The Best part of the game. Person dives in first time and is completely lost in everything new and discovering things in very unique order. Just never gets old.
this game is literally tied for favourite game along with hollow knight for me and just like hollow knight i cried when i finished it. I'm sure you will absolutely love it!
Your gasps of amazement when you first hit the water is what I love most! How gentle your voice gets around the fish and your awe of the reefbacks AHH! I love it! With that being said: it got dark really quick and then light again because of an eclipse by what I assume would be 4546A or a moon…
I got slightly annoyed that she made all that titanium just to make it into an ingot for no reason but I still loved that she is exploring the game with no prior knowledge of it, makes for great gameplay and pure reactions.
Tips: Make an air tank and fins so you can stay underwater longer and swim faster. Also look for scannable wreckage to unlock new recipes like the seaglide and beacon (which you found early on before you had a scanner).
Fun fact that doesn't matter much for this game in particular, but it's made by the same development team that also made Natural Selection, a series of a first-person/strategy games facing humans off against an alien species of rapidly-mutating nasties. Subnautica is set in the same universe, meaning that while you're swimming around this alien ocean, planets are being consumed by a rapidly-spreading hostile lifeform! Maybe you're better off on this planet.
Okay, I really appreciate how you're taking your time and reading everything and not looking things up. First off, do NOT look up where things are, you are supposed to get lost occasionally, it's okay. Second, there are several other things you can make that will give you things to do until the game provides you with other potential tasks. Don't sweat it, just make the other tools and do more exploring and investigating!
My favorite game ever made. I've seen every lets play, I enjoy every second of this game, and enjoy it all over again when i see someone reacting to it. I cant express how happy I am to find this new playthrough. Thank you, thank you so much.
Out of dozens of playthroughs, this is the first time I've eve seen anyone go through this info, let alone start with it. No idea who this is, but subscribing, because I am impressed and invested
Non spoilery tip: You don't have an O2 tank already, you're just holding your breath... you'll be able to explore for a lot longer (and deeper waters) before needing to go to the surface if you build one, same with building fins. As for what to do next... explore and have fun! Any wreckage you see or other life pods you might come across usually has technology fragments you can scan (little scanner icon pops up in bottom right corner of screen whenever you can scan something new - and you can scan almost everything you see in the game lol) to unlock new blueprints to craft. You can also start building yourself a habitat to have room for storage lockers, and all the stuff you'll unlock soon to be able to build in and around your habitat to make exploring easier! I had a blast playing this game, looking forward to seeing you experience it too!
Lol what, "observant" ? -Makes a scanner, goes over 30 minutes without noticing the scanner icon in the bottom right -Sees O2 tank as an option in Fabricator, doesnt make one cause she thought she had one.. somehow ? -Loots Coral Samples, which says " incredient in Bleach fabrication " puts it in box and says "no idea what that is for" while staring at the text which tells what its for -Runs into multiple Beacon fragments, few minutes later finds a cave and goes " Can i mark this somehow " Yeah "observant" suuure xD
I’ll be honest, I didn’t think I’d watch through every moment of this playthrough, I thought I’d maybe just tune in for key moments, but I’m really loving it all so far!
So excited for you to play this game! I found it when it came out and played it completely blind like you and it was an amazing experience! Looking forward to seeing you explore the world and uncover its secrets!
I found your chanel because of hollow knight and i watched the whole series and it was great and now you are playing another one of my favorites cant wait to see the whole thing
So glad you've found this game. Non-spoiler tips: Explore, Scan, Check your PDA/Fabricator frequently to see what new tools and equipment you can produce to help you on your journey. The rest you'll work out just fine.
The Unstuck-option is just an option that teleports you out of a situation you are in. It was originally in the Early Access version of the game due to the high chance of bugs, but left in because it is very useful if you encounter an otherwise game-breaking bug. Also: You just exploring and building things IS fun to watch. That's exactly what the game is about.
