Inosuke really helpped out a lot. He found out about the "locker", went to it, freed zenitsu, tengen's wives, and the other people trapped. He was also fighting down there which attracted tengen so he could start helping, then he went on to fight upper 6 alongside everyone else and defeated daki with zenitsu (literally cut her head off twice). The wives also helped everyone escape, so I think it's safe to say that a lot more people would've died without the help of inosuke. They all did well but im especially proud with inosuke and his contributions.

Mugen made sense since it was a short arc. But like there is no where else they could do a movie. All the lower moons are dead. And the remaining uppers as well as Muzan can't be thrown into a movie. And the remaining 3 arcs all flow into each other with no down time. So there isn't a place to fit a anime original movie nor is there any opponent they could use. Plus I dont think they'd do a movie focusing on any of the Hashira's past (even then they could only touch upon Rengoku or Uzui) because I doubt they'd do a movie without Tanjiro as a focal character.
It's not just Ume that's a ''bad name'' Gyutaro is actually a job. It's what the people who would advertise a brothel on the streets and try to find them clients were called. So their mother named her son after the job she wanted him to perform for her and she named her daughter after the disease that was killing her. Really shows how much she cared about them, doesn't it?
Gyutaro is amongst my fav demons cuz' being the eldest brother out of six siblings I can relate hard with Tanjiro and Gyutaro. At the end of the day Gyutaro was doing all he can do be a good brother to Ume and tried to turn their lives around. In the manga it showed that any of the good food that Gyutaro manages to gather, he would offer it up to Ume instead and he always made sure that she stays warm and clean. His ideology and actions are justified because of the circumstances he was born into and in the previous episode they already made the parallel between him and Tanjiro. Even tho I'm a manga reader but seeing their backstory animated had me in tears. No matter how annoying or troublesome my siblings can be, they're still my siblings. We are connected by blood, share the same roof and witness each others lives unfold. They're my light when I'm in my darkest days, my pride and joy. They fill the pit of loneliness in my heart. Each and every one of them I've cradled in my arms before. In those moments where I held each of them in my arms I swore upon the unspoken oath that I will cherish, love and protect them as long as I live. If there was ever a reality where I have to lay down my life for the sake of theirs, I will gladly do so. At least I'll have a decent end to my rather average life. Unfortunately, Gyutaro never knew that his little sister was standing up for him. God damn heart wrenching backstory for sure.
This backstory is so well-done. The things they've done can never be forgiven, but the backstory makes them human once again by establishing a pretty fucking good reason to why they became demons with just the right reasons to strive to become stronger eventually leading them to become Upper Rank. Gytaro is pretty obvious, he's the collector and collects from those who are better off than him, but the sister's reasoning is much different. She became a demon because she didn't have a choice. She kinda got roped into becoming one seeing as she was at death's door and we see this because she tries to give reasons as to why she became a demon like "They never age, they are always beautiful, they don't get sick, they don't die". But now looking back she really had no drive herself. In a sense she was always getting carried by her brother, which goes to show why even though they are both Upper Ranks, he was way stronger simply because he had a real goal to become a Demon, thus why in the "In-between" he's still a demon and she is human. And because of those motivation differences is why Gytaro doesn't want his sister to follow him since he had real reason to himself at least to be a Demon and kill innocents. The symbolism between the two sets of siblings is amazing. Daki was always being carried because she, herself didn't really have good reasons to become a demon thus making her the weak link. Nezuko carrying Tanjiro shows the supoort they have between eachother since Tanjiro is always carrying her regardless of the situtaion, but when the times comes, she would do absolutely everything the same for him. No weak or stronger between them, just two siblings moving foward towards the same goal.
Thank y'all for showing that moment where Gyutaro wraps his hands under Ume's legs and hikes her up on his back, it's a very tiny moment but it also holds a lot of meaning IMO and you guys are the first reaction I've seen to give it it's due attention.

I like how everyone just keeps forgetting who the Mist Hashira is and everyone is doubting his strength and skill. Man I can't wait for him to he animated. Literally my favorite Hashira. Mans about to commit one of the greatest shit ever.
My girlfriend and I were talking about Demon Slayer (I've read the manga, she hasn't) and she was trying to remember all the hashira, she named all but Muichiro. She said "which one am I forgetting?" I said "Muichiro, the 'missed' (mist) hashira." I dare say it's one of the greatest puns I've ever made.
