  • At only £66 in the AliEXPRESS sale I wasn't expecting the quality, wrist presence and massive spec offered by this Steeldive SD1970.
It is a blatant homage to the 1968 Seiko 6105 (Captain Willard) dive watch worn by Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now, yet also stands on its own as a great 'turtle' style dive watch for anyone interested in trying the design. You may be very surprised

The music blasts over your narration. Otherwise a good review.

Got those about year ago, excellent quality. Down the line got newer seiko which didn't had saphire glass or screw down crown, and it costs like 3 times more, not gonna lie, seiko left me dissapointed.

I have this in the black dial version. It is fantastic value and incredibly well made. It has become one of my favourite watches

I have this, and at first I thought it was great. But over time I wear it less and less. Just too much blue

For months, I debated getting an “homage” watch. After watching hundreds of videos, a great deal came on Amazon for $87.00, and I bought it-a Steeldive 1953 with the snowflake dials and no Cyclops. I was so impressed with the quality and feel that I decided to get the Willard in green (I still have green blood running through my veins, and I'm an eight-year military veteran here 😂). It is a beautiful watch; my only complaint is that the watch came with a loose end link; for the first time in years, I cursed the male end link; it took me about two hours to sit it in place. Besides that issue, I am thrilled with the Willard; I paid $107.00 on sale at the same place. Well, after five days I saw the Steeldive SD1957 And fell in love with it, it was not on sale so I decided to purchase it. Outstanding watch. I am very pleased with my three Steeldive watches. My problem now is that I have my eyes on a few more steeldive watches. Nice video, just subscribed. Stay safe.

Thanks for that. I'll check the 1953 out. Hadn't come across it

Except for the current San Martin models (even with a Selitta movement), which are now becoming more and more expensive and are slowly approaching the cheapest Steinhart watches, all of these AliExpress watches are junk. Although for 60-100€ it doesn't matter. And the Chinese know that too...

Snobs gone snob, you get more watch then what you pay for with this. It certainly is cheaper then the write off on many Rolexes nowadays. Movements can be serviced, but it is less expensive to swap out the whole movement. It also is probably less expensive then having a licensed watchmaker opening up the caseback of your Rolex, let alone service it.

Can anybody tell what it's weight is. I am confused because numbers go from 140 to 190g for a watch with full length bracelet. It would really help.

Mmm that's one area I never look at , the weight. If it's top heavy I tend to get sold. This fits like a glove and wears balanced if that helps
