  • From headache to color blindness, learn about the symptoms I felt before going blind.
    Hello guys, my name is Yani June, and I'm a blind girl from the Philippines. My left eye is totally blind and my right eye only has light perception, which means I can only see light like lightbulbs, flashlights, the sun and sky when it's morning. I lost my vision in 2018 due to an eye disorder called "Retinal Detachment".
    I created this channel to share to you guys how I experience the world as a blind person.

    Wow, you were born blind in one eye and bad vision in the other, but you still excelled enough in your language skills to work in a call center..!!! Excellent inspirational story, thanks for sharing your journey 😊

      Thank you.💛 It used to surprise my doctors that companies would hire me despite having poor eye condition. As for the language, I'm just lucky I was able to study and learn it in school.😇

    dang i feel sad you have these problems in life.. really unfortunate :/ I have retinal issue in my one eye but it evolved from previous trauma not from bad vision from birth or something.. I had one operation with a long recovery. And now im having problems again and i think i rather lose vision in that eye than go through another operation and recovery, and i stumble upon this video and feel bad cause you couldn't get the treatments I can and im just choosing not to

    • @ed00r
      @ed00r ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sophiesnooks I had it checked and it seems like my retina is thin in one place but the doctor said It's not a major issue since I could live my whole life without it tearing or it could tear, so I just have to notice things on time. Anyways my eye is all scared from stiches and lasers so I get paranoid that my retina detached lol, now I just have to check the eye once every 6 months. Other than that it's all good I guess

      @@sauravsingh5096 well, I have a lot of scars from glass, and from laser that I got after surgery. I have a small black spot like a curtain after the retina detachet. So in general my vision blurry, misty, somewhat looking throught a plastic film. I can see a little better if i close the eye a little. My vision is like 0,4 in that eye

    I can relate to your experiences since I also became blind due to retinal detachment. Have you experienced seeing floaters? Those were the last things that I saw before everything went dark.

    • @blindfilipina
      @blindfilipina  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I didn't see floaters. Although, whenever I would look at a bright light, a black curtain like thing would appear and block my view. How long have you been blind? If you don't mind me asking.

      I had headaches for about a year before I was diagnosed. I kept ignoring the headaches, and when my doctor detected the problem, he said that my retinal tear was already large that it had to be reattached asap.
