- Pop diva KUH LEDESMA singing her award winning song TILL I MET YOU composed by Odette Quesada ( 6th Metro Manila Popular Music Festival Grand Prize Winner Professional Division in 1983 ) at the prestigious ROYAL ALBERT HALL, LONDON during the 1989 SALEM MUSIC AWARDS night with other Asian superstars.

I'm from the Bronx, NY, USA. Kuh Ledesma is my favorite Filipina singer, and one of my very favorite singers period. Beautiful.
I think either her or Lea Salonga is the best Filipino singer, even better than Regine Velasquez. Her tone is unique -- you know it's her singing. Regine could actually eclipse Kuh when it comes to Broadway songs but overall, Kuh and Lea are the gold classy standards.

She's one of the Philippine female artists who can really perform well on stage.
Gandang ganda ako sa kanya..titigan mo matagal mukhat mata nya lalong gumaganda. At ang boses jusko supeeer soothing, imported quality parang pinaghalo ng mga paborito kong mga soul singers nuon na sina Irene Kara at Angela Boufil na may timbreng Barbra Streisand na kaunti sa nasal vibrato at sustained high notes. She's one of a kind and the classiest female Pinoy act after Celeste Legaspi.

They were given that originality. There had to be someone that paves the pathway first. Better yet, it was the era that was a simple one. Hence, even their rhythm is simple, yet strong, reminiscent/meaningful and an inspiration to all! The thing is, everything now has been kind of been 'said and done' already, so that's why! Or another reason is, there's a deep tendency for people to copy and paste certain styles of singing and the voice! As the original does it y'know, best. There's always that lingering feeling, haha so to say!
(As it is a natural struggle for a lot of good singers. Especially a country that produces them!) But if you naturally sound alike to another artist, it's not a shame either so long as you stay true to your real voice!
But best not be discouraged for anyone who reads this comment, who loves to sing!
A skill and or talent of a Filipino who wants to be seen is usually done well! And the proof is -Filipinos have already been known or have that stigma, throughout the world as renowed singers or vocalists, automatically! America, Europe, and other Asian countries like Korea, know we are a community that sings LOL! Again, it's no wonder it's hard to stand out even if you are an authentic singer!
At this point it shouldn't be treated like a competition but a will to continue on, learn and just go with that passion. There will always be someone who can hold a note longer or can memorize better with emotions but it doesn't mean you don't have your own quirks or you can't do something like it! Hold on your own range. Hold your own character. And be thankful that Philippines is seen as a bunch of talented people! I pride over that!

Kuh Ledesma is like a princess, with so.much class in every way, very elegant. And of course an amazing talent of our generation. To this day, I haven't seen an artist who would equal to Kuh Ledesma in all aspects as an entertainer, and as a person with a heart of gold I believed she has made philanthropic deeds in our Alma Mater... Malate Catholic School in the early '80's. We missed you Lady Kuh Ledesma! Wish you well ❤❤❤

She owns "Hacienda Isabela" and she uses it to adopt frontliners (coz she is a registered nurse) and these people use it as their home during this pandemic. That's how good of a person Kuh Ledesma is.

She’s not called a diva for nothing. Odette Quesada’s Lola had to convince Kuh to interpret Til I Met You as entry to the Metropop Songwriting competition. It’s ironic that the song that she refused to sing initially turned out to be her biggest hit in her entire career if not *_FIRST_* identified with in the mention of her name.

The winner from Malaysia died of sorcery/dukun (Barang). In Malaysia this black magic still exist and prevalent. The Malaysian singer, composer sold his soul to the devil long long time ago to gain fame, money, popularity (his own sister attested to this fact and they released documentary about it).
In contrast Ms Kuh Ledesma embrace the God Most High, entered His peace and walk in His iridescent light and no evil of darkness come near her. She is blessed here to eternity. Praise the Lord.
That's a lie from you. I watched the documentary and I understand the Malay language very well, read all the news about the singer tragic health decline in July, 1991 till his last breath in Feb, 1992. The winner from Malaysia which is Sudirman died because of pneumonia but the sorcery thingy happened to him because someone are jealousy and sent the black magic to hurt him till his last breath. Sudirman did not sold his soul to the devil to gain fame, money and popularity. His family is not a poor family. When you became popular and your pocket money is comfort, not everyone around will love you. Those who hate will use everything to put it to the end. This is happened to Sudirman.
And Robert, please don't be double face here, in other video, you praised the Malayan race (Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei) for having qualities singers but here you bashing the winner from Malaysia.
