- Video step by step hot fix leak from overflow hose in your 49cc Pocketbike Engine. The same engine is in all mini bike: mini motos, mini dirt bikes, and mini quads. If petrol leak from over flow hose it will also flood the engine.

That "valve" is called the needle and seat in charge of shutting off fuel flow when the float chamber is full

Update :-) today I worked on my pocket bike using your video instructions . It fixed all problems, started right up and no more leaking . Thank you very much !

The float hasna ridge...is the ridge face up or down towardw the bowl

I know nothing about motors and you fixed the.leak problem for me now it runs without leaking but cuts out after a minute or so

if your bike won't idle can this be a problem making it not idle
Mine was leaking from the air filter, the overflow hose then from the top of the bowl
Good video but you need to look into terms of components like pin, float, jet etc. It will make sense to mos of us but there will always be someone that goes to workshop with whole carb and says ''I need this part here, dont know whats it called'' ;)

Can you suggest an upgrade performance carb replacement for these??
you won't upgrade engines performance by changing the carb in this case, I would advice to instal big bore kit

What is the need for the little black wire if theres no red?
you mean the black wire from coil? this is the wire to switch off the engine, when you ground this wire it will stop spark and it will stop the engine

+bikes4you why when i start my 49cc bike as soon as i sit down it turned off
Adjust the throttle position screw. It needs more fuel for idle. It's the screw on the side of the carb with a little spring around it. Tighten it a bit. Not too much, have it running when you do it
Probably needs a clean or change the air control
What's if my carburetor is new?

My engine is brand new what do i do
Clean it also, Chinese engines have sometimes small particles in the carb
My sons 50cc starts but when we rev it a little bit it dies straight away what could be the problem?

My carb is sparkling clean but just doesn’t start/ idle for long , The spark plug is clean aswell
Mike hunt Check the tank for any holes, a small hole or a crack might be a problem also make sure when you were putting the carb back together that the throttle cable inside the carb is put in the right way and the screw on the side of the carb is regulated (best have it screwed in almost all the way and when the bike starts slowly undo it until the bike is running smooth
And of course I’m assuming that you have fresh petrol in the tank ? It’s not a few months old where moisture could of got in or it lost its “magic”

It only goes in one way I noticed. I didn't finish the video and have damn near this exact motor and carb. The needle would be facing point down into the hole and that it. Most of them are hanging on by a metal stap

He's OK calling it a 'valve' if he so wishes. You often see the arrangement referred to as a 'needle valve', in fact it's in two parts the needle valve, and valve seat.
