- XDefiant officially launched today and it is not really what I was expecting. I guess I was just under the assumption there would be more things to explore and unlock with the launch. I suppose it is still a pre-season so I'll be patient to see what happens next. Still enjoying my time with the game and will definitely be working towards level 100 on a weapon of choice.

EDIT: Let me make something clear. Camo challenges don't need to be the only thing. If they had a wide array of camo patterns to earn while making our way to weapon level 50, 75, and 100 that would have been infinitely better than nothing. I would happily accept that if they went the OG MW3 route and just based it all of XP especially because of how long it takes to rank up weapons. I understand this is pre-season but everything we see does not align with the initial conversations I had with the developers leading up to release.
While I'm happy XDefiant has officially launched I'm slightly disappointed that it lacks a variety of content. The game is still good fun to play and I'll definitely be earning my share of gold camos for hitting weapon rank 100.

Asking a game to put in dumb challenges like sliding kills or long shots is insane, gotta be the worst thing about Cod camo grind.

@@Navo198 why can’t we have the best of both worlds? Let us have a camp we get for leveling up our weapons (talking about cod) and have a master camo for MASTERING THE WEAPON. We should have to use the weapon in multiple ways to master it.

I wouldn't mind this if there were earnable camos. Mastery could have been completely separate with the xp like it is now. I'm just sad there is nothing else to earn between level 12-50 of my shotgun for example.

I think you may have had an expectation of the game that was never confirmed. I went into this launch pretty much expecting the battle pass to be bare bones, but the weapon skins in the bundles are really cool, imo. I do agree the prices are too high. I think daily deals should be 500-750.
But gameplay? I’m having a blast.
After 10 games or so, its definitely no cod killer BUT i had a lot of fun and the constant sweating not being present is extremely nice so I'll definitely be playing it and have hope for it's future

And about how many hours does it take to complete a battle pass? Because 50+ hours isn't realistic for everyone. I disagree with needing more too because it's way too often for me personally that I can't complete a battle pass because I don't feel like getting fired from my job to complete it.

I don’t think it’s the battle pass, it’s the fact the game overall doesn’t have much. Plus it’s the fact that apart from the bp it’s feel like the beta tho I didn’t play the beta or watch much. I am enjoying it a lot but I wouldn’t mind passive challenges like a calling card for 500 kills or something. There is no purpose to player level either yet we need to get lvl 50 for an achievement.

This game has damn near been marketed as a direct competitor to COD multiplayer and it is the same style of game so I think comparisons are fair play. Unfortunately, CODs stranglehold on the genre makes it extremely difficult for any competition to thrive ESPECIALLY when COD has been improving its gameplay and visuals over the better course of 15 years so it’s going to be hard for a competing developer to make their game feel as polished

True but the comparison to cod is bullsh1t this game is free! Cod you have to buy the game then the battle pass and they skins are overpriced… Xdefiant skins are also so much more chilled, you don’t feel like you “have” to buy skins, unlike cod that makes you feel like a looser if you don’t have a cool skin

Makes me laugh so much that everyone’s bashed cod for years but when a new FPS shooter enters the market you essentially ask for a COD copy and paste (with the camo challenges which btw were incredibly annoying) Xdefiant is probably the most fun I’ve had playing an online FPS shooter since the OG cod days

I'm having a great time. The gunplay is refreshing. Feels like an old school arcade FPS. I'm also a little bit disappointed on the amount of things there are to unlock but if that gets changed in the first season I'd be pretty happy.
Update after I got all the shotguns they all seem pretty inconsistent except the aa12 cause you can just hold down the trigger
It's exactly what I was expecting bc it's exactly what they said the preseason would be. It's not that we are "just playing the beta again" but we got to experience the full game in said beta.
I feel like the ttk is SUPER inconsistent. Sometimes I melt, sometimes I get melted even tho I shoot first and hit every shot and then it shows the enemy at full health. Idk if it’s the servers being overloaded but something feels wonky

It amazes me that this game was delayed and we had multiple playtests to test servers and give feedback.. It really seems like they changed nothing from the first beta.. it’s sad but it doesn’t surprise me that Ubisoft puts out the bare minimum..

I like the simplicity. They will add more over time. I’m not seeing why people want this game to be like cod. You can just switch back and forth now. I remember I used to have like four mp shooters to play. We’re finally getting another. Competition is good.
Firstly, it's Ubisoft, I don't think anyone had high hopes. Second, "slightly"? I sat in matchmaking for 10 minutes and couldn't find a single player

Use jump every time you want to get out from slide . It works very good
All I want from this game is to keep a healthy playerbase for one year. It’s been so nice to just casually game again, have a mixed bag of lobbies, and see every type of player. I can use whatever gun I want, whatever operator, rush like a chicken with its head cut off, and still succeed. I’ve missed that so bad for so long.
Why did you think it was going to be any different to the play tests?
I can’t stand challenges that force you to utilize playstyles you don’t want. I’m so glad the challenges are simple playtime challenges.