The fins and oxygen tank :( It's ok, everyone plays differently! :D When you first approached the big tentacle creatures, and the music hit and just your sense of awe at everything, it kind of made me emotional. It was so fascinating the first time I played this game, so it's wonderful to live it again vicariously through others! Can't wait to see more :)
Ah sweet, I love Subnautica. Have missed some of your last videos because it's games I still have to play but I have played this already so glad to be back able to watch some videos, hope you enjoy it and play the second one as well
Love watching ppl play subnautica for the first time... Reminds me of the awe and wonder and fear I had.... I kinda get judgy about people playing Subnautica by whether or not they read the Datapad and the info they give.... Hate people who "I'm playing it blind!!!" and don't bother reading any of the info they are given or even read the pda's they collect or things they scan....and then complain they can't find what they need, or know anything... You're doing great. 👏👏👏👏😊😊😊😊
I have probably watched four or five youtubers play this game over the years, just to chase the joy of watching someone else discover the "oh my god" moments in this game. its amazing.
WOOHOO! More Amber lets plays! I do hope you'll enjoy this one. Seeing some of the recent updates and how smoothly it's running for you has inspired me to download it again.
this is your first video I see. This is my favorite game, and THIS is how it ment to be played for the first time. not knowing anything, but having the curiosity to and the patience to pay attention to everything new. awesome!
It's always fun to watch someone play Subnautica for the first time. Check your equipment thoroughly if it does not have a colored icon then you don't have any equipped. Watching part 2 now.
right off the bat i would recommend using mouse and keyboard rather than gamepad. gamepad was good for outer wilds mainly because of the 3-axis thrusters you have in that game. but this is a more standard 1st person experience, so mouse will definitely be easier imo
At 13:25 - wrong association. Picking up an Acid Mushroom isn't a bad thing, bad thing is not paying attention to your stats, you've spent too much time underwater for the basic air tank, that you have, you've been almost out of oxygen, which was that sound alert for, not for picking up stuff with "acid" in its name. The Acid Mushroom is needed for crafting batteries and you need those to power things up in the future. I find it hilarious, when people freak out for totally wrong reasons. I mean it's understandable for new players, of course, but it can also be avoided, like by trying things first. Jumping into the water trying out how long it takes, or if it ever takes to empty my basic air tank, then paying attention to it while discovering the sea life. A simple rule, that might save one's life. Anyway I'm enjoying your video and looking forward to the next ones. Also earned a subscriber, just to let you know.
Love the episode, a lot of fun to watch. Only advice is looking a little more at the crafting stuff a little more. Like the oxygen tank, you can have a spare one but right now you don't have one at all. Big boost to you diving ability, and the fins make you much faster.
Non spoilery tips: - scan everything, it's important; game always warn you when you have something unscanned in bottom right of a screen but you have to select scanner first - grind supplies; yes, it is smart to have some supplies like water and food stucked in your inventory because that way you can explore more. - check your basic equipment, see if you can craft something, you are basically naked. - save often - explore, explore, explore...
Really excited for this playthrough, I can't wait to see you explore planet 4546B further. You're doing good so far. Some tips: - scan everything, if the scanner icon appears on the bottom right, it means you've never scanned that object/creature before - you're not wearing any equipement beside your suit and mask so craft the oxygen tank and fins to make exploration easier - save often, you never know what could happen on this alien planet!
It's very entertaining to see someone play this with basically zero context. And a testament to the games design that you are able to learn so quickly.
I don’t think there’s anything more satisfying than watching someone discover this game for the first time. I’m new to this channel, but I’m looking forward to watching the other videos in this series.
I've watched dozens of TH-camrs do hundreds of hours of Subnautica and I really appreciated that you really delved into the PDA info... not a lot of people did so in this first hour of your video I learned a lot ! OK... it was all stuff I've learned already through the hundreds of hours I've watched before, but I never saw the PDA items gone into depth before so learned what was in that, which for a watcher new to Subnautica would be a real help. Cant' wait to watch you do the entire campaign... YOU"RE IN FOR A REAL TREAT !
Unstuck just moved your character out of a location in which you are permanently stuck, like clipping out of bounds or something. Don’t worry too much about following the story, it will follow you, for the most part. Just go explore, find blueprints for things to make exploring easier and enjoy the scenery!
Ooooh this is such a good game! I can't wait to get started watching this series! For someone who loved Outer Wilds, I'm pretty certain you'll enjoy this too!
i agree, subnautica is a very unique game and very fun. im super excited for subnautica 2 to come out and im sure everyone else in the subnautica community is also!
