Hi Vida. Remember the joke I made, in your colour mixing tutorial a while ago, about that shading is easy for me since I only use two values - black and white. :) You remarked that one can us hatching when drawing with ink to crate the impression of values. I been thinking of how I "shade" with ink and made a video to demonstrate the techniques I use to create the illusion of values: th-cam.com/video/FwJxnf7wEZM/w-d-xo.html
Oh how wonderful!!! Nice tree and I see what you mean about your way of shading in ink. Thank you so much for this video! Also, I am in Athens now so I’ll be back next week.
@@vidaevensonart I wish you a good time in Athens. :) Anyhoo. The point is, one can create an _illusion_ of values by regulating the density of marks. As one drawing teacher on YT (i.e. "Draw a Box") puts it: hatching is just another way to say "I dunno what gets here". Basically painting in ink is about studding shapes and shades and then decide what and what not to include. Because of this, I believe if you draw in ink you will improve your general drawing skills, i.e. your sense of what is relevant.
