As I am from "Lou ah vulle" this popped up in my feed. These are all solid suggestions but you are going to need more than 15 minutes to enjoy The Falls of the Ohio park. It's quite large and is being expanded in the near future. Muth's Candies in in the middle of the East Market district or "NuLu". A formally rundown area that's seen a resurgence over the past decade or so. Lot's of great restaurants and shops. It's close to the Big Four foot bridge. Also there is the new Louisville FC soccer stadium that opened this year. The Old Louisville neighborhood is worth mentioning. It's just south of downtown and is the largest collection of Victorian style homes in the country outside of NYC. The center piece is St James Court next to Central Park. There's a large art festival there every year.

The attractions you mentioned are good for people who just want convenient site-seeing without having to think much, and have plenty of money to spend,
but you really can’t say you’ve seen Louisville without walking up and down Bardstown road in the highlands. Locals from all around the city come to this area because it has the most unique display of goods, services, and restaurants. It also embodies Louisville’s hipster and alternative culture, and you can observe many different kinds of people, aesthetics, outfits and energies.

Nothing gives away that someone isnt from around here than a Louie-Ville or Louis-Ville. Kentuckians will never say Ville for any of our towns lol, the goal is as little syllables as possible, and I like the guy who said to say it like youve got rocks in your mouth lol.

Glad you enjoyed it, although it looked like a seriously off time, haha. From a tourist perspective you nailed it. Things you missed? Well, regardless of what any ranking says, Louisville’s park system is phenomenal. The Olmsted designed Cherokee Park comes to mind. The new Parklands is like a mini national park. And there are so many others. The urban core neighborhoods are uniquely charming, from the Highlands to Crescent Hill to St. Matthews to Old Louisville to Germantown. Too many eccentric bars and restaurants and shops there to mention. Catching a UofL basketball game or minor league pro game downtown is usually fun. And Oldham County has some beautiful farms that offer horseback lessons and riding.

I always thought that too. Grew up there and left in early 90s. It’s a little strange to see hoopla and tourists take an interest in what I thought was a podunk town, outside of Derby).

Great job. I would totally recommend Impellizzeri's as well. It's a favorite of many. Unfortunately they have closed their downtown location. They still have three other area locations plus one down in Elizabethtown so you can still get that great Louisville pizza, you'll just have to go to the Highlands, Middletown, or the one on Brownsboro Rd. Others have mentioned a lot of the other attractions like ATL, the Science Center, and the Zoo, but I'd like to point out that we have some great libraries to visit as well. The library at the University of Louisville actually has the largest collection of Edgar Rice Burroughs memorabilia. It's not always on display so you'd need to check in advance but if you have someone with you that is a big ERB fan, it would be a must. There's also a pretty lively local music scene as well, at least there was before the pandemic. Hopefully that can get going again soon. I know many local musicians are dying to get out there and perform before a live audience again.

Man I miss my hometown. I have so many memories of the city. Fun fact I loved behind the racetrack it was always crazy during certain times of year if you parked your car best not move it and just walk to where you needed to go. Otherwise if you moved your car during the busy times you lost your spot.

A resident of the ville...and have lived elsewhere...as towns go it's pretty darn good..the vibe is different. Louisville is basically a big country town. Not without its problems. The key is to lower your expectations about everything and you will be just fine.
