As a fanatic of medieval battles history and war in general, I saw myself playing this game for hours non stop. Even though it has flaws, it just feels immersive at times. The style of gameplay just feels unique. Also the spy mechanics are actually quite good, there's a lot you can do !

Og KoH is one of the first videogames I've played as a kid. KoH2 is very, very similar, it's almost the same game with better graphics. Biggest improvement I found was the way you upgrade the buildings in cities.

I loved the first game even though the multiplayer was basically non-existent and the battles were repetitive. Looking forward to playing the sequel when I have the time. Thanks for the review!

0:50 taking down my expectations is going to be hard as I’ve never heard of this game (or your channel, sorry) 😅 it’s in the latest humble bundle and I’m like hay what’s this game, looks up thefirst video when I search for this game plus review and your it 👋 have some interaction in the form of this comment and a view 😊

Great video! I’m pleasantly surprised to see you review this game, I don’t think it’s getting the attention it deserves. The best way I can think to describe it is Medieval 2 Total War, but the battles are not as good, and the campaign map is way, way better. For someone like me who enjoys Total War campaign maps more than the battles, this game presents real competition with that franchise.
I think it demonstrates the value of simplicity and charm in video games. It’s definitely more simple than most Total Wars and any Paradox game, and yet I find it more fun than most of them. It has so much heart in everything it does, and this helps make up for the lack of complexity in some areas. The music also elevates it a lot. They were really smart to pay for a real orchestra to do the music.

The strength of this game is diolomacy and mechanic, thr battle is just nothing much impressive

i totally agree with you, its the best diplomacy game ive played, i have a game where i was a vasal of a stronger kingdom and made a pact with another rival to help them out if they declare war on my lord. And i sent spy on my lord to incite rebellion on his kingdom and took that opportunity to declare war against my lord along with those i made a pact with and devour all his land. it was magnificent

@richarddean4436 yup, this kind of practice is relatable since its being applied in history

If they fleshed out the characters more and made them more "human" with traits, added "dates" to make it more immersive, and made building tall better so smaller realms can compete (rather than take advantage of A.I. weakness) it would be really a great game. The Crusading mechanic needs some serious work as well.

I think that's it's the games point though. Do a bunch of things but simplify it greatly.

Nah dont flesh out characters. The game is good with it's simplicity.

    • @damianabregba7476

Dates also adds hidden pressure and makes it less immersive due to lack of technological progress. Fleshed out characters is also kind of not the point. It makes it more fun to fill gaps on your own on however depth you want. Makes it more engaging for me

What? You don't know how to build a building, to upgrade built building while it is building?! 😁

You several times mention how only mashalls can lead armys. This is not true. Every character you give the call to arms trait can lead armys, so even merchants, clerics etc. Pagan clerics can lead armys even without those upgrades.

Game key is 15 euro here in Europe. Don't buy in the shop but buy a game key online.

Don't support Gamekeys sellers. They use stolen credit cards. If you wanna play the game wait for the discount.

With "it is easy" he probably means for a battle win you just have to kill the general who rushes right at you IN FRONT OF HIS ARMY🤪🙄

@@Nyxson He was rude but also he is right tho. You're talking waaay too fast and while your English is good on itself, your strong accent is making it really hard to follow.
