This is the Zelda game that I grew up on and replayed countless times. My dad, who got me into Zelda, was the same but for Twilight princess. Im also a huge lore guy so finding out that demise was the start of the whole curse that plays out through the series blew my mind. I cannot put into words how amazing I felt when I heard the master sword in TOTK make the same noises Fi makes as it communicates with Zelda. It actually made my eyes water bc I was so happy. I loved every single part of this game and it is defiantly over hated.
NOT EVEN JOKING, I JUST BEAT THE GAME A FEW HOURS AGO AFTER MONTHS OF PLAYING IT. the timing is crazy 😭 but yes IT IS SO UNDERRATED! the story is just SO GOOD!
The final fight at the end with Ghirahim and Demise was one of the best in the whole series. Impa and Fi are some of the most important characters of all time and it arguably has the best version of Zelda. The relationship between Link and Zelda make it a lot more meaningful and I also think it has some of the best dungeons and music in the whole series. It doesn’t feel like a traditional Zelda game because instead of riding around on a horse you are riding around on a loft wing while living up in the sky. Collecting treasure was also really fun in this game and I particularly enjoyed visiting places such as Bamboo Island, Fun Fun Island, Pumpkin Patch Landing, and Thrill Digger. The Silent Realms were also pretty interesting and fun to speed run through. Overall I had a really good experience with Skyward Sword and I think more people should give it a chance especially because of the dungeons, music, characters, and story.
I've come back 2 weeks later to say : Skyward Sword HD is AMAZING!!!!!! I definitely remember how it used to be, the duo joycon is where its at for this game man. All it needed was this. Its great I can't wait to get off Skyloft but man... crazy that for once, motion controls are actually the optimal way to play.
Just got it last month for the switch. The motion controls were the entire reason I never played it in 2011. I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase of liking this game but I kinda think that Skyward Sword is actually 2nd place only behind OOT. This game is so good and the ultimate "classic" Zelda experience. I truly think this game is going to age better than every other 3D zelda game besides OOT. Ocarina of time is just on the pantheon of best games ever to be created so what can you do lol.
I played it first time on switch and while I understand why many would have their judgement clouded by the Wii version, the game is SO GOOD! Some of the best elements of Zelda games, one of the best stories, side quests, dungeons, characters and bosses. 3rd fav Zelda behind TOTK and OoT
While I still prefer mostly all other Zelda games, I do love Skyward Sword. I think that's mostly because I've only played the switch port. I think it gets a lot of hate due to the motion controls
Skyward sword has only 1 problem, and it's definitely motion controls lmao, I would get over it, but (at least back on wii) it never worked properly, I'd have to constantly have to pause the game to recalibrate it, only for it to be messed up again within 2 minutes (swing wiimote down, link swings sword in a completely different direction, which was made expecially annoying my the enemies that requires you to swing a certain way, and no matter what you do, link bounces off, cause he just refuses to swing the way you do
Didn't care for Girahim at all but Demise bro, THAT guy might honestly surpass Ganondorf as a threat for me. He steals the show it's too bad he's only around for one game, definitely a guy who is scary but you definitely respect the guy.
My opinions on it since it originally released haven't changed at all. It's definitely not bad or even my least favorite Zelda. My main gripe is definitely the motion controls. And hey, Twilight Princess on the Wii and Metroid Prime Trilogy are similarly plauged with them too so it's not an isolated incident with just SS. Anyway, the motion controls just aren't fun for me, just unresponsive and shoved in everywhere. Say what you will about older Zelda Z targeting combat but it was always engaging compared to this where it just feels gimmicky. Haven't played the Switch version yet though so who knows maybe it's better. I'm open minded about it. But on all other points i agree. Music, atmosphere, world building, dungeon design, yeah. I'd definitely say it's better than BotW and TotK from a fun factor.
I would say the linear style of Zelda makes room for way better storytelling and story progression which is exactly what makes Skyward Sword stand out despite its pacing and unnecessary backtracking. The controls were a bit clunky and weird at first but as I got used to it the game actually became really fun. The switch version is definitely the ideal version.
It's all subjective, but Skyward Sword does a lot of things better than BOTW (and vice versa). Skyward Sword does classic Zelda a lot better than BOTW (such as dungeons, items, music, bosses), but BOTW is obviously open world and "do it your own way", which is all some people really need
It’s not a crazy take at all. I still prefer Breath of the Wild because of its superior gameplay abilities and overworld exploration but Skyward Sword has better dungeons, music, characters, and story. Skyward Sword also has objectively one of the best endings ever and one of the greatest final bosses in the series.
I think you haven't played this game on the Wii, as Fi is much more annoying than on the Switch to the point where it's a real problem. It was most people's criticism at launch, and yeah motion controls were divisive to say the least but even then they weren't really that bad
Finally, someone with good taste

@Hud Hahaha, I Loved How You Ended This Video: "Okay, Video Over Now!" 😂🤣 You Defended Skyward Sword Well...I Might Have To Play That Game! 😉
I've come back 2 weeks later to say :
Skyward Sword HD is AMAZING!!!!!!
I definitely remember how it used to be, the duo joycon is where its at for this game man. All it needed was this.

Completely agree
Oh and being able to skip text AND cutscenes is a total game changer too.
Been waiting for this one. Still playing through it again
Skyward Sword is absolutely amazing! The Imprisoned One is annoying though....
I played it first time on switch and while I understand why many would have their judgement clouded by the Wii version, the game is SO GOOD! Some of the best elements of Zelda games, one of the best stories, side quests, dungeons, characters and bosses. 3rd fav Zelda behind TOTK and OoT
That's my exact top 3 Zelda games too
@@RealHud Great minds think alike
This is my favorite video game of all time
Good choice.
Skyward Sword is so great! Almost better than the masterpiece that is Majora's Mask (as you would agree).
Twilight Princess imo is the best Zelda game oat (of all time)
I loved it on release
While I still prefer mostly all other Zelda games, I do love Skyward Sword.

I love skiward swan
Squidward Sword
Skyrim squirt

Zant and Ghirahim were my favorite Zelda protagonists in the series.
I love this game and i atill get a lot of hate in personal life when I say that skyward sword is better imo

Calling skyward sword better than botw is crazy. guess I'll have to check out the game? 🤔
It's worth trying out the HD version on Switch. The original on Wii has far more issues
It's all subjective, but Skyward Sword does a lot of things better than BOTW (and vice versa). Skyward Sword does classic Zelda a lot better than BOTW (such as dungeons, items, music, bosses), but BOTW is obviously open world and "do it your own way", which is all some people really need

@@RealHud You played the Wii version?
@@captainkittyca2 No. I've watched a lot of gameplay of it for the video though, and I noticed more problems, particularly with Fi.

It’s Fair To Say Zelda Games Are OVERRATED!