Wow, you've done really well for the first hour. Common problems people have finding: bladder fish, creepwine seeds, cave sulfur, cutting things for samples, scanning things. :D This is going to be great. I hope you won't get spoiled, because I'm enjoying this a lot.
in 1 hour i would already be in the innactive lava zone lmao but its pretty impresive to see for a brand new player that knows nothing about the game and get this far in 1 hour

Yes! My favourite TH-camr playing my second favourite game (after Hollow Knight)! I’m so excited to see you play through Subnautica and hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Ooh, I hope you like this; I do love a good Subnautica playthrough! Such fun to see people discover all the mysteries here. A couple of quick, non-spoilery tips: 1. There are timed events, so it's best to keep recording, even if you have to edit stuff out afterwards. 2. You don't have an oxygen tank--not sure why you thought you did--so that's a good thing to build. 3. Scan stuff! You've been doing a bit, but more is good! Scans are better than samples, especially with your limited inventory! Scan fish, plants, rocks, and, most important, fragments! (To remind you, the PDA said that the way to recover those missing 80% of your blueprints is to scan fragments! You saw some fragments early on, in boxes, but haven't looked for them since you got the scanner.)
I find this very enjoyable to watch. To see the point of view of someone who knows so little about the game and just learning and experiencing it as you go. The reaction to things and adorkable ways of going about it all. Very fun to watch.
As you'll no doubt learn from playing Subnautica, we're a bit of a different community than most - one of the biggest pleasures of Subnautica isn't in playing it for the first time, it's in watching someone else play it for the first time, and that's what lead me to your channel. Your going into Subnautica with little prior knowledge makes your entrance into the game a delight to watch, especially your surprise at finding out it is a story in a science fiction setting. I adore the way you sing-song Alterra when you say the word, and that is what hooked me into keeping watching you play. I know I'm coming to this three weeks after you started play, and you have likely nearly finished the game by now, if indeed you haven't already finished, but I decided to subscribe to your channel less than 10 minutes into the video because of your wonderful voice, your sense of humor, and how playful a personality you seem to have. I'm looking forward to seeing you complete this game, and will definitely be checking out your Outer Wilds videos as well.
Subnautica? *Very* nice! Count me in, it is one of my favourite games. This game is much deeper (pun intended) than it appears at first glance, in terms of story, environments and mechanics, and if you decide to play through the whole game, you are in for quite a ride.

Something about Subnautica is so captivating. I’ve watched so many people play through and experience it, and from the Subnautica community, virtually everyone loves just watching the “boring” parts of swimming around and exploring.
Coming off the coattails of your Outer Wilds playthrough, I'm very excited to see you experience this game!
Subnautica is one of the best games of all time. All the mystery of what lurks beneath you. I can't wait until the 3rd installment.
Made my day to see you start this series.
Thank you!!😊
my excitement is immeasurable, and my day is blessed! im so excited to see you playing this game!
Out of dozens of playthroughs, this is the first time I've eve seen anyone go through this info, let alone start with it. No idea who this is, but subscribing, because I am impressed and invested
I love your voice. They make your playthroughs so relaxing. Thank you for the video.
"Non spoilery tip"? This is just backseating :P
If theres a game I could forget and play again, it certainly is this one. I am so jealous of people that can play this game for the first time.
Super excited for this! Perfectly suited to your video and play style, with a little bit of learning on the survival/crafting side.
So excited to see you play this! 🥰
Subnautica is the perfect game for an observant player like you, there's so much fantastic lore and worldbuilding!
Lol what, "observant" ?
-Makes a scanner, goes over 30 minutes without noticing the scanner icon in the bottom right
-Sees O2 tank as an option in Fabricator, doesnt make one cause she thought she had one.. somehow ?
-Loots Coral Samples, which says " incredient in Bleach fabrication " puts it in box and says "no idea what that is for" while staring at the text which tells what its for
-Runs into multiple Beacon fragments, few minutes later finds a cave and goes " Can i mark this somehow "
Yeah "observant" suuure xD
The scanner logs are your Dark Souls item lore. Scan everything that can be scanned and read everything that can be read.
I'm so excited for this!! Subnautica is one of my all time favourite games and I love watching Amber experience things for the first time!
When you first approached the big tentacle creatures, and the music hit and just your sense of awe at everything, it kind of made me emotional. It was so fascinating the first time I played this game, so it's wonderful to live it again vicariously through others!
Can't wait to see more :)
Ah sweet, I love Subnautica. Have missed some of your last videos because it's games I still have to play but I have played this already so glad to be back able to watch some videos, hope you enjoy it and play the second one as well
Love the green screen! Have fun playing in the water! Keep Walton away from the deep!
