The movie is AWESOME! I watched it 2x in Netflix! I fell in love with JLaw in this film! Even if ive seen her in all her other previous movies!

@@tchoythao1730CA has the best weather, has most entertainment, has the most variety of foods, you can go to the beach, hike mountains, go in ski resorts, atv in the desert all within a short distance of each other. All the music events happen there. It is only bad to live there if you are new to the state and have low income. Since most people prefer CA over some backward red state, supply and demand does occur and make it expensive to live there. Any area in the world with high population is expensive: Tokyo, London, Paris, Toronto, etc.

It's a movie everyone. The good guy didn't win and the beautiful girl walks away.
I mean, he did eventually get a sense of what it was like to be in a relationship (even if it was initially purely transactional) and at a subconscious level that improves your confidence and self image. Maddie's character learns something too about maturity; and hopefully in her next relationship she'll be a better person too. The ending is partial happy since he "technically" didn't have sex, but in his head he's willing to accept that as the "win" and just move on to college and hopefully just ball out with the chicks there (he def needs to join a Fraternity; or find a social club he can build an identity around and then he should be able to get a gf in school.

It was great all around. Maddie was a pretty flawed woman and was selfish with accepting that deal from that couple. However it showed she was not that terrible and the biggest thing showing her limits was not taking advantage of the drunk Percy to rape him and get her end of the deal over with. In a word, she was the result of an affair a man had with her mother and to keep them quiet and out of his way and life, he got them a house out in Montauk, Suffolk.
As a teenager, Maddie reached out to him only to have her letter returned and unopened giving the message that her father truly wanted nothing to do with her and that never changed. Her stint of hurting whatever men she could get in close was lashing out in pain. The first sign of how her time with Percy changed her was being unable to see the men she brought to her house as simply new targets to hurt. Burning that letter said she fully accepted her father's choices and that she'd have to get herself out of her debt. This car scene said she accepted her flaws and bad choices and how much Percy changed her.
You all are missing it - she gets a Buick Regal with the 3800 series 2 motor. HELLO !! The series 2 was and is the most reliable motor ever built by GM. ….all the rest is a side show.

One of the things that these types of settings and movies don’t talk about, but is blatantly obvious when the years pass, is that 20 years from now, Percy will be 39 and likely be successful. Maddie will be 52 and still in the working class.
And Percy will be kicking it with younger women, while Maddie will feel fortunate that men in their 60’s are still pursuing her.
Life is tough for both men and women in the game of social interaction. It’s tougher for men in the younger years, but tougher for women in the older years.
This things are real.When I discussed with my friends they rejected the idea of sex with older women and on the other side girls are willing to date older men more than young boys.In our localities many young girls lost virginity to and are in relationship with older dudes.
What would’ve been the cherry on top for me is after she catches on fire, he says,
“Oh shit, you’re on fire!!!”
(She screams)
“Hold on, I’m drivin’ into then ocean!”
(He hooks a sharp right towards the water and she rolls right off into the sand in the opposite direction)

movie was good, only thing that blows was she became his friend and didn't hook up with him. having an older girlfriend is a whole lot better than being just friends. movie was funny tho, def gave off mid 00's RC vibes.

She’s not even old. I hate how we demonize age in this society. Yeah they’re way too far apart in age to date in my opinion but she is not old she’s like a year or two older than me and I don’t think she’s old but whatever. I would never date anyone under 30 my husband is 30 and I’m 32 it’s just a personal preference though some people are different obviously
