    Don't forget to watch my other videos regarding the Epson ET-8550. th-cam.com/play/PLo219FKz6e4ruHw9B09PcWSGFp4EReB48.html I like this printer a lot. It's not perfect in every aspect, but I'd give it 9.8 points out of 10. I can so far only say that if I had to buy a new printer today, I'd buy this one without blinking an eye or hesitate a split second.

    Thank you very much. Your three videos are very detailed and I feel like can use the printer without reading any further user manual.I appreciate your effort.

      Thanks a lot for your kind words. I have a fourth video in the pipeline, which is about printing black and white images. I will show my work flow of how I do it, and why I think some people get colour tint when printing B&W using this printer. There is no magic to it, but the Epson ET-8550 has been unfairly accused of magenta cast, which is actually caused by user error. I have printed many black and white images and none of them have any colour cast, they are all very nice and neutral. The secret is using the right paper, the right setting and the right work flow.

    Would you say the the colours of the print are comparable/the same as what you see on your monitor?
    I am considering this printer, because my Epson L1300 can't get them colours correctly, but detail wise it's good.
    Thanks.

      My monitor is calibrated, and so is the printer, so the printed colours are pretty similar to what I can see on my main screen. I have two screens connected to my computer, and even though the second screen is also calibrated, the colours are not the same. However, in my opinion you should not compare a printed image side by side with any computer screen. Computer screens are back lit, so the image you are seeing is not equal to the printed image, which uses reflected light. It is best to check printed images at the light they are going to be displayed under. If the colours are great then the print is great and the printer is fine also. The other thing is that the colour accuracy and quality is dependent on the paper also. Don't expect good results if you buy cheap, unbranded paper and can't even produce an ICC profile for those papers. It is important to use quality papers and get the papers profiled if you can't profile it on your own. If you buy this printer (or any other printer) start with the manufacturers own paper of a higher quality. I am using Epson Premium Glossy and Ilford Galerie Pearl papers. Other papers I tried are not good enough in my opinion.

    Hello, really grateful for these videos on this printer. But I'm experiencing serious roller lines/indentations on the prints. Mine a3 glossy photo paper 180gsm is not from Epson but sourced from local manufacturers, I've also tried different glossy papers with different gsm, same issue. Does epson paper that you are using have these roller indentations? Can you please try some other branded glossy paper. Thanks a lot.
    There are like 10 roller lines vertical on the entire paper. I bought the printer 1 week ago. Really worried about this situation. Bought it for selling prints.😢

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I am using Ilford Galerie and Epson papers. I have tested some other, also some non-branded (I guess that's what you call "local") paper also and not really experienced your problems. I never used such thin photo paper as you are trying. The lightest I used was 290gsm. I am sorry, but perhaps you should contact Epson. Maybe the printer needs a service. I also think that if you are selling prints then you should not be using cheap third party papers but use heavy and high quality brands. The prints will look better and will last longer as well. It's not a nice thing to get paid for low quality work.

    HELLO, GOOD DAY, QUESTION: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PRINT A 6X8 INCH PHOTOGRAPH???
    WOULD YOU HELP ME A LOT IN MAKING THE DECISION TO BUY THAT PRINTER? THANK YOU...

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am sorry, but I don't know and I don't print in that size. Rarely print 4 x 6", mostly print 8 x 11" and 13 x 19". Also, if you only want to print 6 x 8" then the best would be to buy the ET-8500. In my opinion, the only argument for the ET-8550 is the ability to print large, but if I would not want that, I would buy the smaller and cheaper ET-8500, which is the same printer, only smaller.

    Interested with this Epson Et -8550 or L-8180.. Havent seen any white L-8180.. all are black.. But Epson Et-8550 has all white in Amazon U.S. Does this supports 220v, because in Amazon,their Epson ET-8550 said it supports only 120v. While In Dell site, they have the same Epson ET-8550, white and said it supports 120v-230v..So im a bit confuse now... I was trying to find Et-8550 which supports 220v 50-60hz...where i could possibly buy.... Our country is in 220v 50-60 power supply..

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know where you live and which Amazon you checked. I live in Sweden and in Europe we have 230VAC 50 Hz and my ET-8550 is made for that. The printer is sold globally, so it is made for many electrical systems. You must check with the seller otherwise you might end up with one which is not made for your electric network.

    Im using this printer.. but i don't know to set 12x18 size properly.. I set 12x18 size in Photoshop and A3+ settings in printer but i cant receive proper output.. pls explain how to get proper A3+.. and also need to know how to get proper borders for 4sides..

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  ปีที่แล้ว

      A3+ is 13" x 19", not 12x18. I am not printing from Photoshop or any other photo editor, I am using Epson Print Layout. Printing from Epson Print Layout is supersimple and self explanatory. Just set the paper type, the paper size and the margins and also select the right ICC profile and that's it. I don't set the paper size in the printer at all.

      I don't know why you want to extend it manually, but if I had to do it I'd just pull it out. I don't think it would damage the printer, but I can't warranty that.

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it will last at least 30 years if you print on quality paper but there is no real world data since the printer is new. I had it for about 9 months now which is too short, but I am pretty sure it will last longer than I'll live.

    Did you print on glossy art paper?

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't printed on any "art" paper. I am using Ilford Galerie Pearl and Epson Premium Glossy since I am happy with what I see when I print on these, but I have printed on other, nameless special type also, like canvas and magnetic types, and those gave me good results also. For B&W canvas, matte or pearl type of papers are the best, but even printing on glossy without colour cast according to my work flow.

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe you have the wrong paper in it or something else. The Paper cassette 1 (I guess that's what you call "top tray") takes office paper, you should not use it for photo paper. I suggest you check out the user manual, especially the section about which paper in which tray and how to load the printer with paper.

    how many A3 paper we can prints in one day ?

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea. Many. It depends on the length of your day also. To calculate, take the number of hours of your day, multiply by 60 and divide the results with the number of minutes it takes to print one A3 paper.

    Why all sizes are white, why the picture not on full page?

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I guess you mean why didn't I print borderless? The answer is simple. Because I fram my images and I like white borders. It drives the attention into the picture and keeps it there. It sort of "fooling" our brains. But it's a matter of taste. If you have this printer you can print borderless if that's what you want.

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For that price...? Of course it is not an A3 scanner. But a work around is to scan in two parts and stich the two into one A3.

    Hello, I want to buy this product, but I need a few ideas from you. Can I print on canvas fabric type from this printer? I've seen them in a few videos when I come across them. But I need to confirm so that I can buy the product. Since I am looking for a low-cost product, I am very warm to this product. I will constantly print on canvas fabric type. Do you think I should get it?

    • @AdaptingCamera
      @AdaptingCamera  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the printer can print on canvas, however, by canvas I mean canvas made for inkjet printers, not just any fabric looking like canvas.

      @AdaptingCamera  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gorkemcinarer The structure your image shows should not cause any problems, however, you need to read the specifications. I can not give you any warranty or do specific tests. Download the manual and check it out. I have no idea what sort of restrictions there are regarding canvas printing. It might also be necessary to use ICC profile for the canvas to get accurate colours, unless you want to experiment. This of course depends on your expectations.
