I just saw this video in my feed. First 9 seconds you helped me just by having your vinyl rolls in the background. I love this idea and will be doing this immediately. Now I'm off to continue the video.
I was just seconds away from buying a hat heat press when i decided to go watch a video first and saw your video. Thanks a bunch it worth the watch, keep them good ideas coming, thanks for sharing
Hi Alex, I'm watching from South Africa, and I would like to Say thank you for this awesome video! it's very helpful and just subscribed to your channel.
Thanks for the video..I wanted to make hat but don't have the hat press and was going to ask about the mini press...thank you thank you..i always love your videos
Hi Alex, the brownish paper looking stuff on the top platen, what is that? Did it come with you machine? I have something that came with mine, and it does not tell me what it's used for! Thank you!
It's a teflon sheet! It helps protect the platen of your heat press in case anything gets on it. It's easier to clean the teflon sheet than to clean the platen of your heat press when you get something on it.
You don’t need transfer take with heat transfer vinyl. It’s the carrier sheet included on the heat transfer vinyl that I’m using to transfer onto the hat.
I would follow the same process for cups as. I did for hats. Generally I don’t recommend HTV on tumblers because it’s made for fabric. Adhesive vinyl is cheaper and will likely hold up better ☺️
Most hat presses are intended for sublimation, so while they may still work, I know many people who don’t have much success using them with HTV. Just something to keep in mind ☺️

I'm so glad that helped! I love storing my rolls this way! Thanks for watching! :)
I thought the exact same thing!! Crystle, Great minds think a like!

You're welcome! I'm so glad it saved you some money!
Appreciate this demo. Good to know we don't need a special attachment for doing hats, especially if we don't do them very often.
Exactly! I made this video because I responded to a post about where to get a cost effective hat press and I told them to save their money.
Thanks Alex, I was trying to get the 5 in 1 press too, its great to see you don't need the attachment to get the job done. I'm Subscrribing!
Yay!! I'm so glad I could save you some money! Welcome to my crafty fam!

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here!
Can the Cricut mini press be used instead? Are there any issues with putting the decal on the seal?
The Cricut Mini Press would work great! Applying to seams is fine as long as it’s stuck well to the rest of the hat.
Thanks for the video..I wanted to make hat but don't have the hat press and was going to ask about the mini press...thank you thank you..i always love your videos
Can hats that have the plastic support in the front be used for vinyl?
If you can't remove the plastic then I don't recommend pressing HTV on them.
Perfect! I was just about to spend an arm and a leg on the press with attachments
Yay! I’m glad I could save you some cash!
Kishin Kelly me to wow this is wonderful
Where did you get , heat resistant tape from? I have recon tape but. Want yours , it looks stronger
It’s from Amazon. You can find it here: amzn.to/2VpM8E4
Thank you I only have a circut heat press I think I can do this with that.
LindaAffton68 Yes! I suggest flipping the EasyPress over and using an oven mitt to hold the hat on with some pressure.
It helped me because I don't have the money to buy all the other machines or attachments
I'm so glad this method helps! :)
What did you use to keep your Teflon sheet attached to your heat presser
I use small magnets to keep it attached. I use these from 143: www.143vinyl.com/4-pack-magnets.html?partner=403469
How do you secure your Teflon to heat press
I secure mine on the sides with magnets.
What size do you use for the vinyl
I would say about 2 inches high by 3 inches wide should work great)

What the brand of the transfer tape you used? I can’t seem to find the name of that one. I always thought paper transfer tape only.
You don’t need transfer take with heat transfer vinyl. It’s the carrier sheet included on the heat transfer vinyl that I’m using to transfer onto the hat.
@@DIYAlex Thanks for the reply Alex. What kind of sheet you're using?
Thank you! This is Siser Glitter HTV ☺️
Hi Alex, is that a special tape you apply to hold the cap, and what is it call and where can you purchase it from. You make it easy. Thanks.
Hi Ralph! It’s heat resistant tape that you can buy on Amazon. You can find it linked in the description of this video ☺️
Just an idea maybe you should roll up a towel to imitate the shape of the head. Instead of holding the hat, push on the towel towards the heat press.
Thank you so much. This is just what I needed. :)
Can’t you do the front on the corner as well?
I'm not sure what you're asking
Will the vinyl stay on long? Since you don’t have the good pressure from the press?
Yes. You apply the pressure manually when you push it up on the platen Since it's not being washed often like a shirt, it's fine.
Do you need a polyester hat or can you use any kind of hat?
Any material that works with HTV is fine for this project.
Where did you get the teflon sheet?
143VINYL!
Thats awesome. How about cups? Is there anyway to do that?
I would follow the same process for cups as. I did for hats. Generally I don’t recommend HTV on tumblers because it’s made for fabric. Adhesive vinyl is cheaper and will likely hold up better ☺️
Where did you get your mint green heat press machine?
651Vinyl.com 🙂
Excellent tutorial!!!
Thank you!
Thank you for your help. This is a awesome idea.
You’re welcome! ☺️
Thanks for your help.
Cricut mini press will be perfect for this job.
Yes it would! I made this video long before the Mini press was available :) but I should redo the video with it! Great idea!
OMG, thank you sooooo much for this video.
You’re welcome!
@@DIYAlex but why does it seem like it is harder for the HTV to stick to hats? I have to be super careful when peeling.
Terrific
I would ball a towel in the hat and roll it, i think that might help with wrinkles too
Terri Tory That’s a great idea!
that is an awesome idea. I was trying to think of somthing. I was even thinking an old coffee can.
Oh yes! If you had one the right size I think that would work well. A metal mixing bowl works also.
You guys have the best ideas: silicone gloves, rolled towel, metal bowl.... I love it!
No way, unsafe but thanks this convinced me to get a hat press, I don’t have the time or patience to do all those steps