I like that there are no challenges for specific camos, I enjoyed the mw3 system of earning camos through EXP
I've definitely noticed the sliding thing where there is a bit if a pause, unless you jump out of a slide.
Just like everything Ubisoft makes turns dissapointing, this one is not different.
You can cancel sliding by jumping which actually feels pretty satisfying imo
the thing that makes me feel pretty disappointed is that it feels like the past year was spent doing nothing, I've played almost every beta this game has had and haven't felt like theres been really any major improvement anywhere, I know the past year was mainly spent on networking, but even then the networking feels just okay, the lack of content compared to a year ago has me worried about the future of the game, IMHO this "launch" feels like Ubisoft making an excuse to have an open beta they can monetize, when I heard it was launching this month I was honestly shocked because it felt far from ready

My big thing that ive had noticed since my first ever game on XD compared to full launch is the pace of the game has changed dramatically , idk it felt smoother and more faster as well as the slide change..idk man weill see hope this game isn't another hyperscape 🚶🏻

As someone who loves cod multiplayer but hated the yearly cycle. I haven’t seen anything about this game until it released on PS5 and man am I so happy to have something similar. While not to the expectations set before launch, as someone who hasn’t kept up, this game is great!
I was on for about a hour and in that time I played one or two ranked matches are normal game modes I couldn’t a game to save me.. even when playing there was one or two people in the lobby’s.. 3v1 at one point which is just crazy. Good gameplay but hopefully by the weekend it’s all ironed out.
I don't mind the pricing as long as game is well kept supported and free to play .

Fine by me, COD actually had movement once upon a time too. Try aiming or play a slower paced game that suits your playstyle.

Xdefiant was really lagging for me on a ryzen 7 5800x 3060ti. The game was unplayable i turned everything down but made no difference. Said i had 144 fps but the game was unplayable. Has anyone had the same issue? Or does anyone know how to fix it?
Maybe it's a connection issue? Can you play more graphically demanding games like halo infinite or the finals without any problem?

I mostly dont like the damage/hit registry. It seems all my weapons are pea shooters and everyone elses is a tank cannon. I die so fast and everyone else dies so slow

I had a bad feeling when we had so many maps in the beta. I don’t understand how these developers don’t understand how important maps are. They basically ARE the game, and when you’re in the same areas over n over without any new areas to help keep everything else fresh, than things get stale. That’s one of the main reasons imo on why the OG CoD’s had so much replay ability, wayyy more maps and way more heart put into them.
I am enjoying it! My only disappointment so far is the lack of team deatmatch and training mode being unavailable for some reason
I think that not having monotonous challenges that mean nothing being the biggest problem it is pretty good. No skill based matchmaking and an excellent foundation for game play is all I personally need.

The movement and gun play still feel clunky to me. Idk what settings to change to fix it. Maybe it’s just how the game is designed and I’m too used to CoD.

No one knows as no one has hit the max level yet. However devs did say there will be a prestige system but I’m not sure if we will be able to prestige yet as it is pre season I could but completely wrong though 🤙🏼
@@larennhunt6860I’ve already hit the level cap. No there is no prestige. Hoping they add one soon tho. Also, I’d like to see emblems and calling cards make a return. Maybe a nuke feature for getting 30 kills in a row. Old school cods had the best grinds. MW2 had the best emblems and calling cards.

Other than the server issues (not be able to find a match), ive had a blast on this game.
Some minor hit reg issues, ill die after getting around a corner from time to time. Ill have my shots no-reg every once in a while. But over all, im quite pleased. Im hoping some of these minor issues are just from the servers being overwhelmed while the community all loaded it up.
Most of the maps are fun. Ive ran into some cool people on VC already. Ill be leaving COD on "OFF" for a while. Hoping i can get my friend group to give COD a break and play XDEFIANT. This game will be a ton of fun with a team using comms and using their abilities strategically.
This game released with a severe content drought issue. And i don't see this being alive more than a year.
They need to add hardcore for those secondaries though. Lvl 100 for pistols is kinda insane with this ttk

Yeah sliding does feel slugish. I think the best way to dodge mid fight is to hold sprint and spam jump.
mark rubin tweeted that there wasn’t going to be anything new added they were only working on the stuff in the background so idk why you expected stuff you do the same with cod you expect things when you know it won’t come

It takes a while to level up weapons, and your character, but i enjoyed the gameplay. I do feel however they needed more in here, maybe a tdm mode as well just to let players just test abilities and practics gameplay.

I don’t mind challenges like kills with no attachments, headshots, get a 3 killstreak a bunch of times, and stuff like that. Those actually force you to improve with the weapon. But dumb shit like longshots on close range weapons or sliding kills just force you to play stupid and don’t at all show mastery of a weapon
Shit got boring after 4 matches … I was excited to play a new fps but this is mid at best it feels like shatterline
I hope they adopt the halo infinite battlepass model in terms of keeping the pass as a permanent unlock
You know what the sad thing is about the prices? People buy those $30+ bundles all the time. These companies won't be letting go of those juicy monetary gains any time soon.
I know people who buy into these types of microtransactions all the time in multiple games. It's a money pit, but there you go.

yes prestige the sliding feels a little awkward, as if after sliding the character is stuck and don't want to move
I was surprised there was literally no skins to unlock besides mastery camos, and I think the weapon progression is abit slow especially for having 100 levels to go through on top of that, I never played any of the beta's since I only just upgraded to ps5 so all this is new to me so my opinion is probably different to everyone else who's played this but even still there just isn't enough to do
I think the game is great honestly. I definitely agree that there is some clunkyness to the movement. But overall what I think might be going on (and it should’ve already been done), is they might listen to feedback and then add in features or revert features into the game throughout the preseason maybe?? Maybe I’m also delusional. I’m so happy the game came out tho
