  • Hip and Knee Problems in Dogs. Release These Muscles
It is common for dogs to get knee and hip injuries. These injuries can range from acute to chronic and are very painful to slightly sore.
When the knee or hip joint is injured and inflamed, it is important to release the muscles that cross the joint and help to produce movement in the joint.
When the joint is injured the same muscles that help to produce movement can tighten. This muscle tightness or muscle spasm can be very obvious but most of the time it's very subtle and can lead to compression and muscle guarding around the injured area.
This can cause a decreased range of motion and therefore increase the likelihood of further joint degeneration at an increased rate.
In this video, Dr. Adam shows you a simple way to landmark and stretch the groin muscles that act on the hip and knee.

Very helpful, my lab has a pulled muscle groin on his right side. The vet told me to do this motion. Also, I have to work on his lower back from it being so tense. If you have any other help of what I should do please let me know.

I've been researching so much about weakness in hind legs. My dog is only 2 years old, and she already has weakness and is reluctant to stand up. When she does stand up, both her hind legs are tucked in upwards and she slowly puts them down. When she finally has both on the ground, I've seen she walks with both her knees touching and paws spread outwards. I've been to 3 different vets and all have said they cant find anything. What could be wrong?

@@John-cx5pz Protein deficiency is unlikely to be the cause of any joint pain in a 2-year-old dog who is eating a normal diet and is otherwise healthy.

@pinkeyemaster Have you taken her to a chiropractor? They might have some experience with this.

Depends on the condition. However, swimming is a great non-weight bearing activity that keeps the muscles engaged without the impact on the joint.

Was about to do surgery on my dog. Put him on the X-39 patch and it worked wonders. Unbelievable results. YT will not let me say anything else about it . Just look it up . I tried to give more info on it but YT removed everyone. I can not even tell that he has hip dysplasia now.
