Kris. The scenery is gorgeous. One of my favorite videos. Great Job! By the way, your Polestar videos were really helpful with my purchase of a Polestar 2. You did such a great job with your Polestar reviews, I decided to test drive one myself. I fell in love with the car right away. I picked up my Polestar 2 dual motor 2 months ago and put 2300 miles on it already. Absolutely my favorite car ever. Thanks for all the videos.
Superb, and astonishing landscape !!! Your vids are getting better and better each time. Congrats Kris, really love it !!!! Greetings from Barcelona :=)
So great that you introduce the car. I've watched a few of your excellent videos and I mix up which models of the PS2 you are driving. Thanks for saying this is your LF Dual Motor version. Its appreciated.
So I'm up to about 6 weeks of Polestar ownership now and here in Colorado, the Rocky Mountains are just too tempting and I keep doing mountain drives. I've already hit 2000 miles / 3200km, even got some great shots from 4.25 km altitude. But those mountains over there, gorgeous! You've successfully made me jealous :D
Your driver screen at 15:45 indicates a range of 110 km at 23% SOC. This corresponds to more than 470 km with a full battery (at this low consumption). It would now be interesting to see the estmated range after charging.
Great videos Kris. I thought PS had a deal with Ionity now. It would be interesting to know how you would do these trips with the same access to charging that would be available to a Polestar owner. Looking forward to getting my PS 2 in September but I obviously won't have access to the Audi card.
The seats in the Polestar 2 are SO MUCH BETTER 😊The spors seats I have in my E-Tron are fine and all, but a little hard to sit on. So I start to feel it in my bottom after 3-4 hours on the road. The PS2 seats are soft enough, but still firm and supportive for long trips. Volvo/Polestar still have the best seats in the industry IMO.
@@KrisRifa What about noise level comparison, particularly in motorways at e.g. 120-130 Km/h? I read in several places that the E-Tron feels like a Mercedes S-Class, which is setting the benchmark quite high (I have a W212 E-Class 250CDI and it is quite silent & comfortable already), so this comparison would also be very interesting for those of us who drive mostly on motorways. Thanks!
How would you compare these seats with the comfort seats, which are also an option on the e-tron quattro? 🙂 Seen here, in your review of the Sportback; m.th-cam.com/video/kcMIit8d0lY/w-d-xo.html
Yes I think the Polestar 2 is really great but only issue I see is the cup holders, they really messed up on the design when you have two people in the front who both need a cupholder.
Nope, but there has been proposed to build one for years that would take the travel time down from 7 hours to 4 hours in summer and down from 8 hours in winter. This road is usually closed in winter because of snow and bad weather. They are building 4 lanes from Oslo to Hønefoss and maybe from Bergen to Voss, so a total of 160km of the 450km that is the ditance between Oslo and Bergen. My prediction is that you will however be able to drive on a 4 lane motorway between Oslo and Bergen along the south coast of Norway within 10-15 years through Kristiansand and Stavanger since this road is almost halfway done and the rest is either under construction or in the planning fase. But that means much longer route of around 700km, but with speed limits of 110kph and soon 120kph this road will probably be just as fast or even faster in summer. And in winter you will not only save around an hour, but no need for crossing mountains for delays due to weather 😊
@@KrisRifa A such long trip on 2 lane road in the winter is a real headache. I believe folks who are rich enough can use the reknown ferry system along the coast even in the winter.
@@nevco8774 ferries run all year round. They are integral part of our road system. They are expensive, but a super tip is to get a prepaid AutoPASS for ferje (ferry), that gives you 50% on the already 50% rebate on an EV-ferry ticket, ergo only paying 25% of the normal price. Did you know that Kris?
I tried out a polestar2 today. Am I the only one whose knee was constantly bashing into the centre console? I couldn't really get comfortable. Lovely car to drive though.
Though it is true I love the Polestar 2, I'm very lucky to have this car on loan from Polestar to make these videos for you guys 😊Hopefully I will have it for a little while longer, so I can give you guys a hint that because of that I won't be buying one. I will make a video here next week about what car I will buy, and will actually give you guys a vote so you'll have influence on my next car. I want it to be something you guys would be interested in watching 😊

@@bluebikerathar I can’t see Kris buying anything else than a German/Swedish car. 😄 On the other hand, he doesn’t seem to drive his own car that often, so a more affordable one would make sense.. Seat el-born would be a good choice, but I think he’ll buy the BMW i4 M50. 🤩
What’s the charging like in the current Polestar 2 with current software? My biggest issue with the car, and the main thing that would stop me buying one, is that the Ioniq 5 is now available. I don’t want to sit around for 35-40 minutes when I can spend just 20 minutes charging.
Buying a car is always a tradeoff - I assume Polestar 2 has better seat comfort and performance, Ioniq 5 faster charging and more interior space. Decisions, decisions....
I guess your last videos with Polestar convinced me to idea of ev so I'm taking P2 for a test drive next week ;) Does anyone know how long it takes to get the car after ordering it? Any dicounts on "Kris Rifa" code? 😂
The website gives you an estimate of when you would get the car, so you could look there. They might also have one near that you can just walk in and buy. Various car manufacturers do that. It will most likely be a little country dependent so someone’s answer on here might be wrong for your country.
I wonder if EVs are a good option for people in Siberia, saw a video the other day about people's life (or struggle) in the cold. There are regular ICE cars that just won't start, some even leave them on because of the hassle of trying to cold start them, others have heated garages but that's not an option for many. When it comes to EVs either the battery will "die" because the internal resistance will be nulled due to the superconducting behaviour at those temperatures, or the system will drain it trying to keep it in good condition preventing the former to occur. The latter is probably preferred but you'd also have a car you can't fully make use of and would have to recharge multiple times a day or per travel.
EV’s are perfect for winter use. No need to wait for heat in the engine before flooring it, and instant heat in the cabin and all that takes to have it preheated and warm and cosy in the morning, is a simple line running 10A. That will keep the battery just fine. Electricity is found almost everywhere people can live, but petrol stations not so much. In -25 Celsius, you loose around 30-40% of your battery. In my Taycan, that equates to still having 310-320km of range in deep freezing temperatures.
YT ist full of Videos testing EVs even in extreme cold conditions. Of course consumption is higher and efficency lower, but its the same with ICE cars who even needs to idle while parking, thats not very efficient either. And have you ever driven behind a cold diesel car or truck in extreme cold conditions? Thats just a horrible smell...
There is need for explanation for difference in safety technology forced by regulations: in Europe a front passenger airbag disconection is optional for child car seat use while in North America it is completely illegal since no ability to disable that airbag is ever allowed by law hence the child car seat HAS to be latched ONLY in the second row of seats in the vehicle. I understand that in Europe even one car seats row cars like a Smart car should permit travelling with small kids in a child car seat besides the driver. In North America that scenario is virtually impossible and all vehicles carrying children in special car seats should have at least 2 rows of seats.
Yeah in North America you guys still have som ancient laws and regulations that gives strange restrictions like this. Also Matrix and adaptive headlights are not allowed, so not only are out headlights brighter over here but work much better irl.
