Great video! I have a weird question for you. I've seen other unboxing videos, but I think they were opening the European collectors edition. It seems like the packaging is different in the European vs. the US edition. It looks like you have the US edition. Is that right? If so, is the game shrink wrapped/sealed in the US collectors edition box. Thanks!
Thanks, Scott! Yes, this is the US version and YES everything in the box comes wrapped and sealed in their own plastic case/sleeve. I just removed them for the sake of the video! Thanks again!

I could NOT agree more on missing booklets/instruction manuals. I remember Skyrim came with a cool map, I miss extras like that! I used to love reading those booklets cover to cover.
The bare minimum in a collector's edition should be a game manual. I guess unlike God of War and Horizon we get an actual physical game in this to collect

I miss the booklets too. The printed materials were where that sweet, sweet new game smell came from.

@BWICK Back in the N64 days, I used to bring the booklets to school with me too. I'd look at them with my friends.
Now I'm at work and anxious to get home since I just got a notification that my CE was just delivered. 😃
I liked it, however it would have been even better if the art book had a small note in English and not only in Japanese. My language is not English but since the rest of the box comes in English it would be a little more accessible for the rest outside of Japan.
I can already see the differences in the Europe and US version. Back of the steel book does not have the white Nintendo text on the EU version. Hard to say for certain but the pins look different too, the US ones look to have the design raised whereas it looks to be flat on the EU version. For the poster I think Nintendo was just lazy, they could have put an image on there that was never shown before but they chose the cover art.
you know, i will agree on the art. it couldve been a different picture. it is still really nice, but a new piece of art just for this wouldve been awesome. thanks!
This kinda editions, remembers me the old good times when games include booklets, posters, stickers and so on, for me worth it 👌

I picked mine off ebay for £40 , in pristine condition, without the game, hiwever i had ordered the coin and travel tag version of the game and another game on its own, so that goes into the collectors edition still sealed.. i love it
Only gripe for the previous special editions of FE ENGAGE and XBC3 was that the artbook (as detailed as it was) was soft cover. The hardcover artbook sold this to me. No brainer.
The FE Engage artbook is hard cover, unless it's different for other regions outside the US.
Getting mine today. Keeping it unopened. My favourite piece is the steel poster. Nice unboxing video 👍🏻

Me too. Tbh, I think most people stumped up the cash for this set BECAUSE of the art book. I think Nintendo know that as it’s the best part of this whole set.
@@femto8402 the only thing I want from this is the steelbook case, nothing else so it doesn’t justify the 175$ (Canadian) for me

I have the collection, it'sery nice in person. The packaging was also nice. Pure quality. The best part of this collection though, is the book! That book is amazing. The pages feel great and the content they show, that's within the game is downright beautiful.

Kinda bummed the steel poster isn't of the hieroglyph art they feature on the front of the poster box. I'd much rather have that on my wall 🥲

4:15 Useless fact: The Australian/New Zealand CE variant was also the only one WITHOUT tamper seals on the outer tabs; white and not black internal cardboard inserts; and unsealed game case - as usual for Nintendo AU/NZ first party titles (no Y-fold)
For collectors this is worth it but would you sell it in 20 or 30 years time,I wouldn't want to so maybe if you can afford it then buy 2,1 to use and keep one sealed to make money in the future.
Did you pick up the pro controller too? I'm still playing with the standard joy-cons and all the time pressing down on the two analog sticks during an intense fight with a Lynel, Guardian, or large group of enemies. This of course either makes me crouch (which is hard to detect at first and not easy to reset your guard) or brings up the stupid scope on the Sheikah Slate (which canceling out of always throws the camera randomly out of sorts giving me a touch of motion sickness lol). Can you or anyone with a pro controller comment (TOTK preferred but doesn't matter) on the matter? Doe the higher quality joysticks help to prevent any accidental pressing?? Does the controller's charge last longer then the joy-cons, about the same, or shorter?
i do have the pro controller, both the totk one and a normal one. i cannot recommend a pro controller enough. especially for games with a lot more action in them. they are much higher quality and the battery does last longer than joycons for sure

I finally broke, and bought this. I’m glad you had an awesome review to show me what is in it, because I am going to keep it sealed. The steel book is was tipped the scale for me. I love everything in this set, but without the case I probably would’ve passed. Maybe one day if my kids ever move out, I’ll open it. Lol. My son bought me the Zelda switch for Mother’s Day!!, so I figured I needed this to go with it. 😂
A steelbook with a slipcover of the normal version, as well as a booklet would've been much cooler imo.

Same! I bought the original and the collector's edition. So excited that Target had it in stock. Got the LAST ONE! Best Buy didn't have ANY in stock when the store opened today. Thank goodness Target came through in the clutch. LOVE IT!

Looks so good! While I love the steel case, I think like the pins better. It’s what I would get the most use out of (I put pins all over my backpack).

My case was empty, so I came here to confirm that it is just a cartridge. What happened to including some sort of manual or a game map / poster?
3:14 the pins graph looks like the Chinese characters for wind (風), fire (火), water (水) and electricity (電), so yeah, definitely related to the champions and/or their respective tribe or divine beast
I’m seeing a softcover book, hardcover embossed book and hardcover glossy book. Any idea why there are 3 versions out there?
i know that there is at least a US version and a UK version of the collectors edition. i am not sure what the UK version comes with though. the one i have is the US version
@@BWICK thanks! I’m in the US too, I hope I get an embossed book like yours. The glossy one seems to be EU and not sure what the softcover one is but the box looks like the US version… the packaging is also different on EU vs US

no its not worth it to open the box. this is collector edition for keeping it new in the box so it get value someday to sell for more or just keep in in collection. if you are to open it to play the game then better get the non collector game. the extra content is nothing you need for play the game. btw a guy with green nails looks weird.

I really cannot understand how people find this collectors edition worth it. Its literally some insignias and a colourless steelbook. Even though art book is pretty good, I don’t understand the appeal other than being how much people love zelda

Considering the 'Standard' version sells for $69.99 it's not too terrible, but I get it. I think any collectors edition over $100 that doesn't come with a premium statue is overpriced. Quick note, the BOTW collectors edition (the 'Master' version) now sells for $1K+ sealed, $500+ opened, and graded copies can go as high as $5K+ from what I'm seeing. So $130 for TOTK is a decent investment considering it's already more successful in terms of units sold... 10M+ in 3 days!! A new record in the world of gaming!
Because people that truly love zelda love having physical zelda items. It's totally worth it to die hard fans. Why would they think its not worth it?

Like the other Collectors Edition it will increase in value. So when you only buy the game you will likely loose money and with the collectors edition you can sell it anytime for more money.
