    0:33 is my struggle for every video 😐 I have high ceilings, and I've even gotten so desperate as to go into my car, and do voice overs which is entirely too much work 🙃 You're a life saver!

    • @audiotoolshed
      @audiotoolshed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha, you're welcome! High ceilings wont be a problem I would say, can even be a blessing,
      I assume you have too much reverb / echo going on?

    • @TayzWay
      @TayzWay 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@audiotoolshed Yes, at first I thought it was a problem with my camera (Canon G7x Mark II), but then I noticed it happened with my phone too (Samsung Galaxy S10+).

    • @audiotoolshed
      @audiotoolshed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TayzWay You correctly noticed it's the room you're in. It's the acoustics.
      First thing to try is to record your VO as closely to the microphone as possible. That will help. Maybe invest in a simple shotgun or lavalier / lapel mic which will connect to the phone or camera.
      If you want to properly fix too much echo, you need to do some acoustic treatment.
      Think curtains, drapes, carpet for a quick and dirty fix. Of you want to do it properly then it will be bit more work ;-)
      Maybe find a different room to record VO in will work better, usually berdrooms have carpet and curtains and lots of absorbent material and will sound a lot more dry ( or dead as they sometimes say) with a lot less reverb / echo.

    • @TayzWay
      @TayzWay 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@audiotoolshed Are there any mics you recommend? I have a generic lapel mic, I just never consider that would actually help. 🤦🏾‍♀️

    • @audiotoolshed
      @audiotoolshed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TayzWay That should work for sure. It will sound a lot closer. Never used that one before?I would first try and see if it improves in regards to the reverb before you do any new investments.

    Just read another commend about taking the audio from Filmora. I am going to have to try this , my videos are generally an hour and comprise of 40-50 recordings so doing each one would be a nightmare, never thought I could edit and then export the Audio !
    Hopefully you have some other videos on Audicity or whatever it’s called

    • @audiotoolshed
      @audiotoolshed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yo! Audacity is in the works. Be aware that when you export, do 1 file of all audio edited in filmora. Because if you do all clips seperate in whatever audio program without having the video you can mess up the sync.

    Very nice! But can you do it on Filmora?

    • @audiotoolshed
      @audiotoolshed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      hahaha thanks! I'm no Filmora expert, but the cool part is when you use for instance Audacity you can do all of this I mentioned in the video. Well the de-verb is a really specialty one, but the rest can be done in aduacity. I prefer to expert audio ( which filmora can do) because you can then work more easily on audio. In video editors you often work swith clips which is a bit of an hassle.

    You Can also try to pick a sample of the noise only,dupplicate it on an another track, and reverse phase

    • @audiotoolshed
      @audiotoolshed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That will work if you're lucky.
      Most of the time that will result in simply a weird sound.
      The issue is that most background noise is not a constant sound, but has ever so slight changes in their frequency spectrum and sound which makes that the phase inversion trick will not work. Most plugins use a combination of phase reverse and smart frequency dependant gating.
      If you have a constant hum for instance, then only using phase inversion can be succesful.
