  • Hey everyone. Apologies for the lack of activity. Today my brother Jonathan and I get stuck into some actual work on my bike camper.

Very clever to use a light metal fence as the base.

Hey John. Things have stalled a bit, but I’m hoping to finish it in the next few months.

Dad used a Boden design and modified it.

Well, new sub, read the bio and want to see how you manage brother.
This looks very exciting, my small custom teardrop works beautifully and I’ve thought about one like yours for years. Trouble is it’s just a wee bit to wide for the rail trails we have in Canada, the trails are fine but the entrances and exits are all protected with posts to stop motor vehicles from accessing, my little trailer barely fits through almost all the barricades..
Looking forward to following along, I rode across Canada in 2016 in support of mental health awareness after losing our middle son to suicide, full marks to you brother, much respect!
    Cheers from Canada,

Thank you good sir. I’m so very sorry for your loss. It’s a devastating disease that ripples across families and communities. Best thing you could have done my friend. Must have been a roller coaster ride. Would be interested to hear more about it. I’ll get to Canada one day for sure.
Yeah I had that issue with the width. I haven’t said anything yet but I’m actually considering a complete restart with inset wheels. It’s why I haven’t posted an update video for a bit. I’ll still finish this one, but I’m starting a brand new one too.
Happy to exchange ideas with you too.

How wide could you go before it’s too wide btw?

@@ProjectCrystalJane I’ll measure it, just back from a 70+ kms trailer test ride, once I’m tired of editing I’ll pop out and measure. Cheers.

@@ProjectCrystalJane I’ve always thought a pop out would be ideal One side on sliders, park it, remove one wheel, slide the once side out, almost doubling the width. It’s the idea that’s never left me.
