I was wondering if you knew about the app? They have an app that's similar to Instagram where you can post how you feel about your experiences and the therapists and cc's and other clients see it. I find it helpful, but that's j a suggestion. also, I was at two different houses but in CA, and some of the things that you mentioned have changed at least in that location. so I'm glad it was made aware that those things aren't right. have you gone to any other places that did help?

was there for 8 days and some kid tried to fight me for saying that a city was dangerous, if i ever got sad and wanted alone time i would have to be watched 24/7. one appointment a week with a psychiatrist when we were told that it would be daily psychiatry. yea the place is nice and bougie house looks nice sure, but overall the care and attention towards the kids there was absolutely horrible. 0/10.
you will be okay! theres still time to persuade your parents to not go, but if you must go, just know that you will get through it and not every single person had the same experience as me
Hey so I have a question I'm currently in Newport php and they want to send me to residential I have really bad separation anxiety and depression do you have any tips in general. I have to go into the adult program which is kind of intimidating ( I can really relate to the ccs not knowing what the fuck they're doing) Also you're really strong for sharing this and you're always supported and we get your back
i highly suggest looking at other facilities before committing to newport. it really traumatized me. however being in an adult program is most likely different because i was sixteen when i went. so if you're able to sign yourself out, then you should be okay. and thank you so much, i really really appreciate it.
When I was there we had a crossfit group, but only during that particular time. I was in the teen group and we didn't get to choose when to exercise or if we even wanted to.

I'm not really qualified to recommend anyone and it's different from state to state. Maybe try an online service like Talkspace or Betterhelp!