Damn, that has to be the longest I've seen anyone go without making the absoute basics (fins & O2 tank) :D
My favorite indie game! This should be good.
I have probably watched four or five youtubers play this game over the years, just to chase the joy of watching someone else discover the "oh my god" moments in this game. its amazing.
subnautica is one of the best gaming experiences ive ever had and im so happy ur playing it aaaa
WOOHOO! More Amber lets plays! I do hope you'll enjoy this one. Seeing some of the recent updates and how smoothly it's running for you has inspired me to download it again.
Me too! When I saw you can now build the large base stuff from S2, I was like 'yeeaasss'!
this is your first video I see.
This was so fun!! Love this, I'll keep watching.
Yey, I found myself a new Subnautica playthrough! I love watching people explore this world and discover the wild joy of this game.
Love the episode, a lot of fun to watch. Only advice is looking a little more at the crafting stuff a little more. Like the oxygen tank, you can have a spare one but right now you don't have one at all. Big boost to you diving ability, and the fins make you much faster.
Non-spoilery tip: Hold a hoverfish in your hand and look at it. Just look at the little rascal.
and a bladderfish with bright
lights behind you, look at the shadow!😀
Subnautica, my favourite game of all time. I love watching people play this for their first time.
Always love a blind lets play, I watch them while I'm playing games myself.
Your choice of games lately is excellent! I just finished playing this a couple months ago, and it was awesome. Excited to see your experience.
imagine finding yourself on an exo-planet with only a slightly-sarcastic PDA for company.
Definetly finish this game... its worth every second!
Non spoilery tips:
- scan everything, it's important; game always warn you when you have something unscanned in bottom right of a screen but you have to select scanner first
- grind supplies; yes, it is smart to have some supplies like water and food stucked in your inventory because that way you can explore more.
- check your basic equipment, see if you can craft something, you are basically naked.
- save often
- explore, explore, explore...
Really excited for this playthrough, I can't wait to see you explore planet 4546B further. You're doing good so far.
Some tips:
- scan everything, if the scanner icon appears on the bottom right, it means you've never scanned that object/creature before
- you're not wearing any equipement beside your suit and mask so craft the oxygen tank and fins to make exploration easier
- save often, you never know what could happen on this alien planet!
Eating fish, or cutting flora can help one gain information.
Your channel has been a big favorite of mine lately! Please keep up the amazing videos
Thank you so much 😊😭!
This is one of my favorite games of all time. I hope you finish it.
✊😃 Feeling spoit with all this new SymbaLily content. Thank you Amber, for your hard work and dedication. I think it's pretty safe to assume that we all really appreciate it
I had no idea you could find another game I'd love to see you try after Outer Wilds, I'm glad ! Have fun !
Glad to see you making content again, My wife and I have Missed your content!
Yes! My favourite TH-camr playing my second favourite game (after Hollow Knight)! I’m so excited to see you play through Subnautica and hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Back to back Outer Wilds and Subnautica - is this Christmas?!?! I can't wait to see more of this playthrough!!!
YES YES YES!!!
So excited for this to become a series.
This is one of my favorite games ever. Please keep playing.
Non-spoiler tip: Scan EVERYTHING.
Subnautica? *Very* nice! Count me in, it is one of my favourite games. This game is much deeper (pun intended) than it appears at first glance, in terms of story, environments and mechanics, and if you decide to play through the whole game, you are in for quite a ride.
She's like your super nice Auntie that gives you hugs everytime you pass by her house and has many plants
Oh my God I've been watching the first half of this video by now and just need to bring attention to the music again because I swear it is one of the best parts of this game, like a party underwater and I am so happy she appreciates it too!
Something about Subnautica is so captivating. I’ve watched so many people play through and experience it, and from the Subnautica community, virtually everyone loves just watching the “boring” parts of swimming around and exploring. So don’t worry because sometimes those quiet exploration moments are some of the best parts!
wow i’m so excited for this!!! the world of this game is so beautiful and i think you’re gonna love it❤❤
I've watched many Subnautica let's plays. They never get old! Looking forward to watching you experience this game!
More of a mystery-solving aspect than puzzles, but there is definitely a storyline; one of the best I've experienced in over 40 years of gaming.