Mamoru Miyano is such a great choice for the role of Douma. He perfectly captured the essence of Douma. Now I'm looking forward to hearing the voices of Upper Demons 1, 4, and 5.
The previous Upper 6's (Doma's) voice sounds so cold and terrifying. Brilliant voice acting even in that short time frame. He (Mamoru Miyano) actually voiced Light Yagami in Death Note, Okabe Rintaro in Steins;Gate, Chrollo from HxH among a myriad of other popular animes.
The Demon from Daki and Gyutaro's past is hella gorgeous. He also appears to be very powerful. I'm curious what happened to him because he was the previous upper six, right? Since he was shown in the siblings' past and "Upper six" is carved in his eyes. I'd like to learn more about him, perhaps through a flashback or something in the next season? He appears to be an intriguing character.
I think the next season you will definitely see him in the meeting of the upper moons that they teased at the end of this episode. And yes he is very powerful
Just a heads up for the new arc 😁 The first hashira we all see in the teaser is the one that Tengen said to Gyuutaro one of strong people (and probably a prodigy). That person is the one who 'became a hashira just two months after learning swordmanship'
The one in the teaser is both the mist hashira and the love hashira. The first hashira (green haired one) is the one mentioned by uzui that became a slayer and a hashira only in the span of 2 months. He's introduced in the hashira meeting in the first season as well as the love hashira (pink haired one). This next arc is about to be lit I SWEAR.
You gatta remember that Tanjiro can still smell when people are lying to themselves or have sorrow in their soul cause S1 he had a lot of moments like that but s2 dosnt remind you of that aspect a lot but its still there and some of Tanjiro's dialogues are based on it
The hashira with the blue tips y'all saw in the trailer is the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito. He's the one Uzui talked about when he said there are people so talented they can pick up a sword and be a hashira in just two months. And remember it's been more than two years since tanjiro started his training.
My interpretation of the ending is that they are both going to be reincarnated again together. Besides Gyutaro cursing Buddha, there seems to be a lot of Buddhist theming. Ume was eligible to go to Nirvanna but "No Matter How Many Lives" they live she wants to be with him until he can come too. I'm not even a Buddist it just seems like the show's creator likes Buddism.
Well it seems like in this show being good means you get reincarnated, while being bad means your stuck in hell until you clear your karma. So its more like she could be reincarnated, but chose to stay with him until he cleared his karma so they could go back together.
The demon who saved Daki and Gyutaro was Upper 6 at the time he saved them. So fast forward 100+ years and Daki and Gyutaro are now upper 6. So he has either moved up to 5-1 or died. But of course if they teased him like this he's definitely still alive.
@@dattebayo6565 what? It certainly does! The fact that he literally looks like A CERTAIN SOMEONE is a good enough cliffhanger. Besides the last ep exactly cut to the upper demon meeting, literally moments later and they could've introduced him.
the demon you saw that turned daki and gyutaro into demons was upper rank 6 during THAT time, which was more than centuries ago. thats all im gonna say
He was upper six in the flash back but we know it has been 100 years sense sense one of the upper moons have died so it is safe to assume he is much higher ranked. My attempt to not spoil
I am so ready for the next arcs! I loved the manga and I need the manga to be animated and made like NOW!!! The next seasons are about to go so fucking crazy
The answer of who the strongest Hashira is will be revealed soon, the rankings overall are pretty muddy, but strongest and weakest hashira are generally agreed upon
Jake is right. All the Hashiras are strong, but there is a strongest among them whom other Hashira agreed and respected. As for the weakest Hashira, that person actually more or less confirmed it himself/ herself and there are good reasons to it. The ranking from 2nd to 8th is not clear and more of opinions than facts.
Maaan. About the demons being created by society I always go back to what Gandalf have said. "Saruman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love. - Gandalf
theres an extra in the manga that says Ume stabbed the samurai cus he insulted Gyutaro. and yes, they went to hell. Ume got a chance for redemption and heaven cus she didnt really ahve a choice in becoming a demon, Gyutaro chose that for her, he didnt regret becoming a demon and said he would make that choice over and over again in any future lives, so he didnt get that chance to go to heaven. but she chose to stay with her brother and go to hell with him
Kny is set in the taisho period which was around 1915-1925, (don't quote me on that) , and the first successful reattachment of a devered hand was performed in 1964.
