4:00 - The funny thing about the first part of the chorus is that if you change _"I know you're pissed off, narrow minds cannot believe in what they ear"_ to _"I know your pissed off narrow minds cannot believe in what they ear"_ the message remains the same. I personally prefer the 2nd option. 🙂 7:20 - Many people like to repeat that Gwen Stefani is Tatiana's main clean vocals' influence but like you quoted, I've heard her talking more about Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse or even Sandra Nasic (from Guano Apes) as singers she looks up to more than Gwen. I think she liked No Doubt as a band in general, due to their Reggae-influenced musical style, and not their singer in particular.
I wouldn't immediately think of Gwen when I assess Tati, but there are a few mild similarities. As you say, I think it's more a band that she likes as opposed to something that has had a direct influence on her vocal style.
Tatiana is a reggae fan, always up for more of it , if she can get the guys to write that style of music. One of the songs played on the recently released 'Live in LA' Blu-ray/DVD/CD, she didn't sing the 'Boo-yah" there, the entire crowd did. lol. Yeah , it's from the Macro album, my favorite on that record is "Homeback"
I've been all over the Live in LA album for a few weeks now. I really hope they do a headline tour of the UK soon. Probably won't be until 2025 but I'd love to see them live.
News flash people pop/country artists listen to metal in their off time and metal/rock artists listen to pop/country/EDM/rap in their off time lol I think that is why metal is healthier than it's ever been, they apply elements from what they listen to that isn't metal to the metal. Just further proof everything can be metal. That groove is so good. Love this damn band!
Hell yeah, mate. Completely agree. Jinjer are probably one of my favourite discoveries since I started this channel. Such a quality band all round. I'm really trying to find a Pisces guitar playthrough and react to that. But I can only find a guitar/bass playthrough and you can't see Roman playing 😭 But I wanna shine some light on Roman, Vlad and Eugene, and there are numerous playthroughs out there which I'm yet to see.
@@melvinthinks I follow Eugene on Instagram and he plays his rehearsal playing all the time. I haven't seen any of their play throughs. I've seen Vlad drum cams live but other than that I have not found any. For all the reasons you outlined in the video, they don't do a whole lot of media anymore. Unlike Lorna Shore where they all individually post playthroughs.
@@melvinthinksstop whatever it is you are doing. Jinjer just released a new song!! Somebody's Daughter and it is incredible! I expect this on my desk by Monday!! Not really but just in case you missed it! 😜
Incidentally your’s was one of the first reactions to TW I saw, I think it also was your first reaction to them. You said that you had looked at the venue in Toronto and they still had tickets available. I was so impressed I decided I would go even though it was only a couple of weeks away, unfortunately by the time I’d worked out flights and whether I needed a visa, those tickets had sold out!!!
LOL well you sort of did anyway.... That's okay her cat is one of her good friends. 😄 A lot of haters are metal gatekeepers which are the worst part of the metal community. That or they see something that they see as a threat to their favorite band and they strike out at them/her. As far as what she listens to It's not just her taste in music of course. Just as a practical matter if you write music for a living in a genre it's usually not a good idea to listen to current music in the genre you write for. You could easily copy someone without realizing it or at least sounding too similar and causing fans to bitch about it. Tatiana did a video for Revolver Magazine called Man or Beast where she says she's "not into death metal" and a few commenters thought that was odd. I don't know why because save for using a few elements from that genre Jinjer isn't death metal but even if they were they don't understand it doesn't work that way when you write songs.
I also think it's unhealthy to be so fanatical about a band that you only listen to one band or limit yourself to one genre or style of music. I love metal and guitar music, but I don't listen to it all of the time. And people will notice that on my channel. As you say, it definitely helps with the writing process and inspires you to create different things. Which is exactly what Jinjer do. I don't personally care what genre Jinjer are. At the end of the day, it's awesome music, song writing and compositions.
Nah not this year unfortunately. We seriously thought about it, and we had such an awesome time when we last did Bloodstock in 2016. But there just wasn't enough bands on the bill pulling us in to quantify the expense this year. We're doing a little one-dayer called Metalbrew tomorrow, instead! lol
Ahhh... Cheers man! Am sure we will get a chance to share a beer at a gig or festival one day 😬 I really liked the vibe of Bloodstock last time we were there. Remember that's where I discovered Andrew O Neil. Am sure it will be ace this year. Especially Opeth and Clutch.
I think you are comparing a small sample base, as there are millions of metal fans the world over. Unfortunately, some metal fans hide behind a keyboard as Tati says, and there are dickheads in every genre of music. Fans and musicians respectively.
@@melvinthinks small sample base? bro, you look close to my age. we both know how metalheads for muuch longer time than her. and actually, she's in bussiness star system. i am talking about true metalheads. if she got complaints abouut keeybord trolls, seend to to Judas Priest and how the end uuup to defend theem selves for their songs, or Metallica for Fade to Black for the samee reasons. i hate when modern bands turned to metal snowflakes. thats why Eminem made hip hop the most listenable genre on the planet.
What i love about this video is when she nails the scream, looks over at the people in the studio and smiles knowing she smashed it!
I like it when she throws a couple of jabs at the end too 👊
Felis catus of the mackerel tabby persuation in its non natural but camouflaged environment of Tati hugs.
That's what's she said.
@@melvinthinks I was thinking more of a David Attenborough voice, but oh, well😆
Your mental image is much better than mine. I have issues! 😬
Jinjer - From Nothing (Full Live Audiotree Performance)
Jinjer - Call Me A Symbol (Official Live in LA)
Their live in LA album is great too.
Tatianaaaaaaaaa rules!!!! ❤❤❤
Definitely one of my favourite, if not my favourite discovery so far since making YT videos.
@melvinthinks She's unique, the whole band is just awesome!

It's a shame cos they are really likeable in the interviews I've watched before.
