  • Our time in Paternoster has come to an end, and we’re on the move again. This time, our destination is Franschoek, in the heart of the Cape Winelands. We check into the magnificent Lavendar Farm Guest House, and quickly set about exploring everything that Franschoek has to offer - including mountain biking around the Berg River Dam, wine tasting at some of the local vineyards, and visiting the working farm of Babylonstoren just outside of town.
Join us as we make our way down to the Western Cape in this latest series and spend just over a week exploring one of the most beautiful provinces in South Africa.

I still found the music level considerably higher than voice. Nice music, and good narration. I am familiar with the area, thanks to a friend from Canada who likes to visit a winery for lunch daily from a base in Stellenbosch. After about 3 weeks, we had seen the best, back in 2018. Earlier, in 2008, we visited Boekenhoutskloof, whose wine of the same name is probably my favourite. My friend asked the owner if he could buy a case of the same. A chuckle, then he said “but that would mean an entire country would not get their allotment”. Fortunately, he supplied the name of an agent in Johannesburg and the case did arrive. Canada is wonderful but ZA has its magical places. I’m very lucky to enjoy both.

Great memory that - thanks for sharing. I am familiar with the Boekenhoutskloof Cab Sav - one of my favourites too! And yes, you are lucky to enjoy both ZA and Canada. Karen and I visited Canada in 2017 for a MTB race I was competing in - we spent 2 weeks traversing the BC region and fell in love with the outdoors there.
Sorry to hear that the sound is still not consistent on your end. May I ask how you are watching the video? Is it in a big screen with sound pushed through an amplifier, or just on your PC/Mac screen?

@@graemecumming iPad 10.5 , but Bluetooth to hearing aids. Not an audio engineer, have the feeling narration might require application of a compressor to appear as prominent as music even if levels show as same.

Hi Riley - yes, absolutely. Didn't take it on this trip, but she's safe and sound at home waiting for another adventure ;-)
