  • After letting some time pass by I figured it was a good time to share my thoughts on the Eminem and MGK beef which I believe was a pretty one sided battle. Enjoy!

It blows my mind that anyone actually thinks MGK won or even stood a chance. This was not a "beef", this was a rap suicide on MGK's part.

Mgk lost this one really bad. When I go into rap music in general, I look for the rhyme schemes, bars and pretty much anything technical about an emcee’s verses. Rap Devil was in no form technical at all. He had a few good bars, but with Killshot, almost every line was a dope bar. Folks saying Mgk won, simply do not like Eminem (I don’t understand why though). Em won this 🔥 🔥 fair and square.

Here is why your opinion is wrong:
Who gained the most from the beef? MGK (He was definitely right with that "you're angry becasue all of your fans discovered me. Every one of his comment sections are littered with new die hard fans, and no one of his fans is discarding him as a rapper because he dissed eminem).
Who painted the worst picture of the opponent? MGK (Eminem didn't say anything about MGK. He reiterated that he is richer and more successful, but while truthful, they didn't hold any weight as disses, because MGK's response was from a point of disappointment, and he had already denounced him for being made by another rapper, which removes the value of any form of big boy talk from the equation.
Who showed to be the more competent rapper? Eminem (I don't need to explain it. Even tho I don't think that lyrical complexity makes a song better, especially diss tracks, it still was written better).
Has any of the two declined after the beef? None of the two. MGK is more famous than before, and eminem is exactly where he was before. In fact, eminem's new album sold just a bit more than half what Kamikaze did, which is revival's numbers.
MGK clearly won the beef.. even in the aftermath, when eminem made song number 4-5 and 6 about him, he laughed it off, showing that eminem was the more affected part. It's obvious to me, I don't understand why you'd think the opposite, since the MGK and Em beef is the exact opposite of any other em beef..

ReallyUnexplainable good response love the passion and you brought good points and yes I agree MGk gained more in terms of popularity but I’m more looking at the two records and deciding which one nailed the mark more and I think Killashot did but you are right MGK gained more from it

@@slimsreturn4990 I appreciate you being reasonable when judging my opinion, but regarding the record themselves, I still think that our opinions might differ. I think it all boils down to what the priority of a song's aspects you have when judging them.
Whether it's lyrics, beat, flow, or actual disses, I see eminem making killshot based on Lyrics first of all, flow right after, beat as second to last, and disses right at the bottom. MGK on the other hand went for disses, lyrics, beat, and flow.
In normal songs disses are not common, and in their place is storytelling, but diss tracks are a specific kind of songs, and by eminem's very own standard, who claims that the best diss track in the history was hit em up, a song with multiple rappers, a chorus, and very basic and direct lines, diss tracks should be number one.
Of course, I found killshot written better and more entertaining, but rap devil was more of a pure diss track, and apparently that's the professional opinion, because aside from 50, everyone said that MGK had the better diss track. That eminem did exactly what they expected him to do, and that was to press on his lyrical ability. But diss tracks need disses man.. At least for me.
