If you are new here, I am Ashley and I operate TWO Etsy embroidery shops full time from my home studio. Over 3 years ago, I traded in my RN job and stethoscope to stay home and operate my businesses full time when I could no longer keep up with both! Now I have a beautiful little girl at home with me (and another baby on the way) that keeps me busy alongside my shops.

I’m due next month and trying to run my Etsy shop while pregnant with baby #4🤰is no joke. I be ready to go to sleep while listening to my embroidery machine while it’s stitching out a design. It’s like white noise to me lol 😂

Hi Ashley..love watching you work..quick question..on the kids shirt you add 2 pieces of stabiliser they look like 2 different types, may I ask what you use?
I use polymesh next to the shirt then a light tearaway as well. The tearaway helps hoop with the polymesh and gives a nice, crisper surface to stitch on. I use this combo for about 99% of what I make!
Do you pre-wash your garments and fabric used for appliqués?
No, I do not.
What is your opinion about Etsy fees increased? I was so motivated until I found so many negative videos this month 🥺
I'm not a fan and will unfortunately be raising prices when I return after my Maternity leave from the combination of the fee increase and increase in blanks cost. BUT Etsy is what brings the customers to me. If I was doing my own SEO and advertising for a stand alone website, I would likely be spending just as much if not more to reach new customers and drive them to my site, with no guarantee of the same volume of sales. It's the price of a pre-built customer base that is ready to shop!

Could you please share the name of design maker? My daughter-in-law is a OTA and I’d like to embroider her logo on a jacket, but don’t know of a reputable designer. 🌸
Do you need someone to digitize a logo? Or just somewhere to buy a generic OT type design? I use vitor digitizing for most actual business logos I have digitized, he has a website that is easy to use!

@@veritagwallace1956 I find most on Etsy or embroiderydesigns.com They can be hit or miss, so test stitch those type first! Otherwise I've started digitizing simple ones for myself.
