I still can’t believe what Ufotable was able to do with this fight, which to me is one of the most epic in Anime history because of the god-tier animation, voice acting, and OST. I felt like I was watching a movie
the fire at the end of the episode I think is based on the great fire of Meireki were a monk accidentally started a fire that burned down most of Edo (tokyo). He started the fire trying to incenerate a kimono that he thought was possessed by a demon. One of the demons is a kimono demon so I think they it was a bit of retelling of history.
you know the new pm of Japan Fumio Kishida is a demon slayer fan and he pledged to support the anime industry, even the opening theme of demon slayer was played at the closing ceremony of Tokyo Olympics. This shows how this anime is so close to Japan's heart. Ufotable did justice to all that emotions and even more. Hands down to the best animation ever
PEAK entertainment. Victory from the jaws of defeat on steroids. I got chills from the way they claw you back from a literal cataclysm when each of them turn up. Even the lowest upper rank is ridiculously strong. The scale of this animation is crazy and the sheer spiritual pressure I was feeling through the screen is indescribable. Uzui's OST plus him being the Sound Hashira figuring out the score is perfection 👌 Epic is literally the only word to describe what Ufotable has elevated this show to. They just can't stop one-upping themselves 😭 As for the point about it not being as good if it didn't have this animation, I understand but also think the reverse can be argued. Imo, the story often doesn't get it's flowers for facilitating the tension and meaningful payoffs alongside the visuals that elevate those moments.

And there is a reason for that ending, since it based on a real tragedy on also a real place yoshiwara, an entertainment district long ago, i think they based on a real great fire of meireki temple.. That was just burnt everything down.. Combined that with.the photorealistic fire, it been said that if anyone that live during that great fire and saw that ending video, they will think that it was a record of the great fire.
Anime is almost always an adaptation of the source material, whether it is manga or a light novel, or visual novel. So an anime is highly dependent on its animation and sound. As much as I am loving Attack On Titan, ever since season 4, it is mostly just showing the manga to us (from what I heard from a manga reader). Demon Slayer is going far above that. AoT's strength is the source material it is adapting its story from. Demon Slayer's strength is the actual anime itself. BTW, I am not saying AoT doesn't have good music and animation cause it does (ESPECIALLY back when WiT worked on it), and I am also not saying Demon Slayer doesn't have a good story, cause it does. These two animes alone are making this the best season of anime ever

BUT they weren’t sure, until he sent his wives, and once they stopped responding, it became very personal (he cares more about his wives than the mission.) He even admitted his love for his wives blinded him and led him to lead others into certain death. But ultimately, no one knew there was an upper rank, only Uzui had suspicions since he wives went missing.
It wasn't a self destruct! The moment when Tanjiro is about to cut Gyutaro's head, Gyutaro says 'i have to unleash the rotating slashes now' That's what that attack was! Remember when in season 1 Tanjiro meets Miss Tamayo and that arrow Demon's attack gets to Tanjiro even after he was beheaded!

I try to make this point alot, but what makes this series pop so much is its overall production rather than flat out visuals. The art, directing, voice acting, and care they put into these scenes make it fucking incredible. Of course an action shounen will be better if the animation is insane, but look at a series like fate to this. The material is still something special for ufotable to be able to make it feel how it does, although I'm not a manga reader myself. I can't help but think there's just no way even a series like my hero would be THIS good if ufotable picked it up. The suspense and feeling of desperation can only be elevated in the first place because of the Mangas intentions. Ufotable picked the perfect series out of all these newer shounen to do, it's perfect for their style and I cannot believe we get an entire series like this. Easily one of the greatest anime productions of all time, my fucking God it's haw dropping.

For clarification: tanjiro did have a form change when his scar and hair changed. It’s not just animated to make it look better like the breathing styles animation. He canonically had a transformation!
The reason they don't send out multiple hashiras to a single assignment is because 1. Each hashira has a region where they patrol and take care of demons. They cannot spare a hashira because that would lead to a dramatic increase in demon attacks in that hashira's region 2. Upper moons are very hard to find and even harder to take down. It takes 2-3 hashiras to kill an upper moon and even then there are casualties 3. If Muzan finds out that all the hashira are sent on the same assignment, he can just send out like 3 or 4 upper moons to eliminate all of them in single fell swoop. The demon slayer corps will cease to exist without its pillars.
This red light district arc is indeed my favorite but the last arc fights are just...all I can say even when I was just reading the manga I was holding my breath each chapter. I cant imagine how I will react when the uppermoon fights get animated.
Truth. If this is the level of effort ufotable is going to put in to this show, those later fights are going to literally melt our eyeballs. Can’t wait.

13:18 explosion in the intro is from strike of Uzui, they skipped the explanation in anime, but manga says that when he lands a clean hit with his swords explosion happens. It happened several times during fight.
