@Shaunboym Is cool i8 has 1.4 3cylinder engine which has 300+ horsepower plus electric motors u are comparing 300hp car to 400 and 500+ cars which has big engines and lot torque but i8 wins in 1/4 mile at some 400+hp cars

That i8 is fast considering it is a 3 cylinder hybrid! Just imagine how fast the i8 could be if the M division got a hold of it. So much potential with these hybrid sports cars and super cars. Makes me excited for the future.

Let's face it, the i8 is mainly a city car, wasn't made for racing. The results here are impressive, so stop saying that 911 or GT-R or whatever is better, because those cars are not in the same class with the i8. BMW did a great job with this car!

LOL damm the translater xDD only that the i8 is maked for low consume, so if we want more power we need more energy and this car try to give us low combustible consumition , so is't normal that the i8 cant run more than another deportive car. (I need study more english xD )
The i8 is just a wannabe supercar that can't even compete with a Tesla. City car? Most of the cars it raced are more "city cars", including the GTR.
+Thomas Owusu-Abayie I never said they were city cars, and I don't care what they were "made to be". Most of those cars have much more usability than the i8. If you think otherwise, then you have probably never experienced the i8 in person.
First of all, I have seen and been in an i8. Getting in and out of this "city car" is nearly impossible. The rear seats are not suited for people. The way the doors open makes no sense. They're purely for aesthetics. At least Lamborghini's scissor doors and Tesla's falcon wing doors are designed use less space instead of more. The GTR is more of a city car than the i8 will ever be. On top of that, it can't even beat a Tesla Model S on a track, so I'm not sure what that car is supposed to be good at.

The i8 really isn't all that good, even the Tesla Model S can beat it. You can see in this video that the i8 also starts a split second before the other cars, he's just a little cheat.
+PCMasterRace 1) not all Tesla Model S can beat an i8, only the 85D and P85D (and the 85D can only beat it on the first run, then the total available voltage of the batteries will leave it in thei8 dust) 2) the i8 is a hybrid, meaning it has to compete with extra weight for acceleration. 3) A P85D is only $30k less than the BMW but has less than half the range, less refueling options, and not nearly as nice of a suspension.
+PCMasterRace also, many of the cars where it appears he leaves early are people who either don't know how to launch or just mess up the launch.
They could have stalled there clutch on launch so i8 had upper advantage
cars with an electric motor helping them have "instant" torque where as combustion engines all have a slight lag...that quicker start isnt him cheating, its the instant torque you are seeing. I rode in my friends tesla model s and oh boy oh boy that instant pick up is insane to witness for yourself
