You've sold me on the Africa Twin. I have an old '85 Honda Goldwing that I absolutely love and I've been thinking about investing in a newer one. BUT, I love the look, functionality, and versatility of the Africa Twin to able to do tour AND off-road. My concern was the comfortability of it on long hauls, which is why I love the GW's. The more I think about it though, the more I think you're right. Why pigeonhole myself into one kind of riding when I can have the best of both worlds. I love the mods you've done. Thanks again for your review.
Knight Designs lowering foot pegs. Love them, have been a game changer for me (arthritis). Highest quality, best fit and finish, rubber pads come off. Not cheap, but on par with your Givi components, or your crash bars. You get what you pay for! Best wishes
I must’ve watched hours and hours of motorcycle reviews on TH-cam but this is the most objective, well presented review I’ve ever watched. King regards from Barcelona!
Nice reflections on your mods. Happy that I am not the only one that finds getting my bike with panniers loaded on and off centerstand nearly impossible. Keep up the good work.
Good review! I spent a ton outfitting my AT, however it'll probably be the last new bike I own so it's well equipped I think. My windshield is still stock, it seems to be ok. I've got Outback Motorteck engine guards, lower and upper. Mounted on them are a set of Denali D4's for my driving lights, and a set of Denali D3 fog lights with amber lenses, I have an abundance of very large wildlife so I wanted intense extra lighting and they are controlled by a HEX ezCan. Upgraded rad guards from the plastic ones it came with, also the fork tunnel air damn, Lone Rider Ranger Mini tank bag for longer trips, Lone Rider Moto Pegs, Honda centre stand, 37/48 litre Kappa aluminum panniers, and a Kappa 52 Litre Plastic top case. I went with the Kappa plastic top case because it was a little more aerodynamic than the aluminum ones and the top case is on the bike at all times, my panniers go on when I need them is all. Almost forgot, also fitted it with a Scott oiler for my chain. Never tried one so I am going to see if this helps chain life and maintenance, in theory it should. That's about it in a nutshell. Ride safe!
Nice for street! Not the right stuff for off-road, but glad you like it! I’ve tried the trailmax missions on the Idaho BDR and they sucked! On the road and simple gravel roads they are fine.
The video was very inspiring, thanks! I am also a proud owner of an Africa Twin 2024 and currently faced with the question of which holder is a good fit for my navigation system. Which one did you use? Greetings from Austria...
Dan, fellow Dan here. Just wanted to say thank you for this video!! I stumbled across your channel a couple weeks ago and subbed right away. When I saw this video I looked up the crash bars you have and wound up ordering a set from Heed. I finally got around to putting them on last night and I'm ecstatic. Ironically you said in your video they were really expensive but they were much less expensive (even being shipped from Poland) than most of the US brands I was looking at before hand. Anyways, keep up the awesome content and keep the shiny side up!
@@adventureundone The funny thing is I was pretty hesitant to spend too much ordering from Poland. Now I wish I would have got the bags and the skid plate. So that'll be the next order I place with them. I've got the DCT model too!
@@adventureundone hey Dan, I know you have since sold your Africa Twin but did your heed bags ever come in? I'd be interested in buying them off of you if you still have them before I order some directly from Poland. Let me know!
You got the Rebel 1100 and I’m getting ready to trade mine for the ATAS (ES). I have the 1100T. Just not enough storage or fuel capacity which is why I want the AT. And is it me or is the side stand too short. Even my salesman was tripping out on how much the Twin leans while on the stand.
Great mod video! Currently have a 21 ATAS so this gave me some great ideas. Wow that Rebel is a nice looking bike! Love the brown color. Looking forward to some Rebel videos as well.
Nice mods at an affordable price, I ordered Tank protection for my AT. I have a National Cycle Mid screen on my AT, and I want to cut down an inch or two. What tool did you use to cut down your windscreen? Do you've any videos of it? Thank you
Heyy what navigation equipment do you use?? Like garmin or something?? If you do then it would be great if you review it man. I looking one for my tiger.
I have put a GIVI windscreen like yours on my ATAS 2021. The rearviewmirrors and hand protectors are beatting on the windscreen when the handlebar is on its complete steering course . My handlebar has a raiser... I am trying to solve this problem spinning the hand protectors down and shifiting the rearviewmirrors instalation to the handle bar with an adapter. Did you have any problems like that without the raiser?
Great review. I have the same bike with stock windshield ,Honda upper wind deflectors and forksheild cover. I’d like to ask two questions. 1. Do you have any wind noise and buffeting above 120-130 km/h with this wind blockage setup ? 2. Why did you cut the givi windshield ? Was the cut made only for the better looks of the bike? Thnx mate looking forward to your reply
None at all, and if I put the windshield din the high position out just about removes all wind. Great for highways, rain, and cold rides. As for cutting the windshield, wow it was super tall stock. Even in the lowest position it was super tall, I was always looking through the thing. I like to ride without looking through a windshield a lot, especially when off road.
Can you please share which GPS over the instruments holder is that? How did you install Givi deflectors and the GPS mount? They both attach to TFT display mount bolts. Thanks.
Great video, but I greatly disagree with you on the seat. I too purchased the same seat that you have and the seat is the absolute worse I've ever owned. Lacking padding big time and I can't ride more than 20 miles before my ass is killing me. Stock seat is so much better (and that's not saying much), and quite honestly, I'm going to modify it myself with a new gel pad and memory foam addition.
Hi mate ? Can you tell me how many cms did you cut the givi shield please ? I’m 1.86m do you think I can ride with my eyesight above givi windshield? Thnx in advance
not sure how much I cut off, but the windshield is not at 18.5. I debated cotton off more, but at this size, it works so nice on the road. BTW I am right at 6ft tall
shout out for the 2 ply, underrated but essential bike mod

The best looking adventure bike by far made to look even better with those mods, fantastic work.
Of course they’re functional too I guess.

Watched your video 2+ times and took notes. Just picked up a 2017 with cosmetic damage and will mod it up including your tips. Thx!
Nice outfit. Shouldn't reflectors on the rear of a motor vehicle be red?

Nice tank bag. 💼
Why not put the cup holder on your left side since your left hand is more free?
Great build, man! Hopefully you can get your hands on a 2024 ATAS.

Thanks.
Welp, I'm buying some of these, for sure.
Thanks again for posting your AT stuff - very useful!
Great job on this vod man! Bike looks great too!

Do you have a link to the front fender extender? Can’t seem to find any for the 2020+ AT. Thanks!
I think the license plate covers are for TH-camrs privacy during filming and removed when on road😊
Great video, I just bought a '21 Africa Twin. Do you have a link for those little wind screen deflectors. Thanks.
Another great vid. Do you ever consider a aux tail light on your top case as it gets hard to see the stock tail light?
Where did you find the front fender extender? I can't find a model that shows fitment for the AT '24 model year.

Hi mate can you please count for me from the top till the bottom of your givi windshield now that’s cut? Thnx in advance 😊
I love your modes 😢
Hi, can you put the link to the horn pls... thanks

Why does that front tire look like a directional pattern that you put on backwards?
Was just about asking the same!
I believe the rear also reversed, maybe I had too much.. coffee 🤔
both front and rear are mounted properly, rear tire pattern goes forward, and the front tire pattern faces rearward.
I wait my Africa twin from Japan

a bit snug near the top, but very solid once in place.
