Why are people abusing this chap for foraging ? He clearly knows what he doing. Everyone should know how to forage and hunt for food, we live in a society where people think food just turns up in the supermarket by magic. Keep doing what you're doing fella..
Ches Ches People don't know how to survive today l come from island in Adriatic when l was 7-8 years old l go around island and eat raw shrimp and all sorts of shell fish now when l tell kids they laugh .
There are web sites that tell you the grade of the water and if it is permitted to collect shell fish. I collect sea water and store it in a dark container in a cool place. You can make your own sea water by adding salt to tap water and use an hydrometer, i think the reading is about 4. have a look at my TH-cam.
Yeh smug kiwi, BUT our mussels (note the spelling) are a different species, and are packed full of flavour, and , for size your green lips etc knock'em out the water, for flavour, these slow growing bad boys will win. Just a thought.... ....d'you want bulk or taste......
Great video, thank you for posting! I myself had a tough time foraging in the Wasatch Mountains of Central Utah, check out my video and let me know what you think? Hank vs Wild - Joe's Valley Part 2
Here in California, our local department of public health has a bivalve shellfish toxin information hotline where you can call and they have a recording telling which beaches and which counties have health advisories and should be avoided. They test all year, so the number should be called the day before and day of foraging. Perhaps there is something like that where you live?- Cheers

Truly jealous of this lifestyle. I live in the city, u fortunately you can’t forage your own food here
Of course you can. You'll be surprised if you teach yourself and look around wastelands, parks cemeterys and hedgerows