Since season 3 has been confirmed and the only demons remaining in the twelve Kizuki are the upper ranks, does this mean we'll see the other upper ranks as well? And, based on the teaser, the next arc will revolve around Muichiro and Mitsuri! I can't wait to see the other hashiras in action, especially Muichiro! I'm hoping to see Gyomei and Obanai as well, as they and Muichiro are my favorite hashiras! Btw, no spoilers please. I have read the manga but only until the red light district light arc. 🙇♀️
The master, Kagaya is a descendant of Muzan and the illness that he has is a genetic disorder. Muzan had it too before becoming a demon. It passed down from generation to generation in their family and has left the family with a lifespan of less than 30 years and here Kagaya is 23. Kagaya mentions that It’s been 100 years since an upper rank has been killed and now that Gyutaro and Daki died, that’s caused a rift in the twelve kizuki because whilst the lower ranks have continued to change and have been replaced over the years, the upper ranks have stayed the same. The final few arcs are closing in but they’ll probably be spacing it out over the next couple of maybe 3/4 years time before the final season.and tbh Ufotable have gained my utmost respect and patience because they’ve really come through with the animation.
I don't understand why everyone assumes that there has to be a certain number of hashiras, the only requirement is to be strong, not that there is a free position. Iguro talks about the lack of hashiras not because of bureaucracy but because of attack force
I feel like there is some symbolism about left eyes with Gyutaro, his left eye is the one he shares with Daki/ Ume, the samurai lost his left eye, and Uzui lost his left eye.
What actually heartbreaking is that Daki “Ume” didn’t think twice to kill the ugly people she encountered. But she never was disgusted by her brother’s appearance. Even when they were bickering while disintegrating, daki called her brother ugly but she didn’t mean it. She loved and appreciated her brother so much that even when she was given a chance to be reincarnated, her being on the light side, she made a choice to stay with her brother through the end. He was never ugly in her eyes bc he was the only one who truly cared about her
I stopped breathing when Douma showed up. I completely forgot he had an appearance in this arc. With the perfect voice actor too! Next arc is going to be an avalanche, there's only about 3 arcs left so everything is going to be picked up faster from now on (almost too fast, rushed even lol)
It's a guy, on this season when uzui was talking with gyutaro about him not being blessed, they showed Gyomei, the stone hashira and also showed Tokito, and uzui said he became a hashira in only 3 months.
As the eldest of 5 this episode made me cry, i think the scene that got to me the most was gyotaro protecting ume from the snow, idk it just made me so sad
As Inosuke alredy said, Zenitsu most be asleep all the time during fight so after he popping off he'll awake saying "wow, i done that for real? Coolio!!"
As a brother who has sisters i cried so much when Tanjirou silenced them when they’re arguing. It’s true that you don’t mean what you said when you’re arguing with your siblings because at the end you still love them regardless.
Suraj has been the only reactor I've seen (so far) remember that the arrow demon has also had a "last attack" before. A lot of people are thinking it's only an upper moon thing or a failsafe placed by Muzan. Good memory!

Nezuko’s Demon art doesn’t heal them exactly. It’s fire that only damages demons and demon arts. So it wouldn’t work on normal poison. But since Gyutaro’s poison is a demon art she could destroy it. Remember S1 ep 19 (Rui said that), Mugen Train (Nezuko wake up Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke), and S2 ep 7 (Daki said that again)
The first DUDE was the guy that became Hashira in 2 months, they said that this season. He is also the one who flicked a stone and knocked out Tanjiro when he spoke out of turn during the Hashira meeting of season 1

My girlfriend and I were talking about Demon Slayer (I've read the manga, she hasn't) and she was trying to remember all the hashira, she named all but Muichiro. She said "which one am I forgetting?"
I said "Muichiro, the 'missed' (mist) hashira."
I dare say it's one of the greatest puns I've ever made.
Kinda poetic that they forget about Mist Hashira, since you know, he himself has memory issues
@@stormkrader409 good one lol
Mamoru Miyano is such a great choice for the role of Douma. He perfectly captured the essence of Douma. Now I'm looking forward to hearing the voices of Upper Demons 1, 4, and 5.
1 better have some bad ass samurai voice
I swear if upper moon 1's VA isn't Tsuda Kenjiro then I'll be dropping this .
