You're correct! I do hate most of my art pages. But you inspire me, I keep trying.

Many thanks for the constant inspiration Amanda. I slowly fell in love with making art as I was coming out of a tough mental spot, and was loving self-teaching, keeping a sketchbook and experimenting with painting landscapes. When I found your work last year it finally convinced me to add an art journaling habit alongside. I had an old agenda notebook that I had started in 2020 when I had a lot of high hopes for the year, and had abandoned when I started going downhill mentally. I've been filling it with just a whole bunch of feelings and mark making and it's been so much fun and so nice to get a use out of what was otherwise just a bunch of wasted paper sitting gathering dust and reminding me of some of my crappier days. I only have a few pages left and can't wait to start the next!
Thank you for helping me realise I needed to give myself permission to just MAKE. Messes, art, both, whatever it may be. Whenever I see your content, your intuitive creative flow always sings and it gets me itching to make something. It has helped me move past a lot of hangups I had about whether I 'deserved' to express myself artistically if I didn't have some kind of immediately clear, objective 'talent' for rendering things from youth (which I now recognise is a big bunch of bs). I love seeing all the stuff you try and the results you get, I love the colours/palettes you choose, and the materials and mediums you incorporate. And thank you for your vulnerability, it is warming and encouraging and doesn't go unnoticed! I think there are many of us who could do with learning to not be ashamed of our own humanness. Sending so much love!