I'm waiting for UM 4's voice actor. I hope they they get a single VA who can voice all his emotions
@@kentoriram8586 what about Hocho Otsuka
@@soumyajitmandal6028 Noriaki Sugiyama probably?
He appears to be an intriguing character.
lol y'all anime only watchers aren't prepared for what's coming
I think the next season you will definitely see him in the meeting of the upper moons that they teased at the end of this episode. And yes he is very powerful
He’s upper 2
Let's simp for him together
that demon is really weird
Just a heads up for the new arc 😁
The first hashira we all see in the teaser is the one that Tengen said to Gyuutaro one of strong people (and probably a prodigy).
That person is the one who 'became a hashira just two months after learning swordmanship'
17:50 “Let my man drown in sex and live his best life” lol 😂
We met those hashira last season. The first one was Muichiro Tokito, the mist hashira and the second was Mitsuri Kanroji, the love hashira.
13:01 "Now I'm scared of THIS guy, dude... Like, how powerful must *he* be"
Oh, you have no idea how right you are....
obanai didnt say that because hes stronger than uzui and thinks he could do the same, hes just talking shit cause that's his personality LMAO
But he is stronger then Uzui though 🤔🤔🤔
@@Treacho definitely
@@slimerewoods5766 uzui is on of the weaker hashira
They all went hard and almost died in this fight,I can only imagine how fighting the rest will go,can't wait to see the other Hashira fight
The demon who saved Daki and Gyutaro was Upper 6 at the time he saved them. So fast forward 100+ years and Daki and Gyutaro are now upper 6. So he has either moved up to 5-1 or died.
But of course if they teased him like this he's definitely still alive.
I love how some people are saying it should have been left on a cliffhanger. A CLIFFHANGER, OF WHAT THE RECOVERY?!🤣
Im guessing revealing the upper1 is a good cliffhanger
@@p0ppysmic13 bruh they just defeated upper 6 , jumping directly to upper 1 is bs
@@dattebayo6565 nah man just introducing his character can be a good cutting point coz his reveal was such a thinker.
@@p0ppysmic13 i don't think you can have hype for later episodes if you bring him this early
Rare Navi appearance in Demon Slayer, Happy Valentines Day everyone 😭❤
The answer of who the strongest Hashira is will be revealed soon, the rankings overall are pretty muddy, but strongest and weakest hashira are generally agreed upon
I don’t like the comparisons because they are all leagues above all other slayers and for good reason
@@stancinatti8198 yeah, they all got unique quirks
Jake is right. All the Hashiras are strong, but there is a strongest among them whom other Hashira agreed and respected. As for the weakest Hashira, that person actually more or less confirmed it himself/ herself and there are good reasons to it. The ranking from 2nd to 8th is not clear and more of opinions than facts.
@@angnguyen4541 facts
Yoshiwara (the IRL district where this arc took place in) caught fire in 1913, which is also when the time Demon Slayer set in.
(At 4:58) All she did was burn out the poison out of his system, she didn't "completely" heal him.
Maaan. About the demons being created by society I always go back to what Gandalf have said.
"Saruman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love. - Gandalf
I love how even though he probably could've returned to active duty, Tengen retired in order to honor his wive's request.
I'm so happy we're getting a season 3! I'm excited to see my boy Muichiro in action! 😍
O they are going to finish the manga for sure.
imagine if the mixture of Naoya Uchida and Kenjiro Tsuda would fit uppermoon 1, that just slipped my mind just now
theres an extra in the manga that says Ume stabbed the samurai cus he insulted Gyutaro. and yes, they went to hell.
Not to worry, everyone will get their due spotlight. And with the animation we've seen thus far, they're all going to be incredible.
You'd have to wait a loooong time for obanai
@@emmalee28 can’t wait 👀👀👀
I can't wait for Sanemi man that dude is too cool
next arc will have 2 upper ranks, then a training arc then the final arc which will have the rest.
Chris calling Obanai , Orochimaru's old cousin is so wholesome 😂😂😂😂
Oh damn! Y'all are gonna LOVE the next season!
The Upper Rank Six Demon that turned Daki and Gyuutaro onto demons is a strong but you'll see what number in becomes in the next season.
Damn this episode was deep. I cried hard when she followed his brother in to hell.
My opinion is with uzui missing a hand and an eye now, he knows he won’t be able to finish his musical score technique before he died in battle.
15:07 PlotTwist: It is heaven, but Rengoku took over heaven so now it has fire Just like his soul!
28:50 Probably a bit late, but that guy is currently Upper moon 2. So yeah, really big threat
7:00 It’s like you beat the final boss in an rpg and realized you have an unfinished quest from the starter town.
I don't understand why everyone assumes that there has to be a certain number of hashiras, the only requirement is to be strong, not that there is a free position.
Iguro talks about the lack of hashiras not because of bureaucracy but because of attack force
Just realized what that vision was Daki had in the earlier episodes… OMG 😳
I feel like there is some symbolism about left eyes with Gyutaro, his left eye is the one he shares with Daki/ Ume, the samurai lost his left eye, and Uzui lost his left eye.
Kagaya's case isnt poison related but a curse
Has anyone talked about how the wives resemble Tanjiro and his crew yet
Btw so y’all know: it’s not that upper moons *rarely* get killed it’s that they’ve *never* been killed
They were definitely all mvp. I’d say everyone in the trio all pulled their weight and popped off
You hate the demons, then they show you a backstory then you feel sorry for them
douma's voice is already chilling my bones and makes me feel irritated to him more
What actually heartbreaking is that Daki “Ume” didn’t think twice to kill the ugly people she encountered. He was never ugly in her eyes bc he was the only one who truly cared about her
"They still talking?!"
I had to do it! I couldn't hold it in XD
I think the guy with the rainbow eyes was upper 6 at the time, but Daki/Ume and her brother was the upper 6 now, so he is probably higher now.
Fun fact, in the manga you don't actually see Nezuko save them, it just hard cuts to Tanjiro being woken up by Nezuko.
As Inosuke alredy said, Zenitsu most be asleep all the time during fight so after he popping off he'll awake saying "wow, i done that for real? Coolio!!"
12:11 LMBO!!! I don't know how they can sit there when you make these terrible puns!!!
LOL the first hashira that was shown in the teaser is the one that Uzui mentioned that became a hashira in just a month!
As a brother who has sisters i cried so much when Tanjirou silenced them when they’re arguing. It’s true that you don’t mean what you said when you’re arguing with your siblings because at the end you still love them regardless.
he turned towards the light in the end hes back in his kimono from the backflash.
The Demon Slayer Master isn’t poisoned. It’s the Ubayashiki curse. It can’t be healed unless Muzan is killed
Where is ep17
6:41 🤣🤣🤣 when she put the rabbit ears up
Zenitsu will someday fight awake, but he needs to be extremely angry to do so.
That demon that turned Daki is the #2 rank! In mugen train they showed his silhouette as the 2nd rank so it's not a spoiler
notice how all the retired hashira have wounds all over, but urokodaki is untouched, flow like water.
Nezuko was the GOAT this episode and its a shame we couldn't see the Upper Ranks meeting
I was a little disappointed, but then again I think the upper moon meeting would be pretty long to fit into the same episode.
Human tortures you, you become demon. Demon tortures you, you become demon slayer.
Suraj has been the only reactor I've seen (so far) remember that the arrow demon has also had a "last attack" before. A lot of people are thinking it's only an upper moon thing or a failsafe placed by Muzan. Good memory!
Arrow demon? I am sorry but seems i forgot! Can u specify when was the fight with arrow demon?
@@Lynettefan49 When Tanjiro was with Tamayo (the good demon he sends upper blood to) they all fought the multi-armed demon with the balls and a demon with arrow eyes on their palms and they could send you in any direction.
I’m still crying watching this for like the tenth time.
13:42 you just killed the whole mood dude. Uncalled for
😢
the dude in the teaser is the mist hashira muichiro tokito he was there at the hashira meeting and the girl is the love hashira mitsuri kanroji she was also in the hashira meeting last season 22:15
Both of them in season 3 teaser arc are hashira, first one is Mist hashira second one was love hashira. they were introduced in season 1.
The VA of Douma (former upper six) is the same VA of Light Yagami and Chrollo Lucilfer
The first DUDE was the guy that became Hashira in 2 months, they said that this season. He is also the one who flicked a stone and knocked out Tanjiro when he spoke out of turn during the Hashira meeting of season 1
Nope that’s the wrong dude it the dude with long hair
@@demewiththesemi no he's right Muichirou became a Hashira in 2 months and he's one of the youngest characters in the entire series
